be_v not_o but_o they_o also_o be_v not_o in_o the_o world_n it_o be_v more_o glorious_a to_o beat_v a_o enemy_n then_o to_o fly_v away_o from_o he_o and_o it_o require_v a_o great_a spirit_n to_o maintain_v a_o breach_n then_o to_o hold_v out_o within_o the_o wall_n not_o that_o i_o discommend_v solitude_n at_o your_o first_o set_v out_o or_o will_v have_v you_o neglect_v it_o at_o certain_a season_n through_o your_o whole_a journey_n for_o you_o shall_v know_v the_o use_n of_o it_o better_o hereafter_o but_o it_o be_v not_o fit_a to_o design_n to_o live_v always_o in_o secret_a if_o it_o while_o their_o body_n be_v at_o liberty_n who_o bridle_v their_o appetite_n and_o lay_v restraint_n on_o their_o desire_n though_o they_o live_v at_o large_a and_o be_v under_o no_o vow_n but_o that_o of_o their_o baptism_n consider_v therefore_o how_o ridiculous_a it_o be_v to_o imitate_v another_o sort_n of_o man_n who_o hear_v we_o speak_v of_o forsake_v the_o world_n and_o renounce_v all_o its_o pomp_n and_o vanity_n imagine_v that_o they_o shall_v throw_v away_o their_o rich_a garment_n forbear_v the_o civility_n of_o a_o compliment_n or_o so_o much_o as_o a_o salutation_n let_v their_o garden_n become_v wilderness_n and_o their_o picture_n make_v fire_n with_o abundance_n of_o such_o like_a folly_n alas_o what_o have_v these_o poor_a thing_n do_v that_o we_o shall_v clothes_n just_a as_o we_o do_v before_o they_o come_v on_o our_o back_n and_o in_o a_o few_o word_n to_o withdraw_v ourselves_o from_o all_o the_o inveiglement_n of_o the_o world_n not_o in_o the_o common_a way_n of_o remove_v our_o person_n from_o it_o but_o by_o remove_v it_o from_o our_o esteem_n and_o affection_n but_o i_o be_o afraid_a of_o run_v into_o that_o error_n which_o i_o purpose_v his_o mind_n because_o his_o estate_n be_v no_o better_o assure_v his_o disciple_n be_v man_n of_o a_o small_a fortune_n and_o yet_o he_o labour_v to_o infuse_v into_o they_o a_o most_o liberal_a disposition_n he_o stick_v not_o to_o spend_v all_o the_o victual_n he_o have_v upon_o the_o hungry_a multitude_n he_o choose_v to_o lay_v out_o the_o whole_a provision_n of_o his_o numerous_a the_o poor_a though_o he_o be_v support_v by_o the_o charity_n of_o other_o yet_o he_o will_v be_v no_o more_o than_o their_o steward_n and_o receive_v their_o alm_n to_o give_v it_o away_o great_a person_n minister_v to_o he_o but_o he_o himself_o be_v the_o minister_n of_o all_o his_o poverty_n may_v have_v enrich_v himself_o but_o he_o choose_v by_o it_o to_o enrich_v other_o and_o this_o lead_v you_o through_o the_o crowd_n your_o way_n will_v bring_v you_o into_o open_a field_n and_o expose_v you_o oftentimes_o to_o the_o throng_n of_o sensual_a object_n against_o which_o you_o will_v have_v no_o defence_n but_o your_o own_o valorous_a resolution_n you_o will_v not_o be_v able_a to_o refuse_v they_o your_o company_n or_o to_o pass_v along_o without_o their_o acquaintance_n it_o will_v not_o be_v at_o your_o choice_n whether_o you_o will_v see_v and_o hear_v and_o feel_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v amiable_a and_o delightful_a nor_o can_v you_o stop_v your_o ear_n so_o close_o but_o you_o will_v perceive_v they_o invite_v you_o to_o a_o friendship_n with_o they_o your_o skill_n and_o your_o courage_n therefore_o consist_v in_o this_o that_o in_o imitation_n of_o your_o master_n jesus_n you_o live_v and_o converse_v with_o all_o these_o thing_n as_o a_o man_n that_o be_v dead_a you_o must_v keep_v they_o company_n in_o such_o a_o sort_n that_o they_o may_v find_v it_o be_v but_o the_o shadow_n of_o you_o that_o be_v among_o they_o and_o that_o they_o do_v not_o possess_v yourself_o let_v they_o know_v that_o they_o may_v as_o well_o