present_a world_n and_o it_o teach_v we_o a_o second_o thing_n what_o it_o be_v that_o our_o eye_n and_o heart_n be_v to_o be_v fix_v upon_o in_o these_o duty_n even_o the_o appear_v of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n look_v for_o that_o bless_a hope_n still_o have_v your_o eye_n upon_o that_o look_v for_o the_o appearance_n of_o the_o mighty_a god_n and_o of_o our_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n the_o apostle_n peter_n he_o go_v one_o step_n further_o for_o whereas_o the_o apostle_n paul_n he_o have_v say_v there_o look_v for_o the_o bless_a hope_n so_o manage_v all_o your_o business_n that_o you_o may_v have_v a_o gracious_a eye_n to_o the_o come_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n the_o apostle_n peter_n he_o go_v one_o step_n further_o in_o 2_o pet._n 3.11_o 12._o see_v that_o all_o these_o thing_n must_v be_v what_o manner_n of_o person_n ought_v we_o to_o be_v in_o all_o holiness_n &_o godly_a conversation_n look_v for_o and_o hasten_v unto_o the_o come_n of_o the_o day_n of_o commendation_n but_o that_o they_o continue_v in_o they_o with_o much_o diligence_n and_o with_o strong_a patience_n they_o do_v not_o as_o many_o of_o we_o do_v intermit_v they_o at_o their_o own_o as_o i_o show_v before_o the_o right_a form_n of_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n in_o these_o professor_n we_o may_v see_v here_o what_o a_o glorious_a form_n of_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n be_v that_o every_o covenant_n betwixt_o god_n and_o man_n must_v be_v confirm_v by_o some_o outward_a sign_n and_o sacrament_n the_o second_o that_o there_o must_v be_v a_o due_a proportion_n betwixt_o the_o covenant_n that_o be_v confirm_v and_o the_o sacrament_n that_o do_v confirm_v the_o covenant_n the_o first_o rule_n every_o covenant_n betwixt_o god_n and_o man_n must_v be_v ratify_v and_o confirm_v by_o some_o sacrament_n and_o outward_a sign_n god_n deal_v with_o we_o herein_o in_o great_a wisdom_n and_o mercy_n meet_v both_o with_o our_o infidelity_n and_o with_o our_o apostasy_n our_o slipperinesse_n to_o fall_v from_o he_o with_o our_o infidelity_n because_o we_o hardly_o will_v believe_v he_o unless_o he_o bound_v himself_o to_o we_o by_o some_o outward_a sign_n with_o this_o be_v a_o new_a testament_n and_o then_o here_o must_v be_v a_o new_a sacrament_n a_o old_a covenant_n a_o old_a sacrament_n a_o new_a covenant_n a_o new_a sacrament_n a_o new_a sacrament_n and_o a_o new_a covenant_n agree_v but_o a_o new_a sacrament_n and_o a_o old_a covenant_n be_v mismatched_a they_o must_v be_v sort_v in_o their_o kind_n our_o saviour_n give_v the_o rule_n mark_v 2.21_o 22._o which_o by_o application_n may_v be_v allege_v in_o the_o case_n no_o man_n put_v new_a wine_n into_o a_o old_a vessel_n etc._n etc._n old_a sacrament_n do_v not_o agree_v with_o the_o therefore_o be_v better_a than_o the_o former_a and_o here_o it_o be_v that_o he_o speak_v with_o such_o a_o majesty_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v this_o be_v such_o as_o never_o any_o of_o the_o faithful_a have_v before_o my_o come_n in_o the_o flesh_n and_o so_o much_o for_o the_o fit_v of_o this_o speech_n of_o our_o saviour_n to_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o lord_n supper_n for_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n be_v effectual_a for_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n apply_v they_o to_o the_o sacrament_n and_o in_o a_o sacramental_a sense_n it_o be_v the_o very_a blood_n of_o christ_n name_n prove_v the_o point_n in_o