not_o one_o hour_n with_o our_o saviour_n so_o likewise_o in_o the_o philippian_n phil._n 4._o 10._o of_o who_o when_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o they_o be_v reviue_v or_o as_o the_o word_n signify_v waxen_a green_a or_o fresh_a again_o in_o their_o love_n and_o liberality_n towards_o he_o thereby_o he_o declare_v that_o for_o a_o time_n they_o be_v like_o tree_n that_o in_o the_o winter_n be_v in_o their_o widowhood_n have_v lose_v their_o leave_n and_o appear_v outward_o as_o dead_a all_o their_o sappe_n be_v in_o the_o root_n within_o and_o true_o as_o tree_n so_o faith_n also_o have_v her_o winter_n namely_o the_o storm_n and_o tempest_n of_o temptation_n which_o by_o their_o violence_n shake_v off_o all_o her_o green_a and_o glorious_a leave_n and_o so_o make_v she_o appear_v naked_a and_o desolate_a she_o be_v drive_v into_o the_o secret_a corner_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o there_o for_o a_o time_n to_o lie_v gasp_v and_o pant_v ready_a to_o give_v up_o the_o ghost_n therefore_o revel_v 3._o 2._o they_o of_o sardi_n be_v will_v to_o strengthen_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v ready_a to_o die_v faith_n of_o it_o own_o nature_n be_v very_o laborious_a and_o philemon_n faith_n may_v be_v preserve_v from_o this_o lethargy_n and_o sleepiness_n to_o the_o which_o in_o itself_o it_o be_v subject_a and_o so_o may_v show_v itself_o to_o be_v a_o lively_a and_o effectual_a faith_n second_o observe_v how_o faith_n be_v by_o satan_n doct._n 2_o craft_n cast_v into_o this_o dead_a sleep_n may_v be_v awaken_v faith_n prayer_n recover_v faint_a faith_n and_o how_o it_o may_v shake_v off_o this_o spiritual_a laziness_n namely_o by_o this_o spiritual_a exercise_n of_o prayer_n therefore_o here_o paul_n pray_v for_o philemon_z that_o his_o faith_n may_v be_v and_o apprehend_v when_o we_o lift_v up_o our_o heart_n in_o holy_a meditation_n to_o he_o who_o be_v the_o father_n of_o mercy_n and_o god_n of_o all_o consolation_n otherwise_o though_o argument_n of_o never_o so_o great_a comfort_n offer_v themselves_o unto_o we_o yet_o hardly_o shall_v we_o stay_v and_o quiet_a our_o trouble_a mind_n by_o they_o unless_o in_o think_v on_o they_o we_o do_v withal_o think_v on_o god_n break_v our_o mind_n to_o he_o in_o prayer_n and_o meditation_n and_o familiar_o communicate_v unto_o he_o what_o be_v those_o point_n of_o comfort_n we_o have_v think_v upon_o have_v we_o therefore_o in_o our_o affliction_n furnish_v and_o fortify_v our_o heart_n with_o argument_n of_o consolation_n and_o meditation_n of_o comfort_n out_o of_o the_o word_n let_v we_o pour_v they_o forth_o into_o the_o lord_n bosom_n in_o prayer_n and_o then_o we_o shall_v feel_v the_o sweetness_n of_o they_o indeed_o then_o shall_v we_o find_v our_o former_a comfort_n double_v and_o tripled_a upon_o we_o even_o as_o the_o beam_n of_o the_o sun_n receive_v a_o increase_n of_o heat_n by_o reflection_n it_o be_v the_o lord_n usual_a manner_n in_o this_o holy_a exercise_n of_o prayer_n and_o come_v with_o he_o to_o shed_v abroad_o his_o love_n abundant_o into_o the_o heart_n of_o his_o child_n thereby_o reviue_v and_o raise_v up_o their_o
