that_o every_o parson_n vicar_n or_o other_o minister_n whatsoever_o who_o now_o have_v and_o enjoy_v any_o ecclesiastical_a benefice_n or_o promotion_n within_o this_o realm_n of_o england_n or_o benefice_n or_o promotion_n upon_o some_o lord_n day_n open_o public_o and_o solemn_o read_v the_o morning_n and_o evening_n prayer_n appoint_v to_o be_v read_v by_o and_o according_a to_o the_o say_a book_n of_o common_a prayer_n at_o the_o time_n thereby_o appoint_v and_o after_o such_o read_n thereof_o shall_v open_o and_o public_o before_o the_o congregation_n there_o assemble_v declare_v his_o unfeigned_a assent_n and_o consent_n to_o the_o use_n of_o all_o thing_n therein_o contain_v and_o prescribe_v according_a to_o the_o form_n before_o appoint_a and_o that_o all_o and_o every_o such_o person_n who_o shall_v without_o some_o lawful_a impediment_n to_o be_v allow_v and_o approve_v by_o the_o ordinary_a of_o the_o place_n neglect_v or_o refuse_v to_o do_v the_o same_o within_o the_o of_o any_o parsonage_n or_o vicarage_n or_o benefice_n with_o cure_n do_v reside_v on_o his_o live_n and_o keep_v a_o curate_n the_o incumbent_a himself_o in_o person_n not_o have_v some_o lawful_a impediment_n to_o be_v allow_v by_o the_o ordinary_a of_o the_o place_n shall_v once_o at_o the_o least_o in_o every_o month_n open_o and_o public_o read_v the_o common_a prayer_n and_o service_n in_o and_o by_o the_o say_a book_n prescribe_v and_o if_o there_o be_v occasion_n administer_v each_o of_o the_o sacrament_n and_o other_o rite_n of_o the_o church_n in_o the_o parish-church_n or_o chapel_n of_o or_o belong_v to_o the_o same_o parsonage_n vicarage_n or_o benefice_n in_o such_o order_n manner_n and_o form_n as_o in_o and_o by_o the_o say_a book_n be_v appoint_v upon_o pain_n to_o forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o five_o pound_n to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o poor_a of_o the_o parish_n for_o every_o offence_n upon_o conviction_n by_o confession_n or_o proof_n of_o two_o credible_a witness_n upon_o oath_n before_o two_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o the_o county_n city_n or_o town-corporate_a where_o the_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v which_o oath_n the_o say_a justice_n be_v hereby_o impower_v to_o administer_v and_o in_o default_n of_o payment_n within_o ten_o day_n to_o be_v levy_v by_o distress_n and_o sale_n of_o the_o good_n and_o chattel_n of_o the_o offender_n fellow_n chaplain_n and_o tutor_n of_o or_o in_o any_o college_n hall_n house_n of_o learning_n or_o hospital_n and_o every_o public_a professor_n and_o reader_n in_o either_o of_o the_o university_n and_o in_o every_o college_n elsewhere_o and_o every_o parson_n vicar_n curate_n lecturer_n and_o every_o other_o person_n in_o holy_a order_n and_o every_o schoolmaster_n keep_v any_o public_a or_o private_a school_n and_o every_o person_n instruct_v or_o teach_v any_o youth_n in_o any_o house_n or_o private_a family_n as_o a_o tutor_n or_o schoolmaster_n who_o upon_o the_o first_o day_n of_o may_n which_o shall_v be_v in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n god_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o two_o or_o at_o any_o time_n thereafter_o shall_v be_v incumbent_n or_o have_v possession_n of_o any_o deanery_n canonry_n prebend_n mastership_n headship_n fellowship_n professor_n place_n or_o reader_n place_n parsonage_n vicarage_n or_o any_o other_o ecclesiastical_a dignity_n or_o promotion_n or_o of_o any_o curate_n place_n lecture_n or_o school_n or_o shall_v instruct_v or_o teach_v any_o youth_n as_o tutor_n or_o schoolmaster_n shall_v before_o the_o feast-day_n of_o saint_n bartholomew_n which_o shall_v be_v in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o two_o or_o at_o or_o before_o he_o or_o their_o respective_a person_n so_o fail_v be_v natural_o dead_a and_o if_o any_o schoolmaster_n or_o other_o person_n instruct_v or_o teach_v youth_n in_o any_o private_a house_n or_o family_n as_o a_o tutor_n or_o schoolmaster_n shall_v instruct_v or_o teach_v any_o youth_n as_o a_o tutor_n or_o schoolmaster_n before_o license_v obtain_v from_o his_o respective_a archbishop_n bishop_n or_o ordinary_a of_o the_o after_o the_o twenty_o five_o day_n of_o march_n which_o shall_v be_v in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n god_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o eighty_o two_o there_o shall_v be_v omit_v in_o the_o the_o form_n of_o episcopal_a ordination_n shall_v have_v hold_v or_o enjoy_v the_o say_a parsonage_n vicarage_n benefice_n with_o cure_n or_o other_o ecclesiastical_a promotion_n within_o this_o manner_n in_o and_o by_o the_o say_a book_n prescribe_v unless_o he_o have_v former_o be_v make_v priest_n by_o episcopal_a ordination_n upon_o pain_n to_o forfeit_v for_o every_o offence_n the_o sum_n of_o one_o hundred_o pound_n one_o moiety_n thereof_o to_o the_o king_n majesty_n the_o other_o moiety_n thereof_o to_o be_v equal_o divide_v between_o the_o poor_a of_o the_o parish_n where_o the_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v and_o such_o person_n or_o person_n as_o shall_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o by_o action_n of_o debt_n bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n in_o any_o of_o his_o majesty_n court_n of_o record_n wherein_o no_o essoign_n protection_n or_o wager_n of_o law_n shall_v be_v allow_v and_o to_o be_v disable_v from_o take_v or_o be_v admit_v into_o the_o order_n of_o meaning_n of_o this_o act._n provide_v always_o that_o if_o the_o say_a sermon_n or_o lecture_n be_v to_o be_v preach_v or_o read_v in_o any_o cathedral_n or_o collegiate_n church_n or_o chappel_n it_o shall_v be_v sufficient_a for_o the_o say_a lecturer_n open_o at_o the_o time_n aforesaid_a to_o declare_v his_o assent_n and_o consent_n to_o all_o thing_n contain_v in_o the_o say_a book_n lecture_n or_o sermon_n shall_v during_o the_o time_n that_o he_o shall_v continue_v and_o remain_v so_o disable_v preach_v any_o sermon_n or_o lecture_n that_o then_o for_o every_o such_o offence_n the_o person_n and_o person_n so_o offend_v shall_v suffer_v three_o month_n imprisonment_n in_o the_o common_a goal_n without_o bail_n or_o mainprize_n and_o that_o any_o two_o justice_n of_o the_o read_n thereof_o provide_v nevertheless_o that_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o extend_v to_o the_o university-churche_n in_o the_o university_n of_o this_o realm_n or_o either_o of_o they_o when_o or_o at_o such_o time_n as_o any_o sermon_n or_o lecture_n be_v preach_v or_o read_v in_o the_o same_o church_n or_o any_o of_o they_o for_z or_o as_o the_o public_a university-sermon_n or_o lecture_n but_o that_o the_o same_o sermon_n and_o lecture_n may_v be_v preach_v or_o read_v in_o such_o sort_n and_o manner_n as_o the_o same_o have_v be_v heretofore_o preach_v or_o read_v this_o act_n or_o any_o thing_n herein_o contain_v to_o the_o contrary_a thereof_o in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o several_a good_a
