bitter_a upon_o the_o conscience_n and_o then_o his_o profession_n of_o religion_n be_v the_o pill_n he_o roul_v about_o in_o his_o mouth_n to_o take_v away_o the_o bitterness_n of-sin_n taste_v 4._o natural_a conscience_n enlighten_v by_o the_o word_n may_v discover_v to_o a_o man_n much_o of_o the_o misery_n of_o a_o natural_a state_n though_o not_o effectual_o to_o bring_v he_o out_o of_o it_o yet_o so_o as_o to_o make_v he_o restless_a and_o weary_a in_o it_o it_o may_v show_v a_o sinner_n his_o nakedness_n and_o hereupon_o the_o soul_n run_v to_o a_o life_n of_o duty_n think_v hereby_o spirit_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o sinner_n heart_n by_o the_o word_n whereby_o the_o guilt_n and_o filth_n of_o sin_n be_v full_o discover_v and_o the_o woe_n and_o misery_n of_o a_o natural_a state_n distinct_o set_v home_o upon_o the_o conscience_n to_o the_o dread_n and_o terror_n of_o the_o sinner_n whilst_o he_o abide_v in_o that_o state_n and_o condition_n and_o this_o be_v the_o conviction_n that_o be_v a_o sound_n and_o through_o work_n many_o have_v their_o conviction_n but_o not_o this_o spiritual_a conviction_n quere_z quere_z now_o you_o will_v say_v suppose_v i_o be_o at_o any_o open_a sin_n but_o to_o secret_a lust_n to_o inward_a and_o spiritual_a sin_n and_o if_o so_o this_o be_v a_o sure_a sign_n of_o the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n because_o the_o trouble_n occasion_v by_o these_o sin_n bear_v a_o more_o immediate_a relation_n to_o the_o holiness_n of_o god_n who_o only_o be_v offend_v by_o they_o they_o be_v such_o as_o none_o else_o can_v see_v or_o know_v 2._o cause_n that_o the_o seed_n be_v say_v to_o wither_v away_o mat._n 13.5_o 6._o be_v be_v because_o it_o have_v no_o deepness_n of_o earth_n where_o there_o be_v a_o through_o conviction_n there_o be_v a_o depth_n of_o earth_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o there_o the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n grow_v but_o where_o conviction_n be_v slight_a and_o common_a there_o the_o seed_n wither_v for_o want_v of_o little_a service_n so_o that_o christian_n that_o do_v not_o come_v well_o off_o the_o loom_n that_o have_v not_o a_o through_o work_n of_o grace_n in_o his_o heart_n will_v never_o wear_v well_o he_o