invite_v a_o ghost_n to_o their_o intemperance_n uncleanness_n and_o greediness_n of_o the_o world_n as_o waste_v their_o time_n in_o solicit_v of_o your_o affection_n make_v they_o feel_v that_o be_v but_o half_a of_o you_o and_o the_o worse_a half_n which_o walk_v among_o they_o and_o that_o it_o be_v impossible_a they_o shall_v have_v the_o better_a part_n let_v man_n have_v your_o company_n but_o be_v not_o partaker_n with_o they_o in_o their_o sin_n follow_v your_o affair_n like_o other_o folk_n but_o take_v heed_n and_o beware_v of_o covetousness_n and_o watch_v that_o you_o be_v not_o overtake_v with_o surfeit_v and_o drunkenness_n or_o the_o care_n of_o this_o life_n let_v the_o world_n understand_v that_o you_o can_v see_v it_o every_o day_n and_o not_o fall_v in_o love_n with_o it_o that_o you_o can_v deal_v and_o traffic_v with_o it_o if_o need_v be_v and_o yet_o not_o be_v unrighteous_a that_o you_o can_v behold_v all_o its_o honour_n and_o not_o be_v ambitious_a that_o you_o need_v not_o hide_v your_o eye_n from_o its_o beauty_n and_o yet_o retain_v your_o own_o and_o live_v in_o purity_n of_o heart_n beware_v of_o please_v and_o humour_v any_o of_o your_o sense_n suffer_v they_o not_o to_o feed_v too_o greedy_o upon_o any_o object_n lest_o your_o soul_n be_v enchant_v and_o cast_v into_o a_o forgetfulness_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o remember_v always_o that_o you_o be_v to_o sue_v all_o these_o earthly_a thing_n rather_o of_o necessity_n then_o of_o choice_n and_o to_o afford_v they_o your_o company_n but_o not_o your_o friendship_n and_o this_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o be_v a_o more_o excellent_a and_o useful_a life_n i_o may_v add_v more_o laborious_a too_o than_o any_o other_o though_o the_o austerity_n of_o monk_n and_o hermit_n seem_v so_o grievous_a and_o horrible_o affright_v notwithstanding_o all_o the_o sharpness_n they_o enjoin_v themselves_o they_o reap_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o ease_n who_o be_v sequester_v from_o public_a office_n and_o live_v without_o the_o encumbrance_n of_o many_o affair_n though_o their_o rule_n to_o which_o they_o be_v tie_v appear_v so_o rigorous_a yet_o they_o be_v neither_o so_o many_o in_o number_n nor_o so_o thorny_a in_o their_o nature_n nor_o have_v so_o many_o face_n as_o those_o which_o bound_v a_o man_n of_o exact_a integrity_n in_o civil_a life_n they_o have_v but_o a_o few_o thing_n to_o employ_v they_o and_o he_o be_v engage_v in_o a_o multitude_n and_o they_o have_v the_o same_o thing_n to_o do_v over_o again_o but_o his_o rule_n vary_v with_o a_o thousand_o circumstance_n it_o be_v a_o pleasure_n to_o avoid_v the_o pain_n of_o well_o do_v among_o those_o that_o be_v evil_a it_o be_v a_o repose_n to_o have_v but_o few_o enemy_n and_o those_o such_o as_o have_v be_v beat_v a_o hundred_o time_n these_o people_n may_v have_v some_o other_o glory_n but_o that_o of_o overcome_a difficulty_n methinks_v belong_v not_o to_o they_o moderation_n be_v a_o virtue_n much_o more_o toilsome_a than_o their_o sufferance_n that_o have_v a_o thousand_o several_a fashion_n whereas_o this_o have_v no_o more_o than_o one_o it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o a_o man_n shall_v be_v good_a where_o he_o see_v nothing_o that_o be_v bad_a he_o may_v well_o keep_v his_o innocence_n where_o it_o be_v hard_o to_o lose_v it_o and_o soon_o secure_v his_o soul_n when_o there_o be_v nothing_o offer_v to_o rob_v he_o of_o it_o he_o be_v a_o very_a unfortunate_a man_n as_o i_o have_v hear_v somebody_o well_o express_v it_o who_o drown_v himself_o in_o that_o place_n where_o he_o can_v scarce_o find_v water_n enough_o to_o quench_v his_o thirst_n his_o hap_n
