&_o for_o christ_n &_o his_o death_n sake_n this_o love_n and_o tender_a kindness_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o in_o christ_n be_v abundant_o herein_o declare_v in_o that_o he_o have_v to_o the_o godly_a work_n of_o creation_n of_o this_o world_n make_v we_o after_o his_o image_n redeem_v we_o be_v lose_v call_v we_o into_o his_o church_n seal_v we_o with_o his_o mark_n and_o sign_n manuel_n of_o baptism_n keep_v and_o conserve_v we_o all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n feed_v nowrish_v defend_v and_o most_o merciful_o chastise_v we_o and_o now_o have_v kindle_v in_o our_o heart_n the_o sparkle_n of_o his_o fear_n faith_n love_n and_o knowledge_n of_o his_o christ_n &_o truth_n and_o therefore_o we_o lament_v because_o we_o can_v lament_v no_o more_o our_o unthankfulness_n our_o frailness_n our_o diffidence_n and_o waver_v in_o thing_n whereof_o we_o shall_v be_v most_o certain_a all_o these_o thing_n we_o shall_v use_v as_o mean_n to_o confirm_v our_o faith_n of_o this_o that_o god_n be_v our_o god_n and_o father_n and_o to_o assure_v we_o that_o he_o love_v we_o as_o our_o father_n in_o christ_n to_o this_o end_n i_o say_v shall_v we_o use_v the_o thing_n before_o touch_v especial_o in_o that_o of_o all_o thing_n god_n require_v this_o faith_n and_o persuasion_n of_o his_o father_n by_o goodness_n as_o his_o chief_a service_n for_o before_o he_o ask_v any_o thing_n of_o we_o he_o say_v i_o be_o the_o lord_n thy_o god_n give_v himself_o and_o all_o he_o have_v to_o we_o to_o be_v our_o own_o and_o this_o he_o do_v in_o respect_n of_o himself_o of_o his_o own_o mercy_n &_o truth_n and_o not_o in_o respect_n of_o we_o for_o than_o be_v grace_n no_o more_o grace_n in_o consideration_n whereof_o when_o he_o say_v thou_o shall_v have_v none_o other_o god_n but_o i_o thou_o shall_v love_v i_o with_o all_o thy_o heart_n etc._n etc._n though_o of_o duty_n we_o be_v bind_v to_o accomplish_v all_o that_o he_o require_v and_o be_v culpable_a and_o guilty_a if_o we_o do_v not_o the_o same_o yet_o he_o require_v not_o these_o thing_n further_o of_o we_o then_o to_o make_v we_o more_o in_o love_n and_o more_o certain_a of_o this_o his_o covenant_n that_o he_o be_v the_o lord_n our_o god._n in_o certainty_n whereof_o as_o he_o have_v give_v this_o world_n to_o serve_v our_o need_n and_o commodity_n so_o have_v he_o give_v we_o his_o son_n christ_n jesus_n and_o in_o christ_n himself_o to_o be_v a_o pledge_n and_o gage_v whereof_o the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v now_o and_o then_o give_v we_o some_o taste_n and_o sweet_a feeling_n and_o smell_n to_o our_o eternal_a joy_n therefore_o as_o i_o say_v because_o god_n be_v your_o father_n in_o christ_n and_o require_v of_o you_o straight_o to_o believe_v it_o give_v yourself_o to_o obedience_n although_o you_o do_v it_o not_o with_o such_o feel_n as_o you_o desire_v note_n first_o must_v faith_n go_v before_o and_o then_o feeling_n will_v follow_v if_o our_o jmperfection_n frailty_n &_o many_o evil_n shall_v be_v occasion_n whereby_o satan_n will_v have_v we_o doubt_v as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v let_v we_o abhor_v that_o suggestion_n as_o of_o all_o other_o most_o pernicious_a for_o so_o indeed_o it_o be_v for_o when_o we_o stand_v in_o doubt_n whether_o god_n be_v our_o father_n or_o no_o we_o can_v be_v thankful_a to_o god_n we_o can_v hearty_o pray_v or_o think_v any_o thing_n we_o do_v acceptable_a to_o god_n we_o can_v love_v our_o neighbour_n and_o give_v over_o ourselves_o to_o care_n for_o they_o and_o do_v for_o they_o as_o we_o shall_v do_v and_o therefore_o satan_n be_v most_o busy_a hereabout_o know_v full_a well_o that_o if_o we_o doubt_v of_o god_n eternal_a sweet_a mercy_n in_o christ_n we_o can_v please_v god_n or_o do_v any_o thing_n as_o we_o shall_v to_o man_n continual_o cast_v he_o into_o our_o memory_n our_o jmperfection_n frailty_n folly_n and_o offence_n that_o we_o shall_v doubt_v of_o god_n mercy_n and_o favour_n towards_o us._n therefore_o my_o good_a sister_n we_o must_v not_o be_v sluggish_a herein_o but_o as_o satan_n labour_v to_o loosen_v our_o faith_n so_o must_v we_o labour_v to_o fasten_v it_o by_o think_v on_o the_o promise_n and_o covenant_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n blood_n namely_o that_o god_n be_v our_o god_n with_o all_o that_o ever_o he_o have_v which_o covenant_n depend_v and_o hang_v upon_o god_n own_o goodness_n mercy_n and_o truth_n only_o and_o not_o on_o our_o obedience_n and_o worthiness_n in_o any_o point_n for_o than_o shall_v we_o never_o be_v certain_a note_n indeed_o god_n require_v of_o we_o obedience_n and_o worthiness_n but_o not_o that_o thereby_o we_o may_v be_v make_v his_o child_n and_o he_o our_o father_n but_o because_o he_o be_v our_o father_n and_o we_o his_o child_n through_o his_o own_o goodness_n in_o christ_n therefore_o require_v he_o faith_n and_o obedience_n now_o if_o we_o want_v this_o obedience_n &_o worthiness_n which_o he_o require_v shall_v we_o therefore_o doubt_v whether_o he_o be_v our_o father_n nay_o that_o be_v to_o make_v our_o obedience_n &_o worthiness_n the_o cause_n and_o so_o to_o put_v christ_n out_o of_o place_n for_o who_o sake_n god_n be_v our_o father_n but_o rather_o because_o he_o be_v our_o father_n and_o we_o feel_v ourselves_o to_o want_v such_o thing_n as_o he_o require_v we_o shall_v be_v stir_v up_o to_o a_o holy_a blush_n and_o shamefastness_n because_o we_o be_v not_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v and_o thereupon_o shall_v we_o take_v occasion_n to_o go_v to_o our_o father_n in_o prayer_n on_o this_o manner_n dear_a father_n thou_o of_o thy_o own_o mercy_n in_o christ_n jesus_n have_v choose_v i_o to_o be_v thy_o child_n and_o therefore_o thou_o will_v i_o shall_v be_v bring_v into_o thy_o church_n and_o faithful_a company_n of_o thy_o child_n wherein_o thou_o have_v keep_v i_o hitherto_o thy_o name_n be_v praise_v therefore_o now_o i_o see_v myself_o to_o want_v faith_n hope_n love_v etc._n etc._n which_o thy_o child_n have_v and_o thou_o require_v of_o i_o wherethrough_a the_o devil_n will_v have_v i_o doubt_v yea_o utter_o to_o despair_v off_o thy_o fatherly_a goodness_n favour_n and_o mercy_n therefore_o i_o come_v to_o thou_o as_o to_o my_o merciful_a father_n through_o thy_o dear_a son_n jesus_n christ_n and_o pray_v thou_o to_o help_v i_o
