thing_n whatever_o thou_o can_v there_o be_v a_o emptiness_n leave_v still_o in_o some_o corner_n of_o the_o soul_n it_o be_v not_o fill_v a_o man_n may_v say_v when_o he_o be_v high_a in_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o world_n i_o be_o not_o full_o satisfy_v there_o be_v some_o disquiet_n in_o my_o spirit_n there_o be_v somewhat_o whatsoever_o it_o be_v behind_o the_o back_n of_o that_o comfort_n that_o i_o look_v for_o but_o when_o a_o man_n have_v thought_n and_o apprehension_n of_o god_n aright_o they_o satisfy_v the_o soul_n and_o fill_v it_o with_o such_o contentedness_n that_o drink_n but_o be_v upon_o a_o mountain_n only_o he_o see_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o say_v he_o it_o be_v good_a to_o be_v here_o therefore_o we_o may_v see_v in_o divers_a place_n that_o i_o can_v reckon_v in_o scripture_n as_o in_o psal_n 17._o as_o for_o i_o i_o will_v behold_v thy_o face_n in_o righteousness_n i_o will_v behold_v thou_o in_o christ_n and_o when_o i_o awake_v i_o and_o there_o be_v some_o pleasure_n as_o when_o his_o gift_n be_v enlarge_v or_o when_o spiritual_a thing_n especial_o when_o new_a notion_n come_v in_o his_o mind_n for_o ever_o the_o knowledge_n of_o new_a thing_n be_v pleasant_a both_o natural_a and_o spiritual_a yet_o notwithstanding_o a_o hypocrite_n be_v not_o satisfy_v with_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n he_o can_v say_v i_o make_v not_o such_o a_o blaze_n with_o gift_n and_o expression_n yet_o he_o see_v god_n now_o and_o then_o and_o he_o can_v tread_v and_o trample_v upon_o the_o world_n he_o can_v despise_v pleasure_n and_o friend_n and_o honour_n and_o riches_n and_o can_v look_v on_o they_o as_o crucify_a thing_n as_o paul_n do_v and_o can_v say_v i_o remember_v in_o such_o a_o country_n in_o such_o a_o chamber_n in_o such_o a_o place_n where_o god_n show_v himself_o to_o i_o and_o i_o be_v satisfy_v i_o see_v every_o thing_n vanish_v before_o i_o and_o i_o desire_v nothing_o but_o that_o and_o i_o can_v desire_v to_o change_v my_o wealth_n and_o all_o for_o that_o so_o that_o may_v be_v continue_v and_o enlarge_v that_o be_v one_o thing_n second_o they_o be_v precious_a because_o he_o be_v not_o knowledge_n they_o have_v no_o like_n to_o keep_v that_o little_a knowledge_n of_o god_n they_o wish_v as_o calvin_n say_v every_o wicked_a man_n in_o the_o world_n wish_v that_o he_o be_v whole_o and_o probable_o for_o the_o most_o part_n that_o his_o sin_n be_v do_v away_o and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o condemnation_n to_o he_o because_o he_o be_v in_o christ_n and_o believe_v in_o he_o therefore_o as_o it_o be_v rom._n 5._o 7._o he_o that_o be_v dead_a be_v free_v from_o sin_n or_o justify_v from_o sin_n that_o be_v one_o thing_n second_o in_o all_o these_o phrase_n this_o be_v but_o when_o we_o come_v to_o fifty_o or_o sixty_o than_o we_o can_v see_v nothing_o but_o through_o spectacle_n it_o shall_v be_v just_a contrary_n with_o we_o when_o we_o be_v christian_n when_o we_o be_v young_a we_o usual_o never_o read_v the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o through_o the_o spectacle_n of_o man_n gloss_n but_o when_o we_o be_v old_a christian_n and_o strong_a saint_n we_o shall_v learn_v to_o read_v better_o without_o spectacle_n we_o shall_v daily_o make_v less_o use_n of_o man_n book_n and_o more_o of_o god_n book_n that_o whereas_o before_o a_o man_n turn_v over_o twenty_o author_n upon_o a_o point_n now_o he_o can_v go_v humble_o to_o god_n with_o his_o bible_n and_o without_o spectacle_n he_o can_v see_v what_o the_o will_n of_o god_n be_v therefore_o lay_v aside_o spectacle_n sometime_o and_o only_o take_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o compare_v scripture_n with_o scripture_n that_o you_o may_v come_v to_o know_v the_o mind_n of_o christ_n shall_v i_o name_v one_o thing_n more_o if_o you_o will_v again_o 5._o to_o be_v bear_v again_o come_v to_o be_v spiritual_a gospel-saint_n you_o must_v be_v bear_v again_o you_o must_v be_v bear_v from_o above_o a_o of_o her_o child_n if_o a_o ploughman_n shall_v come_v to_o oxford_n and_o hear_v their_o dispute_n in_o logic_n or_o mathematics_n he_o understand_v not_o the_o term_n and_o will_v think_v that_o any_o saint_n at_o once_o but_o sometime_o the_o lord_n reveal_v to_o his_o child_n and_o let_v he_o see_v his_o glorious_a power_n in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o no_o carnal_a man_n ever_o shall_v another_o while_n he_o let_v he_o see_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o justice_n and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v ravish_v he_o for_o a_o time_n another_o while_n god_n shed_v his_o love_n into_o his_o heart_n
