have_v no_o more_o religion_n than_o a_o horse_n all_o their_o religion_n it_o lie_v in_o the_o outside_n they_o have_v as_o little_a in_o their_o heart_n though_o they_o seem_v to_o have_v much_o on_o their_o back_n as_o any_o other_o man_n and_o indeed_o it_o be_v a_o very_a usual_a thing_n with_o many_o person_n who_o fain_o will_v be_v rellgious_a and_o love_n to_o be_v so_o account_v and_o have_v no_o stock_n within_o to_o trade_n with_o to_o drive_v on_o a_o trade_n for_o a_o while_n as_o long_o as_o they_o can_v in_o this_o way_n now_o i_o say_v when_o all_o a_o man_n religion_n lie_v in_o the_o outward_a form_n it_o be_v evident_a such_o a_o one_o put_v too_o much_o in_o it_o thus_o it_o be_v with_o the_o jew_n in_o christ_n and_o the_o apostle_n time_n their_o whole_a religion_n lie_v in_o this_o that_o they_o be_v the_o son_n of_o abrcham_n and_o circumcise_v etc._n etc._n but_o see_v what_o paul_n say_v to_o they_o rom._n 2.28_o 29._o for_o he_o be_v not_o a_o jew_n which_o be_v one_o outward_o neither_o be_v that_o circumcision_n which_o be_v outward_a in_o the_o flesh_n but_o he_o be_v a_o jew_n which_o be_v one_o inward_o and_o circumcision_n be_v that_o of_o the_o heart_n in_o the_o spirit_n and_o not_o in_o the_o letter_n who_o praise_n be_v not_o of_o man_n but_o of_o god_n 2_o when_o a_o man_n love_n and_o charity_n be_v bound_v up_o within_o the_o line_n of_o his_o own_o form_n or_o the_o way_n he_o be_v in_o or_o opinion_n he_o hold_v when_o a_o man_n have_v no_o charity_n to_o spare_v for_o any_o but_o those_o that_o jump_v with_o he_o in_o his_o own_o way_n or_o opinion_n or_o if_o he_o have_v charity_n for_o they_o yet_o because_o they_o do_v not_o full_o accord_v with_o he_o in_o every_o thing_n he_o can_v allow_v they_o but_o a_o little_a of_o his_o love_n or_o of_o the_o exercise_n of_o this_o his_o charity_n i_o have_v know_v some_o myself_o who_o have_v be_v so_o high_a against_o baptise_v of_o infant_n that_o their_o charity_n will_v not_o allow_v that_o man_n one_o grain_n of_o grace_n who_o can_v not_o set_v his_o seal_n present_o to_o this_o their_o opinion_n i_o speak_v not_o this_o to_o throw_v dirt_n in_o the_o face_n of_o any_o but_o only_o to_o show_v how_o that_o some_o man_n there_o be_v who_o put_v too_o much_o in_o form_n paul_n undoubted_o you_o will_v all_o grant_v it_o have_v as_o much_o cause_n to_o be_v confident_a of_o the_o truth_n of_o those_o ordinance_n and_o tradition_n he_o deliver_v to_o the_o church_n as_o any_o man_n now_o live_v have_v of_o his_o own_o way_n or_o opinion_n and_o yet_o he_o have_v so_o much_o charity_n as_o to_o allow_v he_o to_o be_v a_o brother_n which_o do_v not_o come_v up_o to_o his_o tradition_n 2_o thess_n 3.14_o 15._o and_o if_o any_o man_n obey_v not_o our_o word_n by_o this_o epistle_n note_v that_o man_n and_o have_v no_o company_n with_o he_o that_o he_o may_v be_v ashamed_a yet_o count_v he_o not_o as_o a_o enemy_n but_o admonish_v he_o as_o a_o word_n against_o any_o thing_n or_o principle_n by_o he_o take_v up_o it_o argue_v he_o put_v too_o much_o in_o that_o outward_a form_n though_o he_o may_v be_v in_o the_o right_a as_o to_o the_o thing_n yet_o this_o argue_v he_o to_o put_v too_o much_o in_o it_o thus_o the_o jew_n in_o the_o two_o and_o twenty_o of_o the_o act_n they_o give_v paul_n audience_n till_o he_o come_v to_o those_o word_n depart_v for_o i_o will_v send_v thou_o far_o hence_o unto_o the_o
from_o the_o next_o of_o supplication_n because_o prayer_n or_o supplication_n be_v one_o special_a grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o if_o we_o take_v the_o first_o the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n that_o be_v so_o call_v because_o it_o beget_v grace_n than_o the_o latter_a viz._n supplication_n which_o be_v one_o special_a grace_n beget_v by_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o saint_n be_v sometime_o it_o be_v take_v so_o strict_o that_o it_o may_v contain_v not_o much_o more_o time_n if_o so_o much_o as_o a_o mere_a natural_a day_n and_o so_o we_o have_v the_o day_n of_o that_o great_a battle_n of_o armageddon_n