ghost_n ans._n we_o may_v not_o only_o pray_v in_o or_o by_o he_o but_o unto_o he_o for_o although_o we_o have_v no_o particular_a example_n hereof_o in_o the_o scripture_n yet_o we_o have_v sufficient_a warrant_n for_o the_o three_o person_n be_v undivided_a in_o nature_n must_v be_v also_o undivided_a in_o worship_n and_o one_o be_v worship_v all_o must_v be_v worship_v second_o we_o be_v baptize_v into_o the_o name_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n as_o well_o as_o of_o the_o father_n and_o son_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v to_o be_v pray_v unto_o even_o as_o they_o be_v ob._n but_o our_o prayer_n as_o they_o be_v answ._n the_o apostle_n here_o will_v have_v we_o observe_v a_o order_n in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o trinity_n for_o all_o the_o three_o person_n be_v author_n of_o our_o prayer_n the_o father_n and_o son_n make_v we_o to_o pray_v but_o by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n the_o holy_a ghost_n make_v we_o pray_v but_o more_o immediate_o for_o he_o be_v the_o immediate_a author_n of_o our_o prayer_n which_o teach_v that_o when_o we_o pray_v it_o be_v not_o of_o ourselves_o but_o from_o the_o spirit_n which_o stir_v and_o send_v up_o heavenly_a request_n for_o we_o herein_o than_o we_o must_v renounce_v ourselves_o magnify_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n within_o we_o and_o show_v ourselves_o thankful_a by_o entertain_v careful_o such_o holy_a motion_n of_o this_o our_o spirit_n give_v he_o our_o whole_a heart_n five_o to_o love_v all_o man_n but_o especial_o god_n saint_n and_o the_o household_n of_o faith_n affect_v the_o particular_a congregation_n and_o chief_o delight_v in_o the_o saint_n upon_o earth_n that_o excel_v in_o virtue_n thus_o walk_v with_o god_n as_o enoch_n do_v we_o shall_v escape_v this_o most_o woeful_a sentence_n which_o shall_v be_v pronounce_v against_o the_o ungodly_a one_o of_o the_o earth_n the_o second_o thing_n in_o this_o special_a judgement_n be_v the_o manner_n of_o it_o in_o the_o word_n rebuke_n god_n rebuke_v two_o way_n first_o in_o mercy_n when_o as_o in_o justice_n he_o remember_v mercy_n hab._n 3._o second_o in_o justice_n yea_o in_o anger_n and_o wrath_n psal._n 6.1_o o_o lord_n rebuke_v i_o not_o thought_n word_n and_o work_n and_o this_o the_o word_n also_o signify_v reu._n 20._o the_o book_n shall_v be_v open_v and_o all_o man_n sin_n shall_v be_v lay_v open_a that_o be_v they_o shall_v be_v so_o discover_v as_o they_o be_v convince_v shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o deny_v they_o second_o the_o punishment_n that_o shall_v follow_v that_o conviction_n so_o david_n pray_v psa._n 6._o neither_o chastise_v i_o in_o thy_o heavy_a displeasure_n doct._n hence_o we_o learn_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v full_o and_o perfect_o know_v unto_o god_n and_o all_o thing_n be_v open_a before_o he_o heb._n 4.13_o yea_o they_o be_v naked_a and_o as_o it_o be_v unquarter_v before_o his_o eye_n for_o the_o apostle_n allude_v to_o the_o cut_n up_o of_o a_o beast_n or_o the_o anatomise_v of_o the_o creature_n wherein_o man_n be_v curious_a to_o find_v out_o every_o little_a vein_n or_o muscle_n though_o they_o lie_v never_o so_o close_o even_o so_o the_o lord_n shall_v find_v out_o every_o transgression_n although_o never_o so_o secret_o conceive_v and_o conceal_v and_o that_o in_o such_o sort_n as_o he_o shall_v convince_v the_o ungodly_a man_n who_o mouth_n shall_v be_v shut_v so_o soon_o as_o ever_o his_o book_n be_v open_a which_o shall_v teach_v we_o first_o in_o matter_n of_o religion_n to_o avoid_v all_o dissemble_a and_o hypocrisy_n be_v be_v that_o in_o deed_n what_o thou_o seem_v to_o be_v for_o though_o thou_o may_v delude_v man_n thou_o can_v not_o deceive_v the_o almighty_a but_o he_o shall_v convince_v thou_o second_o let_v thy_o deal_n before_o man_n be_v plain_a simple_a without_o fraud_n covin_z or_o deceit_n for_o though_o thou_o may_v gloze_v with_o man_n who_o can_v convince_v thou_o yet_o the_o righteous_a lord_n shall_v rebuke_v thou_o for_o property_n of_o they_o be_v