beside_o drunkenness_n make_v man_n sick_a and_o be_v apt_a to_o shorten_v their_o life_n all_o which_o make_v it_o a_o vice_n and_o so_o a_o sin_n but_o do_v drunkenness_n cause_v no_o evil_a effect_n it_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v forbid_v nor_o can_v it_o be_v account_v a_o crime_n the_o like_a i_o may_v say_v for_o gluttony_n for_o will_v man_n eat_v only_o to_o please_v they_o and_o not_o so_o much_o as_o to_o disease_n they_o it_o will_v be_v no_o fault_n to_o eat_v well_o or_o to_o please_v their_o palate_n but_o it_o be_v the_o surfeit_n sickness_n and_o oftentimes_o untimely_a death_n that_o make_v gluttony_n a_o vice_n and_o for_o adultery_n it_o will_v be_v so_o far_o from_o a_o crime_n as_o it_o will_v be_v a_o virtue_n in_o the_o increase_n of_o mankind_n be_v it_o not_o for_o the_o loss_n of_o propriety_n in_o that_o no_o man_n will_v know_v his_o own_o child_n nor_o be_v sure_a to_o enjoy_v his_o own_o wife_n or_o that_o woman_n he_o make_v choice_n of_o as_o for_o theft_n and_o murder_n they_o be_v not_o of_o that_o sort_v to_o be_v name_v vice_n only_o but_o damnable_a sin_n wherein_o can_v neither_o be_v society_n safety_n nor_o security_n of_o life_n for_o thief_n and_o murderer_n endeavour_v a_o utter_a destruction_n without_o mercy_n or_o remorse_n wherefore_o since_o vice_n and_o sin_n be_v vice_n and_o sin_n for_o their_o hurt_a they_o have_v make_v ear_n to_o hear_v so_o they_o have_v make_v harmony_n to_o be_v hear_v and_o as_o they_o have_v make_v nostril_n to_o smell_v so_o they_o have_v make_v perfume_v to_o be_v smell_v and_o as_o they_o have_v make_v taste_n so_o they_o have_v make_v relish_v and_o as_o they_o have_v make_v hunger_n so_o they_o have_v make_v food_n and_o as_o they_o have_v make_v appetite_n so_o they_o have_v give_v satisfaction_n or_o satiety_n thus_o we_o may_v perceive_v that_o every_o particular_a sense_n be_v fit_v or_o match_v to_o particular_a pleasure_n but_o because_o nature_n have_v make_v some_o aversion_n therefore_o moralist_n and_o divine_n will_v not_o have_v man_n enjoy_v the_o pleasure_n in_o nature_n whereas_o the_o most_o rational_a man_n perceive_v that_o aversion_n be_v only_o make_v to_o heighten_v and_o redouble_a the_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n both_o of_o body_n and_o mind_n but_o these_o man_n be_v so_o rigid_a in_o their_o doctrine_n i_o will_v not_o say_v in_o their_o own_o particular_a practice_n as_o they_o will_v have_v man_n choose_v the_o worst_a part_n and_o refuse_v the_o better_a and_o will_v have_v all_o mankind_n struggle_v strive_v and_o oppose_v all_o nature_n delight_n and_o benefit_n the_o truth_n be_v they_o seem_v to_o desire_v a_o perpetual_a war_n between_o the_o sense_n and_o the_o object_n as_o also_o between_o the_o mind_n and_o the_o body_n as_o between_o the_o reason_n and_o sense_n but_o in_o my_o opinion_n their_o doctrine_n have_v neither_o sense_n nor_o reason_n and_o their_o author_n will_v have_v as_o little_o if_o they_o shall_v practise_v what_o they_o preach_v wherefore_o noble_a citizen_n my_o advise_v be_v that_o you_o take_v your_o pleasure_n yet_o so_o as_o you_o may_v enjoy_v they_o long_o as_o to_o warm_a yourselves_o not_o to_o burn_v yourselves_o to_o view_v the_o light_n but_o not_o to_o gaze_v out_o your_o sight_n to_o bath_n yourselves_o but_o not_o to_o drown_v yourselves_o to_o please_v yourselves_o but_o not_o to_o destroy_v yourselves_o with_o excess_n a_o oration_n against_o usurer_n and_o money-horders_a noble_a citizen_n we_o have_v some_o citizen_n among_o we_o that_o be_v rich_a and_o yet_o miserable_a they_o covet_v much_o yet_o enjoy_v but_o little_a for_o they_o hord_n up_o their_o wealth_n and_o starve_v themselves_o and_o if_o they_o do_v starve_v none_o but_o themselves_o it_o be_v no_o great_a matter_n be_v fit_a for_o death_n than_o life_n but_o their_o horde_n impoverish_v the_o commonwealth_n and_o so_o starve_v the_o poor_a for_o there_o can_v be_v a_o great_a evil_n in_o a_o commonwealth_n set_v aside_n warr_n than_o to_o have_v many_o rich_a usurer_n as_o covetous_a getter_n and_o spare_v spender_n for_o their_o great_a wealth_n be_v like_a as_o a_o great_a dunghill_n which_o whilst_o it_o lie_v on_o a_o heap_n together_o do_v no_o good_a but_o hurt_v whereas_o if_o it_o be_v disperse_v and_o spread_v upon_o the_o barren_a land_n it_o will_v enrich_v much_o ground_n produce_v increase_n and_o plenty_n the_o like_a shall_v money_n or_o such_o sort_n of_o riches_n be_v spread_v equal_o to_o make_v a_o commonwealth_n live_v happy_o indeed_o a_o prodigal_n be_v more_o beneficial_a and_o profitable_a to_o a_o commonwealth_n than_o a_o usurer_n for_o a_o