often_o call_v where_o it_o be_v speak_v of_o that_o day_n rev._n 16.14_o and_o joel_n 3._o and_o other_o place_n sometime_o it_o be_v take_v strict_o but_o not_o so_o strict_o and_o then_o it_o be_v put_v for_o the_o whole_a time_n of_o christ_n kingdom_n here_o on_o earth_n from_o the_o time_n that_o he_o set_v up_o his_o kingdom_n to_o the_o end_n and_o this_o be_v so_o frequent_o speak_v of_o in_o the_o prophet_n that_o i_o need_v name_n no_o place_n only_o i_o will_v turn_v you_o to_o one_o because_o not_o far_o from_o the_o text_n zach._n 14.6_o 7_o 8_o 9_o and_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o pass_v in_o that_o day_n that_o the_o light_n shall_v not_o be_v clear_a nor_o dark_a but_o it_o shall_v be_v one_o day_n which_o shall_v be_v know_v to_o the_o so_o may_v have_v reference_n to_o the_o time_n before_o or_o after_o the_o last_o day_n or_o the_o time_n of_o christ_n kingdom_n and_o in_o this_o sense_n it_o be_v here_o to_o be_v take_v as_o i_o conceive_v for_o the_o time_n just_a upon_o christ_n set_v up_o his_o kingdom_n when_o god_n people_n enemy_n shall_v be_v ruin_v the_o jew_n call_v and_o mourn_v as_o here_o we_o read_v of_o 2_o a_o glorious_a effect_n follow_v this_o effusion_n or_o pour_v forth_o of_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v twofold_a 1_o upon_o the_o sense_n they_o shall_v look_v upon_o i_o who_o they_o have_v pierce_v which_o word_n literal_o be_v speak_v of_o the_o jew_n who_o at_o the_o time_n of_o their_o call_n shall_v behold_v that_o jesus_n christ_n who_o their_o nation_n have_v pierce_v spiritual_o it_o be_v expression_n show_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o exceed_a great_a mourning_n and_o that_o so_o too_o as_o it_o shall_v stick_v by_o they_o it_o shall_v not_o light_o pass_v off_o their_o spirit_n and_o glide_v away_o and_o so_o be_v forget_v and_o there_o be_v no_o more_o of_o it_o as_o other_o sorrow_n do_v but_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o exceed_a great_a and_o a_o remain_a mourning_n of_o a_o resemblance_n there_o be_v in_o this_o old_a covenant_n of_o that_o great_a gift_n and_o blessing_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n which_o be_v inclusive_a of_o all_o other_o gift_n and_o blessing_n viz._n god_n donation_n of_o himself_o to_o a_o people_n the_o great_a and_o principal_a blessing_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n be_v this_o god_n donation_n of_o himself_o heb._n 8.10_o i_o will_v be_v to_o they_o a_o god_n and_o they_o shall_v be_v to_o i_o a_o people_n a_o resemblance_n there_o be_v of_o this_o in_o the_o old_a covenant_n for_o god_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o old_a covenant_n give_v himself_o in_o a_o outward_a and_o conditional_a way_n to_o israel_n with_o who_o he_o make_v this_o covenant_n and_o this_o outward_a gift_n extend_v itself_o to_o the_o whole_a trinity_n in_o reference_n to_o this_o people_n and_o this_o outward_a covenant_n make_v with_o they_o go_v under_o this_o title_n the_o lord_n thy_o god_n yet_o observe_v the_o father_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o old_a covenant_n be_v so_o their_o god_n as_o that_o in_o case_n they_o break_v covenant_n with_o he_o he_o will_v be_v their_o god_n no_o long_o therefore_o god_n be_v their_o god_n be_v give_v the_o spirit_n which_o help_v we_o to_o obey_v but_o now_o all_o obedience_n to_o the_o law_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o christ_n be_v such_o for_o to_o such_o as_o take_v the_o law_n of_o christ_n christ_n first_o give_v his_o spirit_n than_o his_o law_n as_o ezek._n 36.27_o i_o will_v put_v my_o spirit_n within_o you_o what_o then_o and_o i_o will_v cause_v you_o to_o that_o they_o can_v never_o stand_v together_o and_o therefore_o that_o grace_n may_v be_v all_o the_o law_n and_o good_a work_n shall_v be_v nothing_o at_o all_o who_o mistake_n be_v correct_v from_o what_o have_v be_v say_v and_o prove_v that_o the_o moral_a law_n remain_v a_o rule_n to_o saint_n in_o gospel-time_n 2_o a_o mistake_n of_o some_o other_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n