work_n of_o ungodliness_n second_o by_o the_o manner_n of_o perform_v they_o they_o be_v ungod_o commit_v by_o ungodly_a work_n be_v mean_v all_o sin_n against_o any_o part_n of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n whether_o in_o the_o first_o or_o second_o table_n for_o every_o sin_n though_o it_o be_v direct_o against_o man_n have_v in_o it_o a_o defect_n and_o â—_o withdraw_a of_o some_o duty_n due_a to_o god_n second_o for_o the_o manner_n these_o work_n be_v ungodly_a and_o fail_v against_o the_o law_n be_v do_v after_o a_o ungodly_a manner_n and_o that_o work_n be_v do_v ungod_o which_o proceed_v from_o a_o unrepentant_a heart_n and_o a_o mind_n addict_v and_o devote_a to_o ungodliness_n which_o be_v know_v and_o discern_v to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o by_o three_o note_n first_o because_o it_o purpose_v to_o commit_v sin_n before_o hand_n second_o heart_n in_o the_o commit_n of_o sin_n it_o be_v delight_v and_o take_v pleasure_n in_o it_o three_o after_o sin_v it_o walk_v in_o the_o same_o course_n yea_o run_v on_o in_o the_o same_o way_n without_o remorse_n or_o repentance_n and_o this_o clause_n seem_v to_o be_v add_v to_o put_v a_o difference_n between_o the_o godly_a and_o wicked_a who_o both_o of_o they_o may_v commit_v ungodliness_n and_o be_v find_v in_o ungodly_a action_n but_o not_o both_o commit_v they_o in_o a_o ungodly_a manner_n for_o the_o child_n of_o god_n before_o he_o sin_v he_o purpose_v it_o not_o yea_o he_o have_v a_o purpose_n not_o to_o sin_n so_o as_o he_o may_v say_v it_o be_v not_o only_o beside_o but_o against_o his_o purpose_n second_o in_o his_o sin_n he_o have_v a_o resist_a and_o strife_n against_o it_o and_o be_v not_o whole_o swallow_v up_o in_o the_o pleasure_n of_o it_o three_o he_o lie_v not_o in_o it_o but_o renew_v and_o recover_v himself_o again_o by_o faith_n and_o repentance_n so_o as_o though_o he_o do_v wickedness_n yet_o he_o do_v it_o not_o wicked_o but_o weak_o be_v overcome_v and_o foil_v by_o corruption_n and_o hence_o be_v it_o that_o this_o wicked_a work_n be_v find_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n child_n though_o it_o deserve_v death_n yet_o through_o grace_n it_o shall_v be_v no_o cause_n of_o his_o condemnation_n doct._n the_o principal_a cause_n of_o condemnation_n be_v not_o this_o or_o that_o sin_n but_o the_o lie_a and_o trade_v therein_o which_o argue_v a_o ungodly_a heart_n to_o commit_v ungodliness_n indeed_o make_v man_n subject_a to_o condemnation_n but_o to_o commit_v it_o ungod_o this_o bring_v swift_a judgement_n second_o wicked_a a_o wicked_a man_n sin_v not_o of_o infirmity_n for_o he_o commit_v ungodliness_n in_o a_o ungodly_a manner_n and_o trade_v in_o wickedness_n wicked_o the_o sin_n of_o infirmity_n befall_v not_o the_o graceless_a sinner_n but_o the_o regenerate_a only_o
god_n or_o no._n use_v first_o whereas_o all_o man_n good_a and_o bad_a have_v innumerable_a lust_n in_o they_o we_o be_v to_o take_v notice_n of_o the_o vileness_n and_o uncleanness_n of_o our_o nature_n which_o be_v common_a to_o the_o good_a and_o bad_a between_o who_o there_o be_v no_o difference_n but_o by_o grace_n our_o endeavour_n must_v be_v to_o see_v more_o and_o more_o these_o lust_n stir_v and_o move_v themselves_o against_o god_n and_o man_n second_o to_o mourn_v and_o bewail_v they_o three_o to_o pray_v that_o god_n will_v bury_v they_o all_o in_o the_o death_n and_o grave_n of_o his_o son_n that_o they_o stand_v not_o up_o in_o judgement_n against_o we_o be_v every_o of_o they_o sufficient_a to_o procure_v our_o eternal_a destruction_n second_o we_o must_v not_o suffer_v sin_n to_o reign_v in_o we_o us._n for_o this_o be_v the_o part_n of_o a_o ungodly_a person_n true_a it_o be_v that_o lust_n will_v be_v in_o the_o heart_n while_o a_o man_n be_v in_o the_o flesh_n but_o they_o must_v be_v resist_v that_o they_o may_v not_o reign_v and_o rule_v the_o heart_n quest._n how_o shall_v we_o keep_v under_o the_o lust_n of_o the_o heart_n from_o reign_v over_o we_o ans._n see_v sin_n reign_v in_o the_o mind_n by_o evil_a thought_n our_o thought_n on_o the_o