there_o will_v be_v by_o the_o good_a hand_n of_o god_n upon_o his_o servant_n notwithstanding_o their_o charge_v and_o recharge_v a_o sweet_a compliauce_n anon_o a_o yield_a and_o bend_v each_o to_o other_o way_n as_o near_o as_o can_v be_v keep_v near_o and_o close_o to_o the_o word_n and_o as_o be_v become_a brethren_n hold_v the_o unity_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o bond_n of_o peace_n i_o stand_v still_o in_o my_o spirit_n and_o full_a of_o hope_n touch_v this_o matter_n the_o meeting_n of_o both_o these_o way_n inone_o the_o good_a and_o holy_a way_n though_o true_o i_o can_v conceive_v wherein_o the_o independent_n can_v yield_v one_o foot_n or_o one_o hoof_n of_o a_o foot_n for_o they_o must_v be_v dainty_a if_o not_o imperious_a in_o god_n matter_n except_o in_o point_n of_o power_n a_o high_a point_n that_o where_o and_o in_o who_o it_o must_v be_v state_v state_n it_o where_o they_o will_v for_o i_o know_v they_o will_v state_n it_o as_o near_o as_o possible_o they_o can_v look_v to_o the_o mind_n and_o will_v of_o their_o god_n in_o his_o scripture_n but_o i_o will_v not_o have_v that_o which_o the_o scripture_n call_v the_o key_n entrust_v in_o our_o hand_n common_a people_n for_o true_o what_o ever_o we_o think_v we_o know_v yet_o be_v it_o a_o point_n of_o knowledge_n too_o high_a for_o we_o to_o know_v how_o to_o use_v they_o yet_o i_o can_v speak_v much_o more_o in_o the_o commendation_n of_o we_o layman_n than_o i_o can_v for_o the_o clergyman_n for_o when_o we_o be_v at_o the_o worst_a we_o be_v better_a than_o our_o teacher_n not_o half_o so_o brutish_a as_o they_o sound_v some_o of_o we_o when_o our_o minister_n be_v rot_v most_o

too_o upon_o man_n though_o they_o put_v no_o great_a trust_n there_o neither_o stay_n nor_o staff_n god_n know_v yet_o dependent_a upon_o man_n for_o his_o advice_n and_o counsel_n and_o accountable_a for_o their_o action_n unto_o man_n also_o who_o shall_v in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n require_v a_o account_n of_o they_o or_o of_o their_o repentance_n and_o faith_n towards_o god_n they_o will_v appeal_v to_o man_n also_o that_o be_v the_o great_a question_n so_o be_v they_o will_v appeal_v to_o the_o scripture_n thereunto_o be_v their_o great_a appeal_n to_o the_o rule_n and_o judge_n there_o so_o dependent_a these_o man_n be_v who_o we_o call_v i_o will_v we_o have_v a_o fit_a name_n since_o it_o be_v so_o ill_o understand_v and_o construe_v but_o sure_o we_o have_v not_o a_o fit_a name_n then_o independent_a for_o herein_o they_o be_v content_a and_o desire_v rather_o to_o be_v account_v and_o call_v by_o that_o name_n because_o they_o have_v conclude_v from_o their_o lord_n own_o mouth_n and_o from_o the_o practice_n of_o his_o disciple_n in_o the_o best_a time_n pure_o primative_a that_o every_o particular_a congregation_n have_v from_o christ_n absolute_a power_n to_o exercise_v of_o and_o in_o itself_o every_o ordinance_n of_o god_n no_o dependencie_n in_o government_n or_o direction_n in_o worship_n from_o any_o other_o than_o from_o christ_n their_o lord_n and_o lawgiver_n make_v unto_o his_o church_n their_o wisdom_n their_o righteousness_n their_o justification_n and_o their_o glory_n sir_n there_o be_v the_o premise_n now_o mark_v what_o these_o three_o man_n infer_v how_o