ordinary_o for_o his_o worldly_a business_n which_o express_o as_o we_o say_v involve_v god_n particular_a determination_n of_o the_o chief_a time_n for_o religion_n necessary_a and_o sufficient_a for_o the_o chief_a time_n and_o so_o a_o division_n of_o every_o time_n or_o the_o main_a part_n of_o it_o distinct_o between_o himself_o and_o worldly_a matter_n consider_v we_o say_v the_o great_a commandment_n to_o love_n god_n with_o all_o our_o heart_n with_o all_o our_o soul_n with_o all_o our_o mind_n with_o all_o our_o strength_n and_o how_o love_n command_v the_o time_n every_o one_o have_v to_o employ_v special_o such_o a_o high_a love_n as_o this_o on_o the_o other_o side_n the_o charge_n of_o not_o love_v the_o world_n nor_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o the_o world_n and_o there_o be_v then_o a_o natural_a homage_n and_o allegiance_n due_a to_o god_n from_o all_o mankind_n by_o the_o very_a law_n of_o their_o creation_n and_o particular_o the_o praise_v and_o magnify_v take_v a_o man_n up_o both_o body_n and_o mind_n as_o without_o sensible_a interruption_n a_o man_n can_v have_v leisure_n to_o tender_v so_o much_o as_o a_o ejaculation_n to_o god_n for_o a_o while_n and_o much_o less_o to_o speak_v of_o he_o but_o other_o employment_n do_v admit_v now_o and_o then_o at_o least_o much_o freedom_n both_o for_o the_o mind_n and_o tongue_n so_o that_o even_o while_o the_o eye_n and_o hand_n be_v busy_v in_o worldly_a work_n as_o plough_v or_o spin_v or_o weave_v and_o the_o like_a one_o may_v without_o any_o interruption_n of_o what_o they_o be_v about_o lift_v up_o the_o soul_n to_o god_n and_o the_o voice_n too_o for_o god_n and_o so_o worship_v he_o immediate_o while_o withal_o they_o worship_v he_o mediate_o also_o in_o a_o worldly_a call_n man_n vi_o prove_v to_o be_v a_o duty_n for_o all_o man_n now_o unto_o this_o kind_n of_o worship_n of_o god_n every_o one_o of_o mankind_n be_v undoubted_o bind_v as_o much_o as_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o they_o to_o perform_v it_o and_o namely_o by_o those_o general_a precept_n which_o bound_v semper_fw-la as_o the_o school_n speak_v that_o be_v on_o all_o opportunity_n though_o not_o ad_fw-la creator_n not_o of_o our_o soul_n only_o but_o also_o of_o our_o body_n and_o lord_n of_o all_o that_o man_n have_v the_o glorify_v of_o he_o both_o with_o the_o soul_n and_o body_n too_o be_v and_o must_v needs_o be_v acknowledge_v the_o principal_a end_n of_o man_n creation_n for_o god_n make_v man_n as_o all_o thing_n else_o principal_o for_o himself_o for_o his_o own_o glory_n and_o so_o it_o and_z by_o itself_o consider_v can_v afford_v to_o spare_v any_o time_n from_o his_o attendance_n and_o special_o which_o way_n it_o can_v be_v possible_a that_o the_o thought_n of_o his_o incomprehensible_a excellency_n and_o glory_n shall_v direct_v we_o to_o share_v time_n between_o his_o immediate_a service_n and_o worldly_a matter_n the_o holy_a angel_n in_o heaven_n keep_v a_o eternal_a sabbath_n without_o intermission_n interruption_n or_o end_n we_o shall_v do_v so_o too_o hereafter_o with_o they_o if_o we_o right_o and_o faithful_o serve_v he_o upon_o earth_n and_o other_o 5._o and_o final_o their_o be_v assault_v daily_o and_o hourly_o with_o temptation_n and_o affliction_n