a_o great_a deal_n of_o trouble_n which_o wicked_a man_n bring_v upon_o themselves_o and_o afford_v much_o support_n and_o ease_v under_o those_o affliction_n which_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n may_v lay_v upon_o we_o insomuch_o that_o no_o man_n of_o what_o rank_n and_o condiâ—ion_n soever_o can_v lead_v a_o true_o comfortable_a life_n except_o he_o lead_v a_o holy_a and_o good_a life_n all_o this_o be_v frequent_o teach_v in_o scripture_n and_o may_v easy_o be_v manifest_v by_o clear_a reason_n or_o if_o that_o be_v not_o sufficient_a it_o be_v also_o most_o plain_o to_o be_v 〈◊〉_d how_o often_o do_v the_o great_a drinker_n not_o only_o waste_v their_o estate_n but_o destroy_v their_o health_n weaken_v their_o brain_n and_o shorten_v their_o life_n how_o often_o do_v they_o fall_v into_o quarrel_n get_v wound_n and_o bruise_n and_o sometime_o death_n itself_o either_o by_o fight_v or_o by_o one_o sad_a accident_n or_o other_o sometime_o the_o very_a child_n in_o
be_v not_o in_o vain_a and_o to_o this_o day_n will_v all_o god_n faithful_a servant_n find_v the_o good_a effect_n of_o thus_o devout_o apply_v themselves_o to_o god_n by_o prayer_n for_o his_o eye_n be_v ever_o upon_o the_o righteous_a and_o his_o ear_n open_a to_o their_o cry_n he_o take_v pity_n on_o they_o comfort_n and_o support_v they_o he_o will_v lay_v no_o more_o upon_o they_o than_o he_o a_o due_a sense_n of_o his_o providence_n so_o as_o to_o live_v upon_o it_o and_o improve_v it_o job_n 22_o 21._o but_o how_o sad_a be_v the_o condition_n of_o a_o wicked_a man_n who_o have_v no_o such_o knowledge_n of_o god_n no_o love_n to_o he_o nor_o any_o expectation_n of_o help_n and_o relief_n from_o he_o even_o in_o his_o great_a prosperity_n he_o be_v a_o very_a miserable_a man_n whilst_o he_o live_v without_o god_n in_o the_o world_n but_o he_o feel_v himself_o to_o be_v so_o indeed_o when_o he_o fall_v into_o any_o great_a calamity_n and_o know_v not_o which_o way_n to_o turn_v himself_o for_o help_n and_o comfort_n for_o as_o wickedness_n still_o bring_v man_n into_o misery_n as_o i_o have_v before_o show_v so_o there_o it_o leave_v they_o in_o the_o most_o wretched_a forlorn_a condition_n and_o the_o ill_a temper_n of_o their_o mind_n add_v weight_n and_o load_n to_o their_o calamity_n and_o grievous_o increase_v the_o smart_n of_o they_o the_o sense_n of_o their_o own_o guilt_n sometime_o torment_v their_o conscience_n and_o fill_v they_o with_o fear_n and_o horror_n sometime_o they_o rage_n and_o fret_v against_o those_o that_o help_v on_o their_o suffering_n and_o sometime_o they_o even_o blaspheme_v god_n himself_o and_o murmur_v against_o his_o providence_n whilst_o the_o good_a man_n with_o job_n bless_v god_n in_o all_o his_o affliction_n these_o be_v ready_a to_o follow_v the_o counsel_n of_o his_o wife_n even_o to_o curse_v god_n and_o die_v for_o be_v full_a of_o anguish_n and_o despair_n they_o be_v at_o their_o wit_n end_n and_o weary_a of_o their_o very_a life_n as_o we_o read_v of_o cain_n and_o judas_n and_o such_o like_a both_o in_o scripture_n and_o other_o history_n for_o my_o part_n i_o do_v very_o think_v that_o next_o to_o the_o devil_n and_o those_o in_o hell_n there_o be_v no_o creature_n in_o the_o world_n more_o miserable_a than_o wicked_a ungodly_a people_n and_o whilst_o we_o see_v what_o the_o common_a fruit_n of_o sin_n be_v here_o on_o earth_n we_o may_v easy_o be_v convince_v that_o it_o lead_v to_o hell_n and_o damnation_n hereafter_o and_o all_o this_o do_v man_n mad_o and_o wilful_o run_v into_o by_o their_o own_o evil_a do_n even_o as_o a_o man_n that_o thrust_v his_o hand_n into_o the_o fire_n be_v like_a to_o feel_v pain_n and_o smart_n by_o forsake_v of_o god_n they_o forsake_v their_o own_o mercy_n and_o by_o sin_v against_o he_o they_o wrong_v their_o own_o soul_n yea_o their_o body_n too_o and_o all_o their_o concern_v thus_o you_o see_v that_o a_o holy_a life_n be_v most_o profitable_a for_o we_o even_o in_o this_o present_a world_n prevent_v much_o evil_n and_o bring_v all_o manner_n of_o good_a along_o with_o it_o or_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v fall_v into_o such_o hard_a time_n as_o to_o suffer_v mere_o for_o religion_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n he_o shall_v then_o common_o find_v such_o wonderful_a comfort_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o mind_n that_o he_o will_v even_o triumph_v and_o rejoice_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o his_o suffering_n as_o we_o know_v the_o apostle_n and_o primitive_a christian_n do_v and_o that_o especial_o in_o hope_n of_o even_o at_o death_n a_o good_a man_n have_v ground_n of_o much_o comfort_n have_v the_o testimony_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o the_o sense_n of_o god_n love_n so_o that_o with_o saint_n stephen_n he_o may_v commit_v his_o soul_n into_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n who_o be_v ready_a to_o receive_v he_o but_o how_o sad_a be_v it_o with_o a_o wicked_a man_n when_o beside_o companion_n than_o in_o worship_v of_o god_n in_o the_o communion_n of_o saint_n they_o love_v not_o prayer_n and_o praise_n in_o the_o assembly_n of_o his_o people_n nor_o have_v any_o mind_n to_o come_v to_o the_o lord_n table_n though_o often_o invite_v thereto_o and_o therefore_o must_v they_o now_o be_v shut_v out_o from_o such_o holy_a company_n and_o from_o such_o high_a and_o heavenly_a employment_n for_o which_o they_o be_v altogether_o unfit_a they_o be_v many_o of_o they_o great_o give_v to_o curse_v and_o now_o it_o be_v come_v upon_o they_o that_o curse_n of_o god_n which_o they_o in_o their_o rage_n often_o wish_v to_o their_o neighbour_n be_v now_o fall_v upon_o themselves_o nay_o do_v not_o many_o of_o these_o profane_a wretch_n even_o call_v for_o this_o curse_n filthy_a discourse_n or_o in_o any_o wanton_a carriage_n and_o behaviour_n for_o the_o prevent_n of_o all_o wickedness_n in_o this_o kind_n god_n have_v allow_v marriage_n which_o be_v say_v to_o be_v honourable_a in_o all_o but_o whoremonger_n and_o adulterer_n god_n will_v judge_v hib._n 13._o 4._o wherefore_o let_v they_o who_o be_v in_o that_o state_n keep_v strict_o true_a to_o their_o
