Light and verse 46. saith Christ I am come a Light into the World that whosoever believes in me may not abide in Darkness John 3. 21. But he that doth Truth cometh to the Light that his Deeds may be made manifest that they are all wrought in God But to the Unbelievers hear what the Scriptures say Isa 10. 17. The Light of Israel shall be for a Fire and his holy One for a Flame and it shall burn and devour his Thorns and his Briers in one Day John 3. 19 20. And this is the Condemnation that Light is come into the World and Men love Darkness rather than Light because their Deeds were Evil For every one that doth Evil hateth the Light neither cometh to the Light lest his Deeds should be reproved Eph. 5. 13 14. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the Light For whatsoever doth make manifest is Light Wherefore he saith Awake thou that Sleepest and arise from the Dead and Christ shall give thee Light 1 John 1. 7. If we walk in the Light as he is in the Light then have we fellowship one with another and the Blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all Sin 1 John 2. 10. He that loveth his Brother abideth in the Light and there is none occasion of stumbling in him The holy Scripture doth excellently set forth the true Light in Man and the precious Benefits received by believing in it and walking in it it guides to Christ the Fountain that we may be washed and know the cleansing Vertue of his Blood and thereby know a part with him Yea a holy Interest sealed to our Immortal Souls Now the Scriptures bears this Testimony to and concerning the divine Light and the Quakers own nor teach no other Light for their Guide than as the Scriptures doth thus plentifully set forth and bear Testistimony unto Therefore they that contradict the Scripture in their Testimony concerning the divine Light within and its teachings they Blaspheme the Scriptures But the Priests aforesaid do contradict the Scripture therefore they Blaspheme the holy Scripture-Testimony in saying The Light within as taught by us exposes the followers of it to Blasphemy And until they can prove that the Quakers teach another Light than what is aforementioned their Charges are returned upon themselves 1st Guilty of Blasphemy against God 2ly Guilty of Blasphemy against Jesus Christ 3ly Guilty of Blasphemy against the holy Scriptures And all this is proved upon them from their 5th Charge under their own Hands and lies upon them until they can make it appear that the Quakers hold forth something else for the Light than what the Scripture witnesseth unto concerning the divine Light which we are satisfied they can never do and indeed looks like a piece of Madness in these Undertakers that they should Charge Christ the Light within to expose to Blasphemy O! how will they answer this in the great Day of Judgment to offer such great indignity to God the Father Jam. 1. 17. of Lights O! that they might find a place of Repentance for God inlightens mankind not to expose them to Error but to shew and preserve them out of It. And Man cannot Err in following of the Light but doth always Err when he goes from or Rebels against the Light They are of those that rebel Job 24. 13. against the Light they know not the ways thereof nor abide in the Paths thereof But the Path of the Prov. 4 18. 19. Just is as a shining Light that shineth more and more unto the perfect Day The way of the wicked is as Darkness they know not at what they stumble Thus it 's plain when Man Errs he goes from the Light and therefore he is judged by the Light And if any professing the Light for their Leader do Err which they may the Light it self is not to be charged therewith because it leads Man to abstain from every appearance of Evil and to cleave to that which is Good To Rom. 12. 9. eschew Evil and do Good and live for ever more Blessed be the Name of the Lord who hath preserved the holy Scriptures that we have the Testimony thereof which are so plain concerning these divine Truths happy are they that know the Light of God's holy Spirit to inspire and inlighten Them they can say that which was written aforetime was written for our Learning that we through Patience and the Comfort Rom. 15. 4. of the Scriptures might have hope And they are truly profitable for Doctrine Reproof Correction Instruction 2 Tim. 3. 16. 17. in Righteousness that the Man of God which none can truly be but as they are led by the Spirit of Rom. 8. 14.
