depend_v only_o wife_n on_o the_o husband_n even_o so_o the_o honour_n of_o all_o depend_v only_o of_o the_o woman_n in_o such_o sort_n that_o there_o be_v no_o honour_n within_o the_o house_n long_o than_o a_o man_n wife_n be_v honourable_a and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n call_v the_o woman_n the_o glory_n of_o the_o man_n but_o here_o it_o must_v be_v note_v and_o remember_v 7._o that_o we_o do_v not_o entitle_v honourable_a to_o such_o as_o be_v only_o beautiful_a comely_a of_o face_n of_o gentility_n of_o comely_a personage_n and_o a_o good_a huswife_n but_o only_o to_o she_o that_o be_v virtuous_a honest_a of_o life_n temperate_a and_o advise_v in_o her_o speech_n 3._o the_o last_o point_n be_v that_o the_o husband_n love_n point_n cherish_v and_o nourish_v his_o wife_n even_o as_o his_o own_o body_n and_o as_o christ_n love_v his_o church_n and_o give_v himself_o for_o it_o to_o sanctify_v it_o and_o this_o point_n be_v plain_o prove_v by_o the_o apostle_n paul_n as_o be_v sufficient_o declare_v in_o the_o second_o point_n there_o be_v few_o husband_n or_o wife_n that_o know_v in_o truth_n how_o they_o shall_v love_v one_o the_o other_o if_o a_o man_n love_v his_o wife_n only_o for_o these_o respect_n because_o she_o be_v rich_a beautiful_a noble_a or_o because_o she_o content_v and_o please_v he_o after_o the_o sensual_a appetite_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o for_o such_o like_a cause_n that_o be_v no_o true_a love_n before_o god_n for_o such_o love_n may_v be_v among_o harlot_n and_o whore_n yea_o among_o bruit_n beast_n but_o a_o christian_a husband_n 7._o must_v love_v his_o wife_n chief_o because_o she_o be_v his_o sister_n in_o the_o 〈◊〉_d of_o the_o sound_n and_o christian_a religion_n 〈◊〉_d so_o a_o inheritor_n with_o he_o of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n and_o he_o must_v also_o love_v she_o for_o her_o virtue_n as_o for_o her_o shamefastness_n modesty_n chastity_n diligence_n patience_n faithfulness_n temperance_n secrecy_n obedience_n and_o such_o like_a christian_a quality_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n yea_o although_o she_o be_v but_o hard_o favour_v &_o of_o poor_a parentage_n but_o as_o we_o will_v that_o the_o man_n when_o he_o love_v shall_v remember_v his_o superiority_n so_o we_o will_v that_o when_o he_o rule_v he_o neither_o forget_v to_o love_v nor_o to_o temper_v his_o love_n with_o gravity_n and_o when_o he_o do_v think_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o head_n and_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o woman_n as_o it_o be_v the_o flesh_n and_o the_o body_n he_o ought_v in_o like_a manner_n to_o remember_v that_o she_o be_v his_o fellow_n and_o companion_n of_o his_o good_n and_o labour_n and_o that_o their_o child_n be_v common_a between_o they_o bone_n of_o the_o bone_n and_o flesh_n of_o the_o flesh_n of_o man_n and_o thus_o there_o shall_v be_v in_o wedlock_n a_o certain_a sweet_a and_o pleasant_a conversation_n without_o the_o which_o it_o be_v no_o marriage_n but_o a_o prison_n a_o hatred_n and_o a_o perpetual_a torment_n of_o the_o mind_n so_o that_o the_o husband_n must_v let_v his_o wife_n perceive_v and_o know_v that_o for_o the_o good_a opinion_n that_o he_o have_v of_o she_o he_o do_v love_v she_o simple_o and_o faithful_o and_o not_o for_o any_o utility_n or_o pleasure_n for_o who_o so_o do_v not_o perceive_v that_o he_o be_v belove_v for_o his_o own_o sake_n will_v not_o light_o do_v the_o same_o