unnecessary_a and_o unprofitable_a thing_n in_o these_o case_n we_o pray_v your_o lordship_n to_o resolve_v we_o out_o of_o holy_a writ_n whether_o the_o apostle_n rule_v of_o have_v all_o thing_n to_o be_v do_v decent_o and_o according_a to_o order_n in_o the_o church_n cease_v not_o for_o how_o shall_v those_o thing_n be_v do_v decent_o and_o orderly_o in_o the_o church_n for_o the_o which_o the_o church_n have_v no_o warrant_n that_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v do_v at_o all_o the_o apostle_n then_o have_v teach_v the_o corinthian_n that_o the_o thing_n 40._o which_o he_o write_v be_v the_o commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o conclude_v that_o all_o thing_n treat_v of_o by_o he_o in_o the_o former_a part_n of_o that_o chapter_n touch_v the_o right_a use_n of_o spiritual_a gift_n be_v to_o be_v do_v decent_o and_o in_o order_n we_o demand_v whether_o your_o lordship_n from_o this_o apostolical_a rule_n can_v religious_o conclude_v any_o otherwise_o then_o thus_o all_o the_o commandment_n and_o all_o the_o spiritual_a gift_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v to_o be_v do_v and_o use_v in_o the_o church_n decent_o and_o orderly_o but_o the_o wear_n of_o a_o surplice_n in_o time_n of_o prayer_n and_o administration_n of_o sacrament_n the_o make_n of_o a_o cross_n upon_o the_o child_n forehead_n etc._n etc._n and_o kneel_v in_o the_o act_n of_o receyve_v bread_n and_o wine_n at_o the_o lord_n table_n be_v spiritual_a gift_n or_o at_o leastwise_o be_v the_o commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n therefore_o these_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v do_v decent_o and_o in_o order_n but_o now_o if_o your_o lordship_n be_v not_o able_a to_o strengthen_v your_o minor_a proposition_n by_o any_o place_n of_o holy_a writ_n shall_v make_v the_o same_o answer_n which_o the_o romanistes_n frame_n in_o all_o like_a case_n for_o the_o authority_n of_o their_o church_n namely_o that_o the_o minister_n and_o people_n ought_v preciselie_o to_o observe_v and_o do_v these_o thing_n if_o not_o propter_fw-la authoritatem_fw-la apostolicam_fw-la yet_o propter_fw-la authoritatem_fw-la ecclesiae_fw-la seu_fw-la christiani_n magistratus_fw-la sic_fw-la statuentis_fw-la then_o do_v your_o lordship_n but_o as_o they_o do_v even_o run_v from_o the_o rock_n and_o buyld_v upon_o the_o sand_n yea_o and_o beside_o flee_v from_o the_o point_n in_o question_n make_v the_o church_n and_o christian_a magistrate_n not_o only_o to_o be_v preserver_n but_o commander_n of_o all_o evangelicall_n decency_n and_o order_n and_o then_o may_v not_o this_o consecution_n and_o conclusion_n infallible_o be_v true_a what_o soever_o thing_n by_o the_o church_n with_o consent_n of_o the_o christian_a magistrate_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v appoint_v for_o evangelicall_n decency_n and_o order_n in_o the_o church_n the_o same_o without_o all_o exception_n and_o challenge_v of_o any_o undecency_n or_o disorder_n must_v and_o aught_o to_o be_v receyve_v of_o every_o member_n of_o the_o church_n for_o decent_a and_o orderly_a thing_n but_o all_o such_o and_o such_o thing_n by_o the_o church_n with_o consent_n of_o the_o christian_a magistrate_n be_v appoint_v etc._n etc._n therefore_o all_o such_o and_o such_o thing_n must_v &_o aught_o without_o all_o exception_n be_v receyve_v etc._n etc._n yea_o sir_n and_o be_v not_o this_o a_o good_a consecution_n and_o do_v not_o this_o bb._n conclusion_n necessary_o follow_v for_o who_o shall_v be_v judge_n of_o evangelicall_n decency_n and_o order_n if_o not_o the_o church_n and_o christian_a magistrate_n alone_a before_o we_o answer_v unto_o this_o question_n we_o deny_v your_o proposition_n gentl._n because_o the_o same_o seem_v unto_o we_o to_o be_v rather_o a_o inversion_n than_o a_o true_a conversion_n of_o the_o apostle_n rule_v viz._n let_v all_o thing_n be_v do_v decent_o and_o in_o order_n 4●_n the_o meaning_n whereof_o according_a to_o the_o analogy_n of_o the_o place_n we_o take_v to_o be_v this_o namely_o that_o all_o thing_n or_o what_o soever_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v do_v in_o the_o church_n that_o the_o same_o thing_n ought_v to_o be_v do_v decent_o and_o in_o order_n but_o what_o agreement_n we_o pray_v you_o have_v this_o rule_n with_o your_o proposition_n or_o what_o coherence_n have_v your_o proposition_n with_o this_o rule_n for_o by_o what_o art_n can_v you_o frame_v this_o your_o proposition_n upon_o the_o apostle_n foundation_n this_o your_o proposition_n we_o say_v namely_o all_o thing_n or_o whatsoever_o thing_n the_o church_n with_o consent_n of_o the_o christian_a magistrate_n shall_v authorise_v for_o decency_n and_o order_n the_o same_o be_v all_o decent_a and_o orderly_a thing_n indeed_o if_o this_o your_o proposition_n can_v be_v prove_v true_a by_o any_o doctrine_n draw_v from_o any_o other_o place_n of_o holy_a writ_n we_o will_v easy_o grant_v the_o church_n with_o consent_n of_o the_o christian_n magistrate_n have_v command_v cope_n surplice_n cross_n kneel_n etc._n etc._n to_o be_v use_v in_o the_o church_n that_o this_o the_o apostle_n rule_n do_v bind_v all_o those_o to_o kneel_v to_o make_v cross_n and_o to_o wear_v cope_n and_o surplice_n not_o ungayne_o disorderly_a or_o slovenly_a but_o comely_a handsome_o and_o nete_o but_o see_v your_o proposition_n be_v false_a and_o can_v not_o by_o any_o other_o place_n of_o holy_a scripture_n be_v prove_v true_a you_o have_v draw_v in_o the_o apostle_n rule_v as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o hair_n and_o pluck_v it_o in_o as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o heel_n to_o a_o wrong_a purpose_n and_o force_v it_o to_o a_o wrong_n sense_n furthermore_o because_o these_o word_n decency_n and_o order_n mention_v in_o your_o proposition_n carry_v a_o double_a sense_n we_o pray_v your_o lordship_n to_o resolve_v we_o whether_o by_o these_o word_n decency_n &_o order_n you_o mean_v simple_o such_o a_o decency_n and_o such_o a_o order_n as_o for_o the_o allowance_n whereof_o plain_n and_o evident_a testimony_n may_v be_v find_v in_o holy_a writ_n that_o the_o same_o decency_n and_o order_n be_v please_v unto_o god_n or_o whether_o you_o mean_v such_o a_o decency_n and_o order_n only_o as_o for_o the_o which_o we_o have_v no_o other_o warrant_n