who_o out_o of_o zeal_n for_o the_o moral_a law_n do_v hand_n over_o head_n urge_v and_o press_v the_o same_o as_o the_o rule_n of_o saint_n never_o consider_v how_o or_o in_o what_o sense_n the_o same_o remain_v a_o rule_n and_o by_o so_o do_v they_o bring_v the_o glorious_a son_n of_o zion_n the_o freeborn_a saint_n of_o the_o gospel_n under_o the_o power_n and_o command_n of_o a_o covenant_n of_o work_n ere_o they_o be_v aware_a who_o mistake_n be_v correct_v by_o distinguish_v of_o command_n as_o they_o be_v moses_n and_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o sense_n the_o law_n be_v not_o a_o saint_n rule_n and_o it_o be_v dangerous_a so_o to_o make_v it_o in_o the_o latter_a it_o be_v and_o it_o be_v sweet_a and_o comfortable_a so_o to_o receive_v it_o therefore_o you_o that_o be_v saint_n and_o believer_n hence_o learn_v two_o thing_n i_o not_o to_o reject_v the_o moral_a law_n as_o a_o rule_n to_o order_v your_o life_n and_o conversation_n by_o but_o with_o love_n delight_n and_o cheerfulness_n approve_v of_o embrace_v and_o obey_v the_o same_o 2_o not_o to_o take_v the_o moral_a law_n for_o your_o rule_n as_o it_o come_v out_o of_o moses_n his_o hand_n for_o than_o you_o bring_v yourselves_o under_o the_o power_n of_o a_o covenant_n of_o work_n and_o your_o soul_n will_v be_v continual_o fill_v with_o terror_n fear_n and_o tremble_a cover_v over_o with_o darkness_n lie_v under_o apprehension_n of_o wrath_n and_o altogether_o weak_a and_o unable_a to_o do_v what_o be_v command_v but_o take_v it_o out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o christ_n and_o then_o with_o paul_n you_o out_o of_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n into_o the_o heart_n of_o believer_n the_o first_o respect_v our_o justification_n the_o latter_a our_o sanctification_n or_o our_o obedience_n and_o walk_v now_o as_o christ_n crucify_v be_v the_o great_a principle_n in_o the_o business_n of_o our_o justification_n whence_o alone_o that_o flow_v from_o the_o know_v and_o believe_v on_o a_o crucify_a christ_n so_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o saint_n be_v the_o great_a principle_n in_o the_o matter_n of_o our_o obedience_n whence_o that_o flow_v hence_o rom._n 8._o the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v say_v to_o be_v lead_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n i.e._n the_o spirit_n do_v not_o only_o teach_v a_o believer_n what_o be_v his_o duty_n but_o do_v as_o it_o be_v take_v he_o by_o the_o hand_n and_o lead_v he_o to_o it_o help_n and_o guide_v he_o in_o it_o there_o be_v more_o hold_v forth_o in_o the_o word_n lead_v than_o in_o teach_v i_o teach_v another_o when_o i_o write_v he_o a_o copy_n and_o lay_v it_o before_o he_o and_o tell_v he_o how_o he_o shall_v hold_v his_o pen_n and_o order_n and_o guide_v his_o hand_n but_o now_o when_o i_o do_v not_o only_o do_v this_o but_o take_v his_o hand_n in_o i_o and_o write_v therewith_o i_o may_v be_v better_o say_v to_o guide_v or_o lead_v he_o so_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n teach_v a_o believer_n when_o it_o make_v discovery_n of_o any_o truth_n to_o he_o he_o be_v ignorant_a of_o before_o and_o show_v he_o what_o duty_n that_o truth_n call_v for_o from_o he_o but_o when_o it_o do_v not_o only_o do_v this_o into_o the_o thing_n of_o he_o gospel_n in_o a_o notional_a way_n as_o he_o take_v up_o these_o thing_n by_o relation_n of_o other_o and_o believe_v and_o give_v credit_n to_o those_o principle_n which_o thou_o may_v know_v it_o 1_o by_o the_o present_a light_n and_o life_n it_o bring_v with_o it_o first_o if_o it_o be_v in_o matter_n of_o teach_v that_o it_o go_v before_o thou_o it_o bring_v light_a which_o be_v a_o inward_a discovery_n in_o a_o way_n of_o spiritual_a reason_n and_o demonstration_n of_o the_o thing_n it_o teach_v to_o the_o soul_n carry_v with_o it_o a_o strong_a and_o like_o a_o cup_n of_o poison_n it_o shall_v set_v they_o all_o on_o tremble_v and_o instead_o of_o ruine_v jerusalem_n they_o shall_v be_v ruin_v by_o she_o and_o again_o vers_fw-la 3._o in_o that_o
