thing_n than_o be_v thus_o 〈◊〉_d let_v we_o be_v in_o any_o condition_n that_o once_o we_o may_v be_v free_v from_o this_o sinful_a and_o accurse_a condition_n in_o which_o we_o be_v we_o have_v terrible_a a_o god_n then_o they_o that_o care_v not_o for_o his_o word_n and_o counsel_n crave_v his_o prayer_n oh_o pray_v for_o we_o say_v they_o for_o we_o have_v sin_v and_o to_o all_o our_o other_o sin_n have_v add_v this_o in_o ask_v for_o a_o king_n samuel_n to_o prevent_v the_o deadly_a symptom_n of_o desperate_a discouragement_n which_o will_v drive_v they_o from_o the_o lord_n and_o so_o from_o their_o own_o comfort_n head_n you_o have_v indeed_o sin_v yet_o turn_v you_o not_o aside_o from_o follow_v the_o lord_n and_o again_o he_o add_v turn_v not_o aside_o unto_o vain_a thing_n that_o can_v help_v and_o he_o give_v this_o as_o a_o ground_n for_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o forsake_v his_o people_n for_o his_o great_a name_n sake_n because_o it_o have_v please_v the_o lord_n himself_o lay_v a_o man_n present_a comfort_n and_o future_a hope_n waste_v at_o once_o beyond_o the_o reach_n of_o any_o relief_n or_o recovery_n put_v the_o soul_n beyond_o the_o sight_n and_o expectation_n of_o any_o succour_n and_o supply_v that_o may_v support_v it_o in_o the_o least_o measure_n that_o look_v as_o when_o the_o ship_n run_v a_o ground_n or_o split_v upon_o a_o rock_n near_o shore_n or_o within_o the_o sight_n of_o land_n there_o be_v yet_o a_o possibility_n that_o some_o help_n may_v come_v from_o the_o coast_n to_o they_o or_o they_o at_o least_o may_v be_v waft_v to_o land_n and_o so_o swim_v out_o
and_o do_v more_o cheer_n and_o quicken_v and_o comfort_n in_o a_o cordial_a manner_n so_o it_o be_v in_o the_o soul_n by_o the_o daily_a muse_n and_o act_v of_o our_o thought_n upon_o the_o occasion_n of_o any_o corruption_n present_v our_o meditation_n be_v the_o distillation_n which_o draw_v out_o the_o spirit_n of_o pride_n or_o passion_n or_o lust_n and_o become_v marvellous_o confirm_v in_o these_o and_o transport_v by_o these_o to_o our_o spiritual_a prejudice_n they_o grow_v strong_a in_o we_o and_o we_o under_o the_o power_n of_o they_o thus_o jonah_n while_o he_o sit_v down_o in_o a_o muddy_a distemper_n and_o attend_v the_o vanity_n of_o his_o own_o thought_n he_o row_v drink_v with_o his_o passion_n so_o that_o he_o neither_o know_v god_n nor_o himself_o not_o only_o do_v that_o which_o be_v naught_o but_o he_o will_v 〈◊〉_d that_o which_o he_o do_v i_o do_v well_o to_o be_v angry_a unto_o the_o death_n say_v he_o hence_o it_o be_v the_o apostle_n suggest_v and_o maintain_v of_o any_o distemper_n when_o we_o let_v our_o thought_n loose_a to_o view_v the_o compass_n 〈◊〉_d any_o harsh_a carriage_n and_o injurious_a deal_n we_o make_v provision_n for_o anger_n and_o revenge_n and_o the_o heart_n come_v to_o be_v carry_v with_o violence_n of_o wrath_n and_o rage_n thus_o and_o thus_o he_o deal_v with_o i_o so_o unkind_o so_o injurious_o and_o that_o to_o my_o disparagement_n in_o the_o presence_n of_o such_o and_o this_o set_v he_o all_o on_o a_o flame_n when_o we_o poor_a upon_o our_o infirmity_n and_o weakness_n we_o provide_v for_o discouragement_n and_o we_o sit_v and_o sink_v down_o under_o they_o and_o so_o strengthen_v those_o corruption_n that_o otherwise_o have_v receive_v their_o death_n wound_n and_o will_v be_v weaken_v and_o waste_v away_o as_o it_o be_v with_o old_a decay_a body_n which_o be_v subject_a to_o faint_a fit_n and_o be_v ever_o and_o anon_o swoon_v away_o the_o pour_v in_o of_o some_o cordial_a water_n will_v fetch_v they_o up_o again_o and_o add_v new_a strength_n and_o cheer_n the_o flesh_n here_o be_v original_a corruption_n the_o old_a man_n which_o in_o the_o saint_n be_v die_v away_o and_o decay_v daily_o but_o our_o meditation_n put_v as_o it_o be_v aqua_fw-la aquavitae_fw-la into_o the_o old_a man_n mouth_n add_v vigour_n afresh_o and_o sometime_o make_v it_o with_o violence_n to_o prevail_v last_o while_o the_o swarm_n of_o vain_a imagination_n keep_v thoroughfare_a in_o our_o mind_n and_o the_o noisome_a steam_n of_o sinful_a affection_n be_v rise_v boil_a and_o bubble_v in_o our_o bosom_n there_o be_v little_a expectation_n that_o the_o power_n of_o any_o mean_n shall_v come_v in_o upon_o the_o soul_n or_o prevayl_n with_o it_o for_o good_a the_o crowd_n of_o imagination_n stop_v the_o passage_n so_o that_o there_o be_v no_o come_n to_o speech_n with_o the_o soul_n the_o hurry_v of_o 〈◊〉_d to_o transport_v it_o and_o take_v up_o the_o whole_a strength_n of_o it_o that_o it_o can_v neither_o attend_v nor_o stay_v upon_o any_o thing_n beside_o 2_o cor._n 10._o 4._o therefore_o call_v the_o strong_a hold_n where_o satan_n intrench_v and_o fortify_v
