not_o urge_v and_o the_o punishment_n prescribe_v in_o the_o law_n be_v moderate_v or_o lessen_v or_o defer_v or_o it_o may_v be_v remit_v upon_o good_a and_o sufficient_a reason_n and_o in_o such_o than_o it_o be_v worth_a to_o cross_v and_o hurt_v their_o neighbour_n or_o to_o get_v all_o into_o their_o own_o hand_n here_o therefore_o though_o the_o law_n do_v yield_v thou_o all_o that_o which_o a_o man_n do_v willing_o offer_v yet_o must_v thy_o own_o conscience_n be_v a_o law_n unto_o thou_o to_o make_v thou_o a_o moderator_n of_o that_o extremity_n let_v these_o three_o example_n serve_v for_o many_o now_o in_o these_o and_o all_o other_o public_a deal_n betwixt_o man_n in_o the_o world_n a_o man_n observe_v public_a equity_n when_o he_o deal_v not_o with_o his_o neighbour_n law_n itself_o in_o some_o case_n do_v admit_v by_o the_o knowledge_n of_o these_o two_o a_o man_n that_o have_v any_o conscience_n may_v see_v how_o to_o carry_v himself_o in_o all_o these_o civil_a affair_n in_o a_o even_o upright_o and_o equal_a course_n and_o warrantable_a not_o only_o by_o the_o law_n of_o the_o land_n but_o even_o by_o the_o law_n and_o word_n of_o god_n and_o i_o make_v this_o distinction_n of_o the_o law_n of_o the_o land_n and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n because_o we_o be_v to_o know_v this_o for_o a_o rule_n that_o every_o extremity_n which_o a_o law_n in_o the_o strict_a acception_n do_v afford_v be_v not_o warrantable_a to_o be_v urge_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v good_a convenient_a and_o requisite_a that_o the_o practice_n and_o control_v by_o the_o scripture_n and_o by_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n as_o we_o hear_v afore_o but_o if_o any_o man_n object_n that_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o to_o bind_v we_o because_o he_o be_v the_o mediator_n and_o therefore_o be_v to_o perform_v extraordinary_a obedience_n i_o then_o answer_v that_o not_o only_a christ_n but_o other_o holy_a man_n have_v practise_v this_o duty_n for_o he_o pay_v toll_v not_o only_o for_o himself_o but_o for_o peter_n also_o and_o there_o be_v a_o notable_a example_n of_o this_o duty_n in_o abraham_n who_o when_o his_o brother_n lot_n and_o his_o shepherd_n can_v not_o agree_v be_v content_a to_o depart_v from_o his_o right_n for_o whereas_o he_o be_v the_o elder_n may_v have_v choose_v first_o he_o some_o by_o natural_a reason_n and_o policy_n to_o practice_v this_o duty_n it_o be_v not_o possible_a for_o the_o society_n of_o man_n long_o to_o continue_v upon_o the_o earth_n so_o much_o for_o his_o deadly_a enemy_n who_o seek_v his_o life_n and_o can_v have_v no_o help_n he_o be_v in_o that_o case_n to_o help_v himself_o when_o he_o must_v either_o kill_v or_o be_v kill_v than_o reason_n and_o religion_n bid_v he_o defend_v himself_o &_o be_v in_o that_o case_n that_o a_o man_n can_v have_v the_o magistrate_n help_v that_o bear_v the_o sword_n for_o his_o defence_n god_n put_v for_o that_o time_n the_o sword_n into_o a_o man_n own_o hand_n and_o make_v he_o a_o magistrate_n for_o that_o time_n and_o occasion_n for_o in_o case_n of_o such_o extremity_n god_n allow_v every_o man_n