they_o draw-up_a rheir_a charge_n from_o hence_o 1_o ergo_fw-la these_o independent_o be_v the_o prime_n and_o chief_a cause_n of_o our_o plague_n and_o misery_n say_v the_o first_o scribe_n 2_o ergo_fw-la these_o independent_o be_v the_o seminary_n of_o etc._n etc._n and_o open_a a_o floodgate_n to_o all_o etc._n etc._n say_v the_o lawyer_n this_o once_o and_o i_o think_v never_o but_o this_o once_o clean_o beside_o the_o case_n doubtless_o god_n have_v forgive_v he_o so_o have_v his_o good_a brethren_n too_o 3_o ergo_fw-la those_o independent_o be_v as_o abominable_a as_o be_v altar_n high-place_n the_o brazen_a serpent_n when_o make_v a_o idol_n so_o abominable_a be_v these_o man_n and_o to_o be_v deal_v with_o by_o the_o ruler_n hand_n as_o those_o dunghill_n god_n be_v deal_v withal_o when_o they_o be_v throwne-out_a as_o a_o abomination_n and_o accurse_a thing_n so_o these_o man_n shall_v be_v deal_v withal_o say_v the_o doctor_n and_o so_o conclude_v and_o yet_o have_v set_v down_o no_o premise_n take_v out_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n whence_o he_o conclude_v so_o though_o by_o his_o conclusion_n he_o have_v render_v the_o brethren_n the_o most_o odious_a man_n and_o abominable_a that_o be_v in_o the_o world_n the_o cause_n of_o all_o the_o misery_n and_o distraction_n here_o well_o let_v he_o go_v on_o so_o will_v i_o and_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o almighty_a god_n i_o will_v contest_v against_o this_o conclusion_n with_o all_o the_o power_n god_n will_v be_v please_v to_o vouchsafe_v unto_o i_o and_o though_o i_o shall_v conclude_v nothing_o yet_o i_o shall_v make_v such_o inqairy_n into_o our_o misery_n the_o cause_n thereof_o as_o that_o these_o inquiry_n only_o shall_v serve_v to_o make_v a_o full_a his_o own_o heart_n set-up_a the_o inquisition_n court_v there_o and_o so_o resolve_v the_o question_n but_o this_o be_v the_o subject_a matter_n of_o the_o three_o section_n here_o sir_n i_o have_v give_v forth_o the_o premise_n touch_v the_o independent_o and_o their_o doctrine_n as_o the_o good_a word_n of_o god_n gives-themforth_a to_o i_o and_o i_o have_v set_v down_o the_o conclusion_n which_o three_o man_n one_o after_o another_o as_o if_o all_o have_v one_o and_o the_o same_o spirit_n have_v draw_v from_o premise_n of_o their_o own_o deducible_a neither_o from_o scripture_n nor_o from_o reason_n no_o nor_o from_o sense_n neither_o unless_o their_o own_o and_o that_o darken_a with_o prejudice_n all_o along_o sure_o the_o man_n that_o have_v so_o much_o logic_n shall_v not_o have_v so_o do_v i_o suppose_v the_o other_o two_o have_v as_o myself_o and_o other_o man_n have_v very_o little_a or_o none_o at_o all_o in_o comparison_n with_o he_o but_o he_o shall_v not_o have_v so_o conclude_v against_o his_o brethren_n that_o they_o be_v as_o plague_n and_o pest_n in_o judah_n land_n even_o as_o be_v altar_n high-place_n the_o vile_a idol_n there_o and_o yet_o have_v set_v down_o no_o premise_n and_o so_o forth_o as_o aforesaid_a it_o be_v reply_v a_o that_o the_o two_o brethren_n plead_v for_o a_o toleration_n and_o that_o plead_v carry_v more_o danger_n in_o it_o to_o church_n and_o state_n than_o do_v the_o plead_n for_o the_o service-booke_n arch-bishop_n and_o bishop_n altar_n and_o organ_n cross_n and_o crucifix_n that_o