hand_n the_o lord_n table_n that_o be_v the_o table_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n not_o only_o such_o a_o table_n as_o where_o in_o christ_n be_v the_o food_n feed_v upon_o for_o so_o he_o be_v in_o some_o sort_n in_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o former_a testament_n but_o such_o as_o wherein_o the_o lord_n jesus_n himself_o be_v bodily_a present_n in_o his_o flesh_n such_o as_o he_o himself_o with_o his_o bodily_a presence_n do_v speed_n ordain_v and_o institute_v for_o a_o memorial_n of_o those_o thing_n he_o have_v do_v and_o suffer_v already_o for_o the_o work_n of_o our_o redemption_n as_o a_o mediator_n and_o therefore_o may_v well_o be_v call_v the_o table_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n as_o luke_n 22.20_o christ_n already_o come_v christ_n this_o doctrine_n be_v matter_n of_o instruction_n and_o it_o serve_v to_o instruct_v we_o in_o many_o good_a christian_a duty_n be_v it_o so_o that_o the_o very_a substance_n and_o the_o chief_a state_n of_o glory_n we_o know_v a_o great_a many_o thing_n that_o god_n have_v treasure_v up_o in_o heaven_n for_o those_o that_o do_v believe_v in_o he_o as_o glory_n happiness_n and_o blessedness_n when_o we_o come_v there_o we_o shall_v utter_o disclaim_v all_o those_o kind_n of_o knowledge_n i_o we_o shall_v behold_v a_o thousand_o time_n more_o than_o ever_o we_o know_v of_o these_o thing_n before_o use_v 2_o another_o use_n of_o the_o point_n be_v this_o this_o shall_v teach_v we_o that_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o sacrament_n howsoever_o the_o sacrament_n itself_o and_o the_o outward_a use_v 3_o the_o last_o use_n this_o serve_v for_o instruction_n it_o shall_v stir_v we_o up_o that_o see_v it_o be_v so_o that_o these_o outward_a mean_n of_o holiness_n and_o inward_a grace_n they_o be_v serviceable_a mean_n of_o the_o fit_v of_o we_o against_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n therefore_o every_o one_o of_o we_o shall_v labour_v to_o perform_v these_o duty_n so_o as_o to_o make_v this_o our_o reach_n make_v this_o our_o aim_n that_o we_o may_v be_v fit_v to_o the_o come_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o because_o that_o the_o day_n of_o our_o death_n be_v partly_o a_o beginning_n of_o the_o lord_n come_v to_o we_o in_o particular_a therefore_o let_v we_o labour_v still_o so_o to_o pray_v as_o that_o we_o shall_v die_v present_o still_o so_o to_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n as_o though_o thou_o shall_v die_v present_o when_o we_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n do_v not_o think_v of_o the_o word_n as_o it_o be_v the_o word_n of_o a_o mortal_a man_n but_o as_o christ_n say_v hear_v it_o as_o the_o word_n that_o shall_v judge_v thou_o at_o the_o last_o john_n 6._o and_o therefore_o hear_v it_o and_o hearken_v unto_o it_o and_o consider_v of_o it_o reverent_o as_o thou_o ought_v to_o do_v as_o thou_o shall_v be_v judge_v by_o it_o as_o the_o last_o day_n and_o so_o likewise_o in_o the_o receive_n of_o the_o sacrament_n oh_o if_o we_o will_v consider_v with_o ourselves_o when_o we_o come_v to_o lie_v upon_o our_o deathbed_n we_o shall_v have_v need_n of_o comfort_n if_o we_o have_v never_o so_o much_o comfort_n and_o grace_n at_o the_o day_n of_o death_n and_o at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n we_o shall_v have_v need_n of_o all_o there_o be_v no_o comfort_n to_o be_v have_v but_o by_o our_o faith_n and_o repentance_n and_o gracious_a course_n that_o we_o have_v walk_v in_o in_o the_o time_n of_o our_o