and_o their_o peace_n and_o comfort_n further_o waste_v by_o sin_n and_o corruption_n bosom_n of_o god_n love_n all_o this_o together_o can_v but_o make_v a_o soul_n think_v no_o measure_n of_o time_n less_o than_o all_o necessary_a and_o sufficient_a for_o attendance_n upon_o he_o who_o it_o be_v bind_v to_o love_n with_o its_o whole_a self_n mind_n heart_n strength_n and_o so_o to_o work_v upon_o itself_o that_o it_o may_v love_v he_o and_o be_v sure_a of_o his_o love_n and_o when_o it_o have_v once_o attain_v to_o this_o love_n of_o he_o above_o all_o other_o thing_n and_o to_o a_o assurance_n of_o his_o love_n to_o it_o it_o can_v but_o still_o think_v all_o time_n be_v little_a enough_o and_o too_o little_a to_o serve_v he_o in_o thankfulness_n for_o his_o love_n and_o to_o enjoy_v his_o love_n and_o its_o own_o happiness_n in_o attendance_n upon_o he_o and_o converse_v with_o he_o it_o must_v then_o again_o be_v god_n will_v declare_v that_o man_n shall_v spend_v their_o time_n in_o this_o world_n otherwise_o then_o whole_o upon_o the_o immediate_a care_n to_o proportion_v the_o time_n between_o religion_n and_o other_o matter_n except_o that_o we_o ought_v undoubted_o to_o say_v if_o we_o have_v nothing_o but_o these_o to_o direct_v we_o that_o to_o have_v make_v a_o goodly_a purchsse_n by_o dispute_v the_o abrogation_n of_o the_o four_o commandment_n for_o one_o day_n in_o seven_o in_o as_o much_o as_o in_o stead_n of_o their_o pretend_a christian_a liberty_n not_o to_o be_v tie_v to_o such_o a_o proportion_n all_o other_o rule_v call_v for_o twice_o thrice_o as_o much_o and_o rather_o for_o six_o day_n of_o seven_o and_o leave_v but_o one_o for_o worldly_a business_n and_o if_o they_o shall_v object_v excep_v excep_v that_o man_n bodily_a life_n can_v not_o be_v preserve_v with_o so_o little_a a_o proportion_n for_o worldly_a matter_n and_o though_o as_o the_o constitution_n of_o the_o world_n now_o be_v we_o be_v far_o from_o blame_v such_o trade_n and_o manufacturer_n or_o the_o use_n of_o they_o as_o sin_n because_o special_o we_o believe_v god_n to_o have_v allow_v six_o day_n in_o a_o week_n main_o for_o worldly_a business_n according_a to_o the_o four_o commandment_n yet_o we_o say_v still_o that_o if_o this_o other_o place_n at_o this_o day_n to_o so_o notorious_a prejudice_n and_o undervalue_v of_o god_n and_o his_o honour_n and_o the_o good_a of_o soul_n and_o so_o still_o we_o be_v altogether_o at_o a_o less_o for_o a_o rule_n of_o wisdom_n how_o to_o determine_v our_o necessary_a and_o sufficient_a chief_a solemn_a time_n for_o religion_n and_o therefore_o this_o determination_n can_v not_o be_v nor_o be_v ever_o leave_v to_o man_n to_z adam_z or_o the_o partriarke_n before_o moses_n much_o loss_n to_o the_o gentile_n and_o heathen_a for_o themselves_o and_o they_o nor_o yet_o to_o the_o this_o dispute_n about_o the_o ordinary_a chief_a time_n for_o religion_n they_o be_v 1._o extraordinary_a day_n of_o which_o kind_n the_o jew_n also_o have_v some_o of_o god_n appoint_v and_o some_o of_o their_o own_o more_o than_o many_o christian_a church_n have_v though_o not_o so_o many_o as_o some_o other_o also_o 2._o these_o be_v take_v up_o without_o any_o such_o rule_n as_o may_v either_o urge_v the_o conscience_n to_o judge_v they_o