state_n which_o certain_o in_o a_o well_o order_v commonwealth_n be_v the_o public_a reason_n must_v be_v the_o public_a conscience_n nay_o where_o will_v be_v the_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n in_o respect_n of_o any_o party_n which_o shall_v so_o proceed_v as_o to_o show_v that_o without_o take_v their_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n from_o other_o they_o can_v have_v it_o themselves_o if_o the_o public_a refuse_v liberty_n of_o conscience_n to_o a_o party_n will_v be_v the_o cause_n of_o tumult_n how_o much_o more_o a_o party_n refuse_v it_o to_o the_o public_a and_o how_o in_o case_n of_o such_o a_o tumult_n shall_v a_o party_n defend_v their_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n or_o indeed_o their_o throat_n from_o the_o whole_a or_o a_o far_o great_a party_n without_o keep_v down_o or_o tyrannize_v over_o the_o whole_a or_o a_o far_o great_a party_n by_o force_n of_o arm_n these_o thing_n be_v right_o consider_v it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o man_n live_v like_o man_n have_v not_o be_v yet_o find_v without_o a_o government_n or_o that_o any_o government_n have_v not_o be_v yet_o find_v without_o a_o national_a religion_n that_o be_v some_o orderly_a and_o know_a way_n of_o public_a chap._n 2_o lead_v in_o divine_a thing_n or_o in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n a_o national_a religion_n be_v thus_o prove_v necessary_a it_o remain_v that_o i_o prove_v what_o be_v necessary_a to_o the_o same_o that_o be_v as_o it_o concern_v the_o state_n or_o in_o relation_n to_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o magistrate_n certain_a it_o be_v that_o religion_n have_v not_o see_v corruption_n but_o by_o one_o of_o these_o three_o cause_n some_o interest_n therewith_o incorporate_v some_o ignorance_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o it_o or_o by_o some_o complication_n of_o both_o nor_o be_v ever_o religion_n leave_v whole_o to_o the_o management_n of_o a_o clergy_n that_o escape_v these_o cause_n or_o their_o most_o pernicious_a effect_n as_o may_v be_v perceive_v in_o rome_n which_o have_v bring_v ignorance_n to_o be_v the_o mother_n of_o devotion_n and_o indeed_o interest_n to_o be_v the_o father_n of_o religion_n now_o the_o clergy_n not_o fail_v in_o this_o case_n to_o be_v dangerous_a what_o recourse_n but_o to_o the_o magistrate_n for_o safety_n special_o see_v these_o cause_n that_o be_v interest_n and_o ignorance_n the_o one_o procede_v from_o evil_a law_n the_o other_o from_o the_o want_n of_o good_a education_n be_v not_o in_o the_o right_n or_o power_n of_o a_o clergy_n but_o only_o of_o the_o civil_a magistracy_n or_o if_o so_o it_o be_v that_o magistrate_n be_v oblige_v in_o duty_n to_o be_v nurse_v father_n and_o nurse_n mother_n to_o the_o church_n 23._o isa_n 49._o 23._o how_o shall_v a_o state_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n be_v excusable_a that_o take_v no_o heed_n or_o care_n lest_o religion_n suffer_v by_o cause_n the_o prevention_n or_o remedy_n whereof_o be_v in_o they_o only_o to_o these_o therefore_o it_o
