not_o blot_v i_o i_o pray_v thou_o out_o of_o the_o book_n which_o thou_o have_v write_v and_o the_o other_o rom._n 9.7_o out_o of_o his_o heat_n of_o zeal_n for_o the_o salvation_n of_o the_o same_o seed_n of_o abraham_n utter_v these_o word_n i_o can_v wish_v myself_o accurse_v from_o christ_n for_o my_o brethren_n and_o both_o these_o seem_v to_o prefer_v not_o only_o the_o temporal_a but_o spiritual_a good_a of_o other_o before_o their_o own_o insomuch_o as_o to_o salve_v their_o excess_n of_o charity_n some_o have_v think_v nothing_o less_o sufficient_a than_o to_o say_v there_o be_v many_o thing_n do_v in_o scripture_n by_o person_n act_v by_o a_o extraordinary_a and_o heroic_a spirit_n which_o be_v not_o to_o be_v bring_v into_o practice_n by_o we_o who_o be_v move_v by_o low_a degree_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o though_o we_o may_v admire_v they_o we_o must_v not_o imitate_v they_o other_o again_o on_o the_o other_o side_n have_v as_o much_o depress_v the_o transcendent_a charity_n of_o these_o great_a person_n by_o parallel_v what_o they_o do_v with_o like_a usage_n and_o custom_n common_a among_o the_o jew_n for_o first_o they_o resemble_v moses_n intercession_n for_o the_o people_n to_o a_o friendly_a compliment_n or_o expression_n of_o goodwill_n familiar_o use_v by_o those_o of_o the_o circumcision_n and_o possible_o first_o take_v up_o in_o imitation_n of_o moses_n intercession_n may_v i_o be_v thy_o propitiation_n or_o expiation_n my_o brother_n i._n e._n may_v i_o undergo_v the_o penalty_n of_o the_o law_n in_o thy_o stead_n to_o rescue_v thou_o from_o the_o divine_a displeasure_n bear_v thy_o temporal_a punishment_n and_o after_o the_o like_a manner_n they_o parallel_n s_o t_o pawles_n word_n i_o can_v wish_v myself_o accurse_v from_o christ_n to_o a_o like_a passage_n find_v in_o ignatius_n who_o be_v a_o auditor_n of_o the_o apostle_n let_v the_o punishment_n of_o the_o devil_n come_v upon_o i_o only_o let_v i_o obtain_v christ._n where_o the_o punishment_n of_o the_o devil_n can_v possible_o import_v the_o eternal_a torment_n of_o hell_n for_o from_o thence_o there_o be_v no_o redemption_n or_o return_v to_o enjoy_v christ_n and_o therefore_o it_o must_v point_v at_o excommunication_n to_o the_o give_v up_o to_o satan_n and_o the_o punishment_n he_o have_v power_n to_o inflict_v on_o the_o excommunicate_v so_o frequent_o mention_v in_o scripture_n but_o i_o shall_v need_v to_o give_v only_o one_o instance_n of_o deliver_v such_o a_o one_o unto_o satan_n for_o the_o destruction_n of_o the_o flesh_n that_o the_o spirit_n may_v be_v save_v in_o the_o day_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n 1_o cor._n 5.5_o but_o there_o seem_v here_o to_o be_v no_o need_n of_o these_o extraordinary_a salvo_n these_o however_o ingenious_a and_o learned_a accommodation_n for_o put_v the_o case_n we_o shall_v take_v the_o word_n of_o moses_n in_o the_o strict_a literal_a sense_n they_o can_v bear_v and_o we_o must_v take_v they_o so_o if_o we_o will_v take_v they_o as_o god_n answer_n show_v he_o take_v they_o whosoever_o have_v sin_v against_o i_o say_v he_o he_o will_v i_o blot_v out_o of_o my_o book_n what_o will_v be_v the_o danger_n or_o inconvenience_n what_o do_v his_o intercession_n import_v more_o than_o may_v be_v thus_o fair_o paraphrase_a lord_n let_v i_o prevail_v with_o thou_o to_o revoke_v thy_o sentence_n of_o total_o destroy_v this_o people_n thou_o have_v do_v such_o wonderful_a thing_n for_o or_o involve_v i_o in_o their_o destruction_n which_o be_v easy_o for_o i_o to_o bear_v than_o to_o survive_v so_o great_a a_o calamity_n and_o to_o hear_v the_o heathen_a insult_n and_o blaspheme_v thy_o name_n on_o this_o occasion_n but_o moses_n word_n relate_v to_o a_o eternal_a blot_n out_o not_o necessary_o no_o nor_o probable_o for_o whatever_o knowledge_n he_o may_v have_v of_o another_o life_n the_o less_o it_o be_v to_o be_v suppose_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v willing_a to_o undergo_v a_o eternal_a death_n to_o save_v the_o people_n only_o from_o a_o temporal_a and_o as_o fair_a a_o account_n may_v be_v give_v of_o s_o t_o pawles_n word_n who_o do_v not_o say_v i_o do_v but_o i_o can_v wish_v myself_o accurse_v from_o christ_n for_o my_o brethren_n so_o that_o his_o word_n be_v not_o a_o anathematise_v or_o devote_v himself_o but_o only_o a_o meditation_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v i_o can_v in_o my_o imagination_n be_v content_v upon_o the_o condition_n or_o contemplation_n of_o a_o event_n so_o much_o to_o god_n glory_n
