fifteen_o or_o twenty_o sect_n and_o sundry_a religion_n beside_o the_o jew_n persian_n and_o mahumatist_n all_o subject_n to_o his_o empire_n the_o which_o be_v more_o contrary_a the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o for_o matter_n of_o religion_n than_o water_n be_v contrary_a unto_o fire_n without_o doubt_n if_o these_o diversity_n be_v the_o true_a cause_n of_o sedition_n and_o tumult_n it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o the_o turk_n power_n shall_v grow_v so_o great_a it_o be_v then_o a_o great_a ignorance_n to_o think_v that_o subject_n can_v be_v maintain_v in_o quiet_a when_o they_o be_v of_o divers_a religion_n for_o who_o so_o will_v look_v near_o to_o the_o spring_n and_o beginning_n of_o tumult_n and_o sedition_n he_o shall_v find_v that_o they_o proceed_v not_o so_o much_o from_o the_o diversity_n of_o religion_n as_o through_o private_a passion_n as_o through_o covetousness_n ambition_n revenge_n hatred_n and_o such_o like_a from_o the_o which_o small_a quarrel_n may_v grow_v and_o when_o the_o magistrate_n prevent_v it_o not_o in_o time_n then_o by_o little_a and_o little_o they_o inflame_v and_o be_v cause_n of_o tumult_n and_o public_a sedition_n witness_v the_o trouble_n and_o sedition_n in_o italy_n betwixt_o the_o guelph_n and_o gibelline_n the_o which_o continue_v four_o hundred_o year_n and_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o infinite_a murder_n rape_n war_n and_o subject_n instead_o of_o suppress_v they_o by_o justice_n and_o as_o for_o controversy_n touch_v religion_n it_o be_v not_o two_o hundred_o year_n since_o that_o the_o controversy_n betwixt_o the_o franciscan_n and_o the_o jacobines_n for_o the_o conception_n of_o the_o virgin_n mary_n have_v cause_v great_a trouble_n throughout_o all_o christendom_n not_o that_o the_o controversy_n be_v of_o any_o great_a importance_n but_o through_o the_o negligence_n of_o the_o magistrate_n who_o nourish_v these_o faction_n and_o become_v partisan_n see_v then_o it_o appear_v that_o whereas_o good_a order_n have_v be_v settle_v people_n of_o divers_a sect_n and_o religion_n have_v be_v quiet_o govern_v without_o any_o sedition_n or_o tumult_n and_o contrariwise_o whereas_o no_o order_n be_v not_o only_a diversity_n of_o religion_n but_o even_o small_a quarrel_n have_v breed_v horrible_a sedition_n and_o tumult_n any_o man_n of_o judgement_n may_v gather_v thereby_o that_o sedition_n and_o tumult_n take_v not_o their_o increase_n from_o the_o importance_n of_o the_o quarrel_n whereupon_o they_o be_v ground_v but_o rather_o through_o the_o want_n of_o good_a order_n for_o that_o the_o magistrate_n neglect_v to_o punish_v they_o that_o entertain_v they_o or_o else_o themselves_o maintain_v one_o party_n the_o which_o be_v confirm_v by_o many_o ancient_a and_o modern_a example_n authority_n over_o they_o of_o the_o religion_n i_o think_v no_o man_n be_v so_o ignorant_a but_o know_v that_o the_o murder_n commit_v at_o vassey_n by_o the_o duke_n of_o guise_n against_o the_o resolve_v that_o good_a order_n will_v be_v settle_v if_o liberty_n shall_v be_v grant_v to_o they_o of_o the_o religion_n to_o assemble_v and_o exercise_v their_o discipline_n restrain_v and_o bridle_v they_o with_o such_o law_n as_o shall_v be_v think_v good_a and_o that_o the_o king_n magistrate_n and_o officer_n be_v careful_a to_o execute_v his_o majesty_n intention_n foresee_v above_o