necessary_a or_o conclude_v they_o together_o to_o be_v sufficient_a therefore_o 3._o also_o herein_o the_o christian_a church_n great_o differ_v which_o as_o we_o have_v argue_v before_o must_v not_o be_v in_o the_o proportion_n of_o the_o chief_a solemn_a time_n necessary_a and_o sufficient_a for_o all_o christian_n likewise_o 4._o no_o extraordinary_a time_n for_o religion_n but_o the_o determination_n of_o the_o chief_a time_n for_o religion_n be_v set_v the_o residue_n be_v main_o for_o worldly_a business_n even_o allot_v to_o they_o by_o that_o very_a determination_n of_o such_o time_n as_o sufficient_a ordinary_o for_o the_o chief_a time_n to_o religion_n 2._o therefore_o to_o ascribe_v to_o man_n the_o determination_n of_o this_o chief_a sufficient_a time_n to_o religion_n be_v to_o ascribe_v to_o they_o the_o allotment_n of_o their_o own_o time_n for_o worldly_a business_n as_o contrary_o to_o ascribe_v to_o god_n the_o allotment_n of_o man_n time_n for_o their_o worldly_a business_n be_v to_o ascribe_v to_o he_o the_o determination_n of_o this_o sufficient_a chief_a time_n for_o religion_n 3._o now_o that_o to_o say_v and_o refer_v to_o the_o reader_n to_o judge_v what_o cause_n we_o have_v for_o it_o that_o our_o disputer_n in_o this_o whole_a controversy_n about_o religious_a time_n seem_v absolute_o to_o be_v of_o the_o mind_n that_o however_o all_o time_n be_v original_o god_n and_o he_o may_v still_o challenge_v what_o he_o please_v by_o a_o express_a law_n yet_o in_o practice_n he_o have_v rather_o give_v over_o time_n into_o man_n hand_n and_o make_v all_o time_n we_o rather_o than_o his_o own_o except_o only_o what_o he_o challenge_v from_o the_o jew_n by_o express_a law_n even_o affection_n and_o discretion_n there_o be_v only_a general_n remembrance_n and_o rule_n in_o scripture_n of_o not_o neglect_v god_n and_o their_o soul_n but_o none_o obligatory_a descend_v to_o particular_a proportion_n divide_v between_o worldly_a business_n and_o religion_n now_o this_o kind_n of_o make_v all_o time_n we_o chief_o and_o principal_o for_o worldly_a business_n we_o take_v to_o be_v their_o capital_a and_o fundamental_a error_n in_o the_o whole_a dispute_n about_o the_o sabbath_n and_o lordsday_n and_o can_v sufficient_o wonder_v how_o it_o shall_v settle_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o considerate_a divine_n but_o the_o greatness_n of_o the_o error_n of_o this_o conceit_n we_o hope_v to_o represent_v to_o all_o reader_n and_o even_o to_o our_o disputer_n own_o conscience_n by_o these_o four_o argument_n follow_v indulgence_n lxvii_o 1._o otherwise_o no_o time_n shall_v be_v god_n but_o by_o man_n indulgence_n 1._o be_v not_o this_o to_o reduce_v all_o time_n from_o be_v god_n original_o and_o none_o we_o for_o worldly_a business_n but_o by_o his_o indulgence_n to_o no_o time_n be_v god_n practical_o but_o by_o man_n indulgence_n as_o we_o may_v say_v and_o again_o all_o inferior_n time_n for_o their_o soul_n to_o be_v neither_o at_o god_n appointment_n nor_o their_o own_o dispose_n but_o at_o their_o superior_n how_o profane_a and_o godless_a so_o ever_o and_o by_o their_o indulgence_n which_o although_o we_o grant_v that_o if_o god_n have_v any_o where_o say_v in_o his_o word_n express_o or_o by_o undeniable_a consequence_n i_o
