believer_n stand_v in_o that_o relation_n we_o speak_v of_o the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o as_o the_o cause_n to_o the_o effect_n the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n and_o the_o righteousness_n of_o a_o believer_n or_o person_n justify_v as_o the_o effect_n merit_v and_o effect_v by_o that_o cause_n and_o for_o the_o minor_a that_o be_v every_o whit_n as_o evident_a and_o undeniable_a as_o it_o viz._n that_o the_o thing_n merit_v can_v be_v the_o same_o with_o that_o which_o be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n of_o it_o for_o so_o the_o same_o thing_n shall_v be_v the_o meritorious_a cause_n of_o itself_o a_o conclusion_n so_o broad_a that_o there_o be_v no_o apprehension_n so_o weak_a but_o have_v strength_n enough_o to_o disclaim_v neither_o of_o the_o major_a proposition_n the_o former_a argument_n will_v maintain_v against_o any_o contradiction_n beside_o it_o be_v pregnant_a with_o a_o innate_a evidence_n of_o truth_n the_o reason_n the_o effect_n itself_o but_o by_o the_o interposall_n and_o mediation_n of_o another_o the_o next_o and_o immediate_a cause_n be_v that_o which_o produce_v the_o effect_n without_o the_o interveen_n of_o any_o other_o cause_n between_o thus_o a_o man_n eat_v and_o drink_v be_v the_o remote_a cause_n of_o his_o health_n and_o strength_n by_o mean_n of_o a_o good_a digestion_n distribution_n and_o incorporation_n of_o what_o be_v so_o digest_v into_o the_o several_a part_n of_o the_o body_n come_v between_o which_o latter_a be_v the_o near_o and_o more_o immediate_a cause_n thereof_o so_o the_o cor._n 9_o 25._o in_o he_o that_o strive_v for_o mastery_n be_v the_o remote_a cause_n of_o all_o those_o victory_n and_o prize_n which_o he_o obteyn_v and_o carry_v away_o by_o run_v wrestle_a etc._n etc._n and_o general_o whatsoever_o prepare_v or_o qualify_v the_o natural_a efficient_a for_o the_o produce_v or_o accomplish_v of_o any_o effect_n may_v proper_o be_v call_v a_o remote_a cause_n of_o the_o same_o and_o in_o this_o respect_n the_o personal_a holiness_n and_o the_o active_a obedience_n of_o christ_n to_o the_o law_n may_v be_v call_v the_o efficient_a cause_n of_o justification_n but_o cause_n remote_a not_o immediate_a because_o they_o qualify_v he_o for_o such_o suffering_n whereby_o this_o great_a effect_n of_o justification_n be_v procure_v but_o have_v
