the_o very_a air_n as_o it_o be_v in_o which_o it_o breathe_v in_o our_o heart_n and_o mind_n to_o direct_v and_o lead_v we_o they_o therefore_o do_v evil_o that_o neglect_v the_o gospel_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n as_o breathe_v therethrough_a in_o we_o and_o take_v up_o other_o way_n and_o help_v in_o stead_n thereof_o and_o especial_o such_o as_o will_v tie_v up_o man_n to_o other_o help_n as_o form_n and_o imposition_n of_o word_n &_o frame_n as_o if_o god_n give_v not_o his_o holy_a spirit_n now_o to_o help_v his_o servant_n and_o it_o may_v be_v observe_v that_o since_o the_o give_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n to_o those_o that_o believe_v in_o christ_n we_o find_v no_o form_n of_o prayer_n invent_v propose_v or_o impose_v by_o christ_n or_o his_o apostle_n upon_o man_n as_o there_o be_v before_o he_o be_v give_v so_o to_o they_o and_o receive_v by_o they_o though_o in_o case_n of_o the_o ignorance_n and_o insufficiency_n of_o the_o ministry_n which_o yet_o the_o bishop_n ought_v not_o to_o suffer_v but_o provide_v and_o put_v in_o such_o as_o be_v sufficient_a and_o well_o qualify_v according_a to_o those_o rule_n in_o 1_o tim._n 3._o and_o tit._n 1_o or_o to_o prevent_v man_n disorderly_a praying_n that_o some_o good_a and_o unexceptionable_a form_n may_v be_v prescribe_v for_o public_a assembly_n i_o do_v not_o utter_o deny_v that_o in_o matth._n 6._o â—_o upon_o some_o such_o account_n it_o may_v seem_v that_o christ_n prescribe_v 7._o that_o possible_o man_n may_v yea_o believer_n also_o and_o too_o often_o do_v neglect_v the_o help_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n yea_o and_o may_v too_o often_o neglect_v prayer_n itself_o restrain_v prayer_n before_o god_n and_o not_o pour_v out_o their_o heart_n therein_o to_o he_o but_o seek_v by_o other_o mean_n to_o defend_v and_o keep_v themselves_o against_o the_o assault_n of_o enemy_n and_o that_o if_o they_o do_v pray_v yet_o they_o may_v not_o pray_v in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o what_o light_n and_o instruction_n he_o give_v they_o in_o and_o by_o the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n and_o in_o his_o operation_n therethrough_a in_o their_o heart_n and_o so_o in_o such_o faith_n love_n charity_n humility_n resignation_n of_o themselves_o to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n earnestness_n and_o for_o vencie_n as_o become_v they_o and_o as_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o his_o gospel_n instruct_v to_o and_o his_o holy_a spirit_n therethrough_a believe_v and_o mind_v use_v to_o work_v in_o man_n and_o frame_v their_o heart_n to_o but_o may_v possible_o as_o too_o often_o they_o do_v rest_n in_o some_o form_n or_o if_o not_o so_o yet_o pray_v in_o their_o own_o selfish_n ignorant_a carnal_a spirit_n ask_v those_o thing_n that_o suit_n their_o will_n and_o humour_n and_o lust_n their_o own_o advancement_n glory_n ease_n &c_n &c_n
spirit_n instruct_v and_o move_v they_o they_o do_v sure_o receive_v it_o of_o god_n as_o christ_n have_v promise_v say_v whatsoever_o you_o ask_v the_o father_n in_o my_o name_n i_o will_v do_v it_o from_o be_v overcome_v of_o satan_n and_o turn_v aside_o from_o the_o truth_n of_o christ_n and_o love_n of_o god_n ephes_n 6.18_o according_a to_o that_o of_o david_n in_o psal_n 18.3_o i_o will_v call_v upon_o the_o lord_n who_o be_v worthy_a to_o be_v praise_v so_o shall_v i_o be_v save_v from_o my_o enemy_n and_o the_o practice_n and_o experience_n of_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n often_o it_o bring_v not_o forth_o in_o we_o fruit_n to_o perfection_n thence_o a_o too_o great_a aptness_n to_o forsake_v the_o assembly_n of_o ourselves_o unto_o such_o purpose_n as_o to_o exhort_v and_o they_o either_o from_o satan_n as_o a_o enemy_n suggest_v fear_n to_o they_o even_o from_o their_o father_n righteous_o judge_v they_o or_o on_o other_o account_n or_o from_o the_o world_n persecute_v they_o the_o assure_a hope_n of_o god_n salvation_n or_o the_o salvation_n of_o god_n god_n sure_a protection_n and_o defence_n of_o they_o here_o and_o his_o bring_n or_o deliver_v they_o out_o in_o his_o due_a time_n as_o set_v before_o they_o by_o way_n of_o promise_n in_o the_o gospel_n and_o so_o a_o object_n and_o matter_n of_o hope_n to_o be_v look_v for_o by_o they_o and_o then_o they_o christian_n bullet_n of_o ordnance_n that_o he_o storm_v heaven_n by_o as_o it_o be_v and_o take_v it_o by_o force_n and_o that_o be_v shoot_v up_o towards_o heaven_n from_o a_o fervent_a faithful_a heart_n fall_v down_o again_o upon_o the_o wicked_a adversary_n and_o do_v great_a execution_n and_o slaughter_n upon_o they_o so_o we_o may_v see_v how_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o saint_n be_v thundering_n lightning_n and_o a_o great_a earthquake_n whereby_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o adversary_n be_v employ_v and_o signify_v now_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v consider_v it_o will_v evident_o appear_v that_o it_o be_v very_o possible_a for_o the_o believer_n to_o be_v keep_v in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n nay_o that_o it_o be_v certain_a he_o shall_v be_v so_o if_o he_o be_v not_o great_o neglective_a of_o the_o mean_n of_o his_o safety_n and_o preservation_n so_o many_o and_o so_o effectual_a for_o that_o purpose_n yea_o indeed_o a_o man_n may_v marvel_n these_o thing_n for_o the_o believer_n defence_n be_v well_o weigh_v how_o it_o shall_v possible_o be_v that_o he_o shall_v fail_v of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n fall_v out_o of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n and_o perish_v from_o his_o presence_n by_o any_o mean_n but_o that_o we_o have_v see_v the_o possibility_n and_o danger_n too_o thereof_o before_o assert_v which_o also_o may_v further_o as_o to_o the_o power_n or_o goodness_n but_o he_o be_v call_v into_o he_o and_o make_v in_o he_o of_o god_n so_o neither_o be_v it_o his_o work_n in_o his_o own_o power_n wisdom_n and_o strength_n to_o keep_v himself_o there_o or_o defend_v himself_o from_o what_o will_v entice_v he_o or_o force_v he_o out_o yet_o as_o it_o be_v his_o act_n in_o and_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n to_o believe_v and_o come_v to_o christ_n and_o so_o into_o the_o love_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n so_o it_o be_v his_o act_n also_o subordinate_o in_o and_o by_o the_o same_o grace_n to_o keep_v himself_o
