where_o there_o be_v no_o preach_n at_o all_o of_o the_o gospel_n o_o m._n powel_n and_o you_o my_o reverend_a father_n and_o brethren_n in_o the_o ministry_n even_o of_o the_o conformable_a sort_n flatter_v not_o yourselves_o in_o this_o behalf_n but_o behold_v and_o pity_v the_o woeful_a and_o lamentable_a stat_fw-la of_o our_o church_n in_o these_o thing_n but_o to_o return_v herein_o you_o err_v not_o a_o little_a in_o that_o you_o confound_v the_o state_n of_o the_o church_n and_o of_o the_o common_a wealth_n of_o the_o jew_n the_o common_a wealth_n be_v indeed_o at_o that_o time_n in_o much_o misery_n but_o be_v the_o church_n also_o among_o they_o for_o such_o thing_n as_o wheerin_o chief_o consist_v misery_n in_o as_o bad_a condition_n have_v they_o not_o those_o officer_n that_o god_n have_v prescribe_v be_v the_o priest_n and_o levit_n either_o so_o ignorant_a or_o so_o idle_a or_o so_o scandalous_a as_o many_o call_v minister_n among_o we_o be_v the_o faithful_a and_o painful_a priest_n and_o levite_n so_o urge_v to_o the_o observation_n of_o man_n tradition_n and_o ceremony_n in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n and_o otherwise_o so_o molest_v as_o now_o many_o godly_a minister_n be_v be_v the_o people_n so_o blind_a so_o irreligious_a so_o unrighteous_a as_o now_o they_o be_v be_v the_o godly_a force_v to_o hear_v dumb_a dog_n or_o corrupt_a teacher_n or_o restrain_v from_o hear_v of_o those_o that_o preach_v wholesome_a doctrine_n or_o urge_v to_o communicate_v with_o the_o preiste_n in_o human_a ceremony_n to_o the_o grief_n of_o their_o soul_n and_o wound_v of_o their_o conscience_n as_o many_o now_o be_v the_o lord_n give_v you_o all_o such_o consideration_n of_o these_o thing_n that_o you_o may_v not_o so_o much_o labour_n for_o outward_a pomp_n preferment_n honour_n dignity_n etc_o as_o for_o the_o true_a felicity_n of_o our_o english_a jerusalem_n and_o zion_n that_o god_n may_v build_v up_o the_o wall_n thereof_o and_o still_o love_n and_o delight_v therein_o powel_n g._n powel_n as_o nehemiah_n have_v by_o prayer_n and_o fast_v find_v favour_n with_o a_o heathen_a king_n for_o the_o build_n of_o jerusalem_n be_v resist_v and_o hinder_v by_o sanballat_n tobiah_n geshem_n etc_n so_o worthy_a nehemiah_n in_o the_o begin_n of_o our_o religious_a sovereign_n reign_n find_v grace_n for_o the_o continuance_n of_o the_o papist_n deryde_v and_o despise_a we_o labour_v to_o hinder_v our_o ministry_n etc_n the_o odds_n that_o before_o he_o speak_v of_o reply_n reply_n now_o he_o make_v like_a be_v this_o to_o dispute_v ad_fw-la idem_fw-la and_o to_o the_o purpose_n touch_v his_o worthy_a nehemiah_n who_o he_o compare_v to_o ancient_a good_a nehemiah_n let_v this_o be_v observe_v that_o although_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o prayer_n and_o fast_v of_o the_o ancient_a nehemiah_n yet_o he_o speak_v not_o of_o any_o prayer_n and_o fast_v of_o his_o new_a nehemiah_n what_o may_v be_v suspect_v or_o note_v herein_o i_o leave_v to_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o wise_a and_o judicious_a reader_n that_o remember_v what_o opposition_n many_o of_o the_o prelate_n have_v always_o make_v to_o true_a fast_n and_o that_o also_o know_v what_o be_v the_o thing_n which_o man_n may_v safe_o commend_v in_o prayer_n unto_o god_n especial_o for_o which_o they_o may_v humble_v themselves_o extraordinary_a in_o fast_v before_o god_n touch_v the_o tobiah'ss_n sanballat_n and_o geshem_n who_o fain_o he_o will_v have_v to_o be_v those_o that_o he_o call_v refractory_a minister_n as_o well_o as_o the_o papist_n let_v he_o not_o deceive_v himself_o herein_o for_o the_o wise_a &_o christian_a reader_n be_v able_a to_o discern_v they_o to_o be_v most_o worthy_a of_o these_o nane_n that_o strive_v most_o for_o man_n precept_n that_o study_v more_o to_o please_v man_n then_o god_n that_o preach_v not_o themselves_o and_o hinder_v they_o that_o will_v who_o chief_a work_n be_v not_o to_o increase_v god_n his_o kingdom_n but_o to_o uphold_v their_o own_o fear_v nothing_o more_o than_o the_o downfall_n thereof_o which_o also_o feed_v not_o the_o lord_n people_n with_o the_o bread_n of_o eternal_a life_n but_o their_o own_o body_n with_o the_o meat_n that_o perish_v and_o with_o all_o carnal_a delight_n who_o care_v not_o to_o enrich_v the_o lord_n people_n with_o durable_a riches_n that_o shall_v not_o be_v take_v away_o but_o plod_v day_n and_o night_n to_o enrich_v themselves_o in_o this_o world_n and_o to_o build_v great_a house_n for_o their_o posterity_n such_o be_v indeed_o the_o sanballat_n tobiah'ss_n and_o geshem_n that_o do_v most_o oppugn_v the_o spiritual_a build_n of_o the_o spiritual_a jerusalem_n now_o although_o this_o answerer_n &_o other_o not_o much_o unlike_o those_o before_o describe_v for_o a_o time_n reproach_n and_o scorn_v we_o by_o such_o odious_a name_n and_o comparison_n yea_o plough_n upon_o our_o back_n and_o make_v long_a furrow_n yet_o the_o righteous_a lord_n in_o the_o end_n shall_v plead_v our_o cause_n against_o they_o and_o bring_v forth_o our_o righteousness_n even_o as_o the_o morning_n sun_n it_o may_v be_v in_o this_o world_n that_o even_o
