thy_o grace_n i_o desire_v to_o have_v this_o great_a inflame_a desire_n pray_v and_o crave_v that_o i_o may_v participate_v with_o all_o such_o thy_o fervent_a lover_n and_o be_v number_v among_o they_o in_o their_o holy_a company_n chap._n xv._n that_o the_o grace_n of_o devotion_n be_v obtain_v by_o humility_n and_o denial_n of_o ourselves_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o belove_a thou_o ought_v to_o seek_v the_o grace_n of_o devotion_n instant_o to_o ask_v it_o earnest_o to_o expect_v it_o patient_o and_o with_o confidence_n to_o receive_v it_o grateful_o to_o keep_v it_o humble_o to_o work_v with_o it_o diligent_o and_o to_o commit_v the_o term_n and_o manner_n of_o this_o heavenly_a visitation_n to_o god_n until_o it_o shall_v please_v he_o to_o come_v unto_o thou_o thou_o ought_v chief_o to_o humble_v thyself_o when_o thou_o feel_v inward_o little_a or_o no_o devotion_n and_o yet_o not_o to_o be_v too_o much_o deject_v nor_o to_o grieve_v inordinate_o god_n often_o give_v in_o a_o short_a moment_n that_o which_o he_o have_v long_a time_n deny_v he_o give_v sometime_o in_o the_o end_n that_o which_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o prayer_n he_o defer_v to_o grant_v 2._o if_o grace_n shall_v be_v always_o present_o give_v and_o at_o hand_n ever_o with_o a_o wish_n the_o weak_a man_n can_v not_o well_o bear_v it_o therefore_o the_o grace_n of_o devotion_n be_v to_o be_v expect_v with_o good_a hope_n and_o humble_a patience_n yet_o impute_v it_o to_o thyself_o and_o thy_o sin_n when_o it_o be_v not_o give_v thou_o or_o when_o it_o be_v secret_o take_v away_o it_o be_v sometime_o a_o small_a matter_n that_o hinder_v and_o hide_v grace_n from_o we_o if_o yet_o it_o be_v to_o be_v call_v small_a and_o not_o rather_o a_o great_a matter_n that_o hinder_v so_o great_a a_o good_a and_o if_o thou_o remove_v this_o be_v it_o great_a or_o small_a and_o perfect_o overcome_v it_o thou_o shall_v have_v thy_o desire_n 3._o for_o present_o as_o soon_o as_o thou_o from_o thy_o whole_a heart_n give_v thyself_o to_o god_n and_o seek_v not_o this_o nor_o that_o for_o thy_o own_o pleasure_n or_o will_n but_o settle_v thyself_o whole_o in_o he_o thou_o shall_v find_v thyself_o unite_v and_o quiet_a for_o nothing_o will_v relish_v so_o well_o and_o please_v thou_o so_o much_o as_o the_o good_a pleasure_n of_o the_o divine_a will_n whosoever_o therefore_o with_o a_o single_a heart_n lift_v up_o his_o intention_n to_o god_n and_o purge_v himself_o from_o all_o inordinate_a love_n or_o dislike_v of_o any_o create_a thing_n he_o shall_v be_v the_o most_o fit_a to_o receive_v grace_n and_o meet_v for_o the_o gist_n of_o devotion_n for_o the_o lord_n bestow_v his_o blessing_n there_o where_o he_o find_v the_o vessel_n empty_a and_o how_o much_o the_o more_o perfect_o one_o forsake_v these_o low_a thing_n and_o the_o more_o he_o die_v to_o himself_o by_o contempt_n of_o himself_o so_o much_o the_o more_o speedy_o grace_n shall_v come_v and_o enter_v in_o more_o plentiful_o and_o raise_v up_o high_a the_o heart_n that_o be_v thus_o free_a 4._o then_o shall_v he_o see_v and_o be_v fill_v and_o wonder_v and_o his_o heart_n shall_v be_v enlarge_v within_o he_o because_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v with_o he_o and_o he_o have_v put_v himself_o whole_o into_o his_o hand_n for_o ever_o behold_v so_o shall_v the_o man_n be_v bless_v that_o seek_v god_n with_o his_o whole_a heart_n and_o busy_v not_o his_o soul_n in_o vain_a this_o man_n obtain_v the_o great_a favour_n of_o divine_a union_n in_o receive_v the_o holy_a eucharist_n for_o that_o he_o respect_v not_o his_o own_o devotion_n and_o comfort_n but_o above_o all_o devotion_n and_o comfort_n the_o honour_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n chap._n xvi_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o manifest_v our_o necessity_n to_o christ_n and_o crave_v his_o grace_n the_o voice_n of_o the_o disciple_n o_o most_o sweet_a and_o love_a lord_n who_o i_o now_o desire_v to_o receive_v with_o all_o devotion_n thou_o know_v my_o infirmity_n and_o the_o necessity_n which_o i_o endure_v with_o how_o many_o sin_n and_o evil_n i_o be_o oppress_v how_o often_o i_o be_o grieve_v tempt_v trouble_a and_o defile_v i_o come_v unto_o thou_o for_o remedy_n i_o crave_v of_o thou_o comfort_n and_o succour_n i_o speak_v to_o he_o that_o know_v all_o thing_n to_o who_o all_o my_o inward_a part_n be_v open_a and_o who_o can_v only_o perfect_o comfort_v and_o help_v i_o thou_o know_v what_o good_a thing_n i_o stand_v in_o most_o need_n of_o and_o how_o poor_a i_o be_o in_o virtue_n 2._o behold_v i_o stand_v before_o thou_o poor_a and_o naked_a call_v for_o grace_n and_o crave_v mercy_n refresh_v thy_o hungry_a beggar_n inflame_v my_o coldness_n with_o the_o fire_n of_o thy_o love_n enlighten_v my_o blindness_n with_o the_o brightness_n of_o thy_o presence_n turn_v all_o earthly_a thing_n to_o i_o into_o bitterness_n all_o thing_n grievous_a and_o cross_a into_o patience_n all_o low_a and_o create_v thing_n into_o contempt_n and_o oblivion_n lift_v up_o my_o heart_n to_o thou_o in_o heaven_n and_o suffer_v i_o not_o to_o wander_v upon_o earth_n be_v thou_o only_o sweet_a unto_o i_o