these_o may_v stand_v in_o their_o full_a force_n power_n and_o virtue_n and_o from_o hence_o the_o doctor_n have_v so_o conclude_v against_o his_o brethren_n for_o the_o casting-of_a they_o all_o forth_o b._n i_o answer_v and_o grant_v that_o the_o two_o brethren_n do_v plead_v for_o a_o toleration_n not_o of_o all_o religion_n sure_a no_o nor_o of_o any_o which_o withdraw_v from_o god_n sure_o no_o sober_a man_n can_v plead_v for_o such_o a_o religion_n they_o plead_v for_o a_o toleration_n of_o that_o religion_n or_o way_n of_o worship_n which_o they_o be_v persuade_v in_o their_o soul_n drawes-nee_a to_o god_n and_o for_o toleration_n of_o these_o man_n among_o we_o who_o have_v ever_o live_v peaceable_o with_o we_o have_v speak_v good_a thing_n for_o we_o before_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n who_o doctrine_n have_v come-up_a full_o to_o the_o good_a word_n of_o god_n and_o their_o conversation_n also_o as_o become_v the_o gospel_n now_o god_n forbid_v that_o any_o rough-hand_n shall_v be_v putforth_a against_o these_o man_n yea_o god_n forgive_v our_o hard_a word_n and_o unchristian_a thought_n that_o way_n a._n but_o sure_o many_o who_o we_o call_v and_o they_o call_v themselves_o independent_a do_v think_v themselves_o exempt_a from_o all_o law_n except_o that_o law_n which_o rule_v in_o their_o member_n and_o think_v as_o the_o nimrods_n and_o giant_n of_o the_o world_n do_v think_v themselves_o accountable_a for_o their_o action_n to_o none_o but_o god_n b._n it_o be_v well_o if_o they_o can_v bethink_v themselves_o serious_o that_o they_o be_v accountable_a to_o god_n but_o so_o they_o do_v not_o think_v but_o this_o i_o know_v that_o many_o walk_v disorderly_a loose_a from_o their_o god_n the_o gospel_n and_o way_n of_o his_o worship_n but_o if_o there_o be_v any_o who_o understand_v independency_n so_o let_v they_o be_v as_o odious_a and_o abominable_a in_o man_n eye_n as_o the_o giant_n and_o nimrods_n of_o the_o world_n mighty_a hunter_n before_o the_o lord_n be_v in_o god_n eye_n and_o let_v all_o man_n come_v out_o against_o they_o as_o they_o shall_v do_v against_o such_o mighty_a oppressor_n to_o thrust_v they_o out_o of_o the_o land_n now_o let_v we_o hear_v also_o what_o be_v common_o say_v a._n that_o more_o have_v fall_v off_o from_o that_o way_n we_o call_v independent_a walk_v their_o own_o way_n follow_v their_o own_o fancy_n than_o from_o the_o other_o way_n of_o church_n government_n we_o know_v not_o how_o many_o have_v gone-out_a from_o we_o unto_o they_o be_v receive_v there_o and_o then_o have_v turn_v away_o from_o they_o again_o unto_o abominable_a way_n of_o error_n not_o to_o be_v remember_v here_o i_o answer_v b._n this_o may_v be_v and_o yet_o the_o way_n good_a and_o holy_a yea_o a_o argument_n all_o this_o of_o the_o goodness_n and_o holiness_n of_o the_o way_n because_o so_o many_o have_v turn_v to_o it_o and_o then_o quick_o away_o from_o it_o they_o went-out_a from_o we_o but_o they_o be_v not_o of_o we_o say_v the_o apostle_n and_o light_o come_v light_o go_v say_v the_o proverb_n these_o enter_v upon_o the_o way_n without_o due_a consideration_n upon_o very_o light_a motion_n before_o they_o weigh_v and_o ponder_v their_o own_o way_n or_o the_o way_n they_o be_v enter_v upon_o and_o so_o they_o be_v like_o a_o ship_n
