holiness_n follow_a even_o as_o when_o water_n be_v bring_v from_o a_o fountain_n or_o spring_n to_o any_o place_n somewhat_o distant_a by_o pipe_n of_o wood_n lead_z or_o clay_n the_o first_o pipe_n respect_n first_o because_o man_n in_o the_o very_a moment_n of_o sin_v do_v make_v himself_o guilty_a of_o eternal_a death_n and_o so_o he_o be_v once_o dead_a can_v raise_v himself_o up_o again_o or_o make_v himself_o capable_a of_o holiness_n muchlesse_a work_n it_o full_o and_o perfect_o in_o himself_o second_o if_o that_o this_o be_v attribute_v to_o the_o patience_n and_o long_o suffer_v of_o god_n that_o man_n be_v not_o straight_o way_n as_o soon_o as_o he_o sin_v utter_o destroy_v and_o so_o consume_v to_o nought_o by_o the_o anger_n of_o god_n but_o that_o he_o do_v still_o exist_v in_o nature_n and_o so_o consequent_o be_v not_o altogether_o uncapable_a oâ—_n holiness_n yet_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o he_o either_o to_o shake_v off_o that_o original_a sin_n which_o cleave_v inseparable_o to_o his_o nature_n or_o yet_o to_o fulfil_v the_o law_n of_o god_n by_o actual_a obedience_n both_o which_o be_v needful_a for_o perfect_a holiness_n last_o if_o man_n can_v not_o only_o do_v away_o his_o sin_n already_o commit_v but_o also_o restore_v himself_o to_o his_o first_o integrity_n yet_o this_o will_v not_o serve_v for_o his_o eternal_a salvation_n because_o he_o be_v as_o like_a to_o fall_v away_o again_o from_o god_n as_o he_o be_v before_o so_o that_o before_o man_n can_v be_v join_v again_o to_o god_n in_o happiness_n he_o must_v do_v four_o thing_n whereof_o every_o one_o be_v altogether_o impossible_a to_o be_v perform_v either_o by_o man_n himself_o or_o by_o any_o other_o creature_n first_o he_o must_v by_o sustain_v eternal_a death_n satisfy_v the_o justice_n of_o god_n for_o his_o sin_n already_o commit_v the_o which_o if_o he_o do_v as_o he_o must_v do_v if_o god_n be_v just_a that_o be_v if_o he_o be_v god_n how_o can_v he_o natural_a wit_n of_o aristotle_n the_o learning_n of_o the_o great_a philosopher_n the_o divine_a spirit_n of_o the_o southsayre_n what_o can_v they_o all_o say_v to_o the_o first_o question_n how_o will_v they_o make_v man_n to_o live_v who_o must_v die_v for_o ever_o they_o will_v confess_v that_o death_n and_o life_n can_v be_v together_o and_o therefore_o they_o must_v come_v to_o this_o last_o refuge_n that_o man_n shall_v not_o die_v in_o his_o own_o person_n but_o get_v some_o other_o to_o die_v for_o he_o and_o so_o satisfy_v god_n justice_n well_o this_o be_v good_a payment_n if_o he_o who_o die_v for_o man_n be_v in_o nature_n and_o dignity_n equivalent_a to_o he_o but_o where_o shall_v this_o mediator_n be_v find_v as_o touch_v man_n every_o one_o desire_v to_o live_v and_o abhor_v death_n yea_o no_o man_n will_v die_v for_o a_o just_a man_n much_o less_o for_o a_o sinner_n but_o yet_o perhaps_o some_o one_o will_v find_v such_o a_o friend_n as_o will_v not_o