contrary_n must_v be_v frame_v according_a to_o the_o word_n and_o order_v by_o the_o counsel_n thereof_o according_a to_o the_o apostle_n advice_n phil._n 4.8_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v honest_a virtuous_a of_o good_a report_n we_o must_v think_v of_o these_o thing_n coloss._n 3.16_o let_v the_o word_n of_o god_n dwell_v plenteous_o in_o you_o again_o lust_n reign_v in_o the_o memory_n by_o remember_v vanity_n wrong_n and_o wicked_a speech_n and_o action_n we_o must_v therefore_o remember_v etc._n we_o must_v learn_v the_o exhortation_n phil._n 2.5_o let_v the_o same_o mind_n be_v in_o you_o that_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n that_o look_n as_o christ_n be_v most_o mild_a meek_a humble_a patient_a full_a of_o love_n towards_o god_n and_o man_n so_o ought_v our_o unruly_a affection_n to_o be_v conform_v unto_o he_o and_o last_o see_v it_o reign_v in_o the_o body_n by_o idleness_n ease_n sleep_v in_o excess_n which_o make_v the_o body_n a_o instrument_n of_o sin_n we_o must_v always_o diligent_o inure_v ourselves_o to_o the_o duty_n of_o our_o calling_n use_v fast_a watch_v and_o prayer_n by_o which_o mean_v well_o observe_v the_o lust_n in_o the_o heart_n may_v still_o trouble_v and_o molest_v we_o but_o they_o shall_v not_o rule_v and_o reign_v over_o us._n use_v 3._o if_o it_o be_v the_o property_n of_o a_o wicked_a man_n to_o follow_v after_o ungodly_a lust_n we_o ought_v to_o purge_v ourselves_o from_o all_o the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o spirit_n 2._o cor._n 7.1_o lest_o these_o defile_v our_o body_n and_o soul_n in_o the_o power_n and_o part_n of_o they_o to_o do_v which_o the_o better_a 5.8_o remember_v that_o bless_a be_v the_o pure_a in_o heart_n second_o to_o inure_v ourselves_o unto_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n see_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n be_v clean_o psal._n 19_o that_o be_v it_o cleanse_v the_o heart_n and_o break_v the_o neck_n of_o all_o noisome_a lust_n vers._n 19_o these_o be_v maker_n of_o sect_n fleshly_a not_o have_v the_o spirit_n this_o verse_n contain_v the_o application_n of_o the_o former_a testimony_n unto_o the_o particular_a person_n who_o it_o concern_v set_v down_o who_o they_o be_v that_o be_v scorner_n and_o follower_n of_o their_o lust_n namely_o scorner_n be_v they_o that_o make_v sect_n separate_v themselves_o from_o the_o people_n of_o god_n and_o follower_n of_o their_o lust_n be_v those_o who_o be_v fleshly_a and_o without_o the_o spirit_n which_o word_n be_v apply_v to_o these_o seducer_n fasten_v two_o sin_n more_o upon_o they_o the_o first_o whereof_o be_v that_o they_o be_v maker_n of_o sect_n the_o second_o that_o they_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n for_o the_o former_a the_o word_n signify_v a_o single_v and_o separate_n of_o themselves_o from_o the_o church_n and_o people_n of_o god_n and_o consequent_o the_o make_n of_o sect_n to_o themselves_o neither_o may_v this_o seem_v strange_a that_o there_o shall_v be_v such_o person_n that_o make_v such_o separation_n see_v it_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o every_o sinner_n to_o fly_v from_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n of_o their_o salvation_n ob._n they_o allege_v for_o themselves_o that_o if_o they_o shall_v come_v they_o shall_v hear_v but_o a_o weak_a man_n like_o themselves_o speak_v unto_o they_o and_o if_o christ_n himself_o or_o some_o angel_n shall_v preach_v unto_o they_o they_o will_v hear_v willing_o ans._n lay_v aside_o all_o dispute_v and_o yield_v unto_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n who_o private_o yet_o the_o affection_n must_v be_v wrought_v and_o move_v in_o the_o public_a ministry_n three_o those_o that_o know_v the_o most_o know_v but_o in_o part_n and_o the_o ministry_n be_v institute_v not_o only_o to_o initiate_v and_o begin_v man_n but_o to_o confirm_v they_o in_o grace_n and_o lead_v they_o to_o perfection_n for_o which_o end_n the_o lord_n have_v give_v pastor_n and_o doctor_n of_o the_o church_n to_o teach_v man_n until_o they_o come_v unto_o a_o