to_o another_o for_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v love_v love_v again_o if_o money_n or_o nobility_n can_v perceive_v and_o understand_v that_o they_o be_v belove_v they_o will_v if_o they_o have_v any_o feel_n at_o all_o of_o love_n requite_v it_o with_o love_n but_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v love_v in_o as_o much_o as_o it_o may_v love_v it_o give_v love_n for_o love_n and_o love_v again_o the_o breaker_n of_o horse_n that_o do_v use_v to_o ride_v and_o pace_v they_o do_v handle_v the_o rough_a and_o sturdy_a colt_n with_o all_o craft_n rigour_n and_o fierceness_n that_o may_v be_v but_o with_o the_o colt_n that_o be_v more_o tractable_a he_o take_v not_o so_o great_a pain_n a_o sharp_a and_o shrewd_a wife_n must_v be_v please_v and_o mitigate_v with_o love_n and_o rule_v with_o authority_n and_o the_o more_o gentle_o thou_o do_v use_v and_o show_v thyself_o unto_o she_o that_o be_v meek_a and_o honest_a the_o more_o benign_a and_o meek_a thou_o shall_v find_v she_o but_o she_o that_o be_v noble_a and_o of_o a_o stout_a mind_n and_o stomach_n the_o less_o thou_o do_v look_v to_o be_v honour_v the_o more_o she_o will_v obey_v and_o honour_v thou_o but_o yet_o all_o injury_n and_o all_o evil_n as_o his_o own_o body_n for_o like_a as_o the_o head_n 〈◊〉_d and_o hear_v for_o the_o whole_a body_n rule_v and_o guide_v the_o body_n and_o give_v it_o strength_n husband_n have_v obtain_v that_o his_o wife_n do_v true_o and_o hearty_o love_v he_o there_o shall_v then_o need_v neither_o precept_n nor_o law_n for_o love_n shall_v teach_v she_o more_o thing_n and_o more_o effectual_o than_o all_o the_o precept_n of_o all_o the_o philosopher_n he_o ought_v therefore_o to_o endeavour_v and_o more_o force_v himself_o that_o his_o wife_n may_v love_v he_o overcome_v herself_o with_o virtue_n as_o the_o husband_n ought_v to_o love_v his_o wife_n tender_o so_o from_o she_o as_o from_o a_o kinsfolk_n fountain_n he_o must_v extend_v his_o love_n also_o unto_o her_o parent_n and_o kinsfolk_n to_o the_o end_n that_o they_o may_v well_o know_v and_o perceive_v how_o great_o their_o cousin_n do_v aid_n and_o help_v they_o and_o that_o she_o in_o like_a manner_n may_v understand_v that_o his_o benevolence_n and_o love_n to_o she_o be_v such_o that_o it_o redound_v among_o her_o friend_n and_o parent_n and_o of_o this_o he_o shall_v receive_v no_o lead_v their_o line_n in_o chastity_n and_o holiness_n next_o to_o avoid_v fornication_n so_o that_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o husband_n and_o the_o wife_n consist_v in_o this_o that_o they_o live_v together_o in_o all_o chastity_n and_o pureness_n and_o that_o they_o take_v great_a heed_n and_o beware_v of_o break_v the_o bond_n and_o infringe_v and_o violate_v the_o say_v of_o marriage_n by_o fornication_n or_o adultery_n which_o be_v a_o detestable_a sin_n in_o the_o sight_n both_o of_o god_n and_o man_n if_o such_o as_o want_v the_o remedy_n of_o marriage_n by_o commit_v fornication_n do_v incur_v a_o offence_n worthy_a everlasting_a damnation_n what_o may_v those_o deserve_v who_o have_v
with_o benign_a sweet_a and_o gentle_a conversation_n until_o it_o be_v so_o increase_v and_o fasten_v that_o no_o great_a storm_n be_v able_a to_o dissolve_v and_o break_v it_o and_o all_o suspicion_n must_v be_v at_o all_o time_n but_o especial_o at_o the_o begin_n of_o matrimony_n eschew_v and_o shun_v lest_o they_o shall_v first_o begin_v to_o hate_v or_o ever_o they_o begin_v to_o
