good_a knowledge_n when_o he_o make_v his_o people_n so_o to_o know_v sin_n as_o to_o loathe_v it_o and_o to_o come_v out_o of_o it_o so_o to_o know_v repentance_n as_o to_o repent_v indeed_o second_o discrimination_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v there_o be_v some_o that_o be_v in_o he_o and_o some_o that_o be_v not_o in_o he_o if_o any_o man_n say_v he_o abide_v in_o he_o he_o ought_v himself_o reason_n because_o else_o a_o man_n defile_v the_o reas_n 1_o pulpit_n and_o profane_v the_o holy_a thing_n of_o god_n ezech._n 22._o 26._o her_o priest_n have_v violate_v my_o law_n and_o profane_v heart_n even_o so_o a_o man_n sin_n seem_v to_o be_v dead_a when_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o lust_n be_v convey_v into_o a_o high_a lust_n as_o for_o example_n suppose_v here_o be_v one_o that_o be_v a_o covetous_a worldling_n this_o man_n peradventure_o be_v very_o moderate_a and_o temperate_a he_o be_v not_o give_v to_o game_n dice_a card_v wench_v he_o be_v not_o give_v to_o building_n or_o glorious_a apparel_n but_o what_o be_v these_o sin_n dead_a in_o he_o no_o but_o the_o strength_n of_o they_o be_v carry_v up_o into_o a_o high_a lust_n for_o if_o he_o shall_v follow_v whore_v or_o game_n &c._n &c._n the_o lust_n of_o his_o covetousness_n will_v be_v curb_v and_o his_o gain_n will_v not_o come_v in_o with_o such_o a_o full_a career_n unto_o he_o now_o all_o these_o sin_n forenamed_a be_v but_o attendant_n and_o slave_n unto_o this_o one_o lust_n so_o many_o man_n it_o may_v be_v will_v give_v over_o a_o thousand_o sin_n yea_o all_o except_o this_o one_o yet_o all_o those_o thousand_o sin_n be_v not_o mortify_v nay_o it_o may_v be_v he_o scarce_o think_v upon_o any_o of_o they_o why_o because_o they_o be_v take_v up_o with_o a_o high_a lust_n even_o so_o it_o omit_v any_o holy_a communication_n they_o will_v read_v the_o scripture_n pray_v in_o their_o family_n neglect_v no_o holy_a duty_n why_o then_o what_o be_v their_o sin_n it_o be_v not_o the_o omit_v of_o these_o thing_n but_o the_o careless_a practice_n of_o they_o in_o their_o life_n and_o conversation_n for_o although_o these_o sin_n be_v in_o a_o swoon_n the_o strength_n of_o they_o be_v go_v up_o to_o maintain_v a_o high_a lust_n for_o suppose_v he_o go_v not_o to_o church_n how_o shall_v he_o maintain_v his_o profession_n and_o if_o he_o can_v not_o now_o and_o then_o speak_v of_o heaven_n it_o be_v impossible_a he_o shall_v have_v his_o depth_n of_o selfe-deceipt_n therefore_o we_o conclude_v these_o sin_n be_v not_o mortify_v they_o only_o be_v civilise_a three_o sin_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v civilise_a when_o the_o sap_n of_o sin_n be_v take_v away_o and_o no_o contrary_a grace_n infuse_v as_o for_o example_n suppose_v a_o man_n give_v over_o drunkenness_n yet_o if_o one_o of_o his_o corruption_n which_o break_v out_o against_o god_n his_o anger_n be_v not_o mortify_v suppose_v a_o man_n be_v not_o give_v over_o to_o worldly_a grief_n but_o have_v give_v it_o over_o yet_o if_o his_o grief_n be_v not_o turn_v another_o way_n as_o to_o grieve_v for_o his_o sin_n his_o grief_n be_v not_o mortify_v again_o suppose_v a_o man_n be_v not_o set_v upon_o a_o merry_a pin_n ever_o jest_v or_o tell_v forth_o merry_a tale_n but_o now_o he_o have_v give_v they_o over_o yet_o if_o he_o have_v not_o set_v his_o joy_n on_o the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o learn_v true_o to_o be_v merry_a in_o the_o lord_n it_o be_v impossible_a we_o can_v say_v his_o carnal_a mirth_n be_v mortify_v for_o as_o the_o schoolman_n say_v there_o be_v nothing_o corrupt_v till_o another_o thing_n be_v produce_v there_o be_v no_o dissolution_n of_o wood_n until_o it_o be_v turn_v into_o ash_n so_o sin_n be_v never_o take_v away_o nor_o utter_o dissolve_v until_o there_o be_v contrary_a grace_n bring_v into_o the_o heart_n instead_o thereof_o so_o than_o unless_o therebe_n contrary_a grace_n wrought_v in_o the_o heart_n as_o the_o contrary_n of_o all_o those_o sin_n forego_v they_o be_v but_o only_o civilise_a and_o not_o mortify_v four_o sin_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v civilise_a when_o it_o be_v overwharted_a by_o a_o high_a principle_n as_o when_o a_o man_n
