necessity_n of_o saint_n not_o stretch_v ourselves_o as_o on_o bed_n of_o ivory_n drink_v wine_n in_o bowl_n chant_v to_o the_o sound_n of_o the_o viol_n and_o organ_n etc._n etc._n and_o forget_v the_o affliction_n of_o joseph_n wait_v long_v for_o the_o kingdom_n and_o appearance_n of_o christ_n if_o such_o thing_n as_o these_o be_v not_o in_o we_o we_o be_v save_v the_o life_n of_o a_o short_a figure_n and_o lose_v our_o soul_n and_o the_o life_n eternal_a that_o be_v for_o ever_o we_o be_v in_o a_o dream_n and_o make_v that_o image_n god_n and_o christ_n will_v sudden_o awake_v and_o despise_v as_o a_o conclusion_n and_o as_o a_o addition_n to_o the_o second_o head_n i_o will_v inquire_v into_o the_o meaning_n and_o importance_n of_o that_o vehement_a question_n signify_v that_o the_o loss_n of_o a_o soul_n can_v be_v slumber_v away_o what_o shall_v a_o man_n give_v in_o exchange_n for_o his_o soul_n and_o it_o speak_v these_o three_o thing_n 1._o suppose_v that_o a_o person_n can_v have_v the_o whole_a world_n in_o his_o hand_n to_o give_v it_o will_v be_v utter_o despise_v it_o will_v be_v of_o no_o value_n this_o must_v needs_o be_v so_o for_o if_o the_o world_n can_v be_v of_o value_n to_o exchange_n for_o a_o lose_a soul_n it_o must_v then_o needs_o have_v preserve_v the_o soul_n from_o be_v lose_v for_o a_o man_n therefore_o to_o come_v and_o say_v to_o god_n here_o be_v the_o estate_n i_o have_v get_v with_o the_o loss_n of_o my_o soul_n here_o be_v the_o great_a revenue_n i_o have_v attain_v and_o leave_v to_o posterity_n here_o be_v the_o year_n i_o have_v spend_v in_o pleasure_n and_o that_o i_o be_v bless_v upon_o account_n of_o by_o all_o that_o live_v about_o i_o and_o know_v i_o because_o i_o live_v in_o pomp_n and_o state_n in_o all_o i_o can_v desire_v and_o do_v as_o the_o psalmist_n express_v it_o well_o to_o myself_o will_v this_o if_o it_o can_v be_v all_o give_v back_o be_v a_o exchange_n for_o a_o lose_a soul_n no_o the_o redemption_n of_o soul_n be_v precious_a and_o cease_v for_o ever_o as_o to_o any_o such_o exchange_n will_v the_o remembrance_n of_o it_o appease_v a_o angry_a god_n or_o as_o enrage_a conscience_n alas_o that_o will_v be_v the_o burden_n and_o sting_v of_o that_o condition_n as_o the_o apostle_n james_n speak_v your_o riches_n be_v corrupt_v and_o your_o garment_n moth-faten_a your_o gold_n and_o silver_n be_v canker_v and_o the_o rust_n of_o they_o shall_v witness_v against_o you_o and_o eat_v your_o flesh_n as_o it_o be_v fire_n you_o have_v heap_v treasure_n together_o for_o the_o last_o day_n james_n 5._o 2_o 3._o etc._n etc._n 2._o be_v there_o any_o of_o the_o creature_n in_o heaven_n or_o earth_n that_o can_v stretch_v out_o a_o hand_n or_o a_o arm_n of_o compassion_n in_o such_o a_o case_n as_o this_o be_v of_o a_o lose_a soul_n be_v there_o any_o of_o the_o angel_n of_o the_o high_a principality_n in_o heaven_n the_o throne_n and_o dominion_n there_o that_o can_v step_v in_o in_o a_o way_n of_o might_n and_o tender_a compassion_n and_o say_v oh_o soul_n that_o be_v lose_v now_o will_v i_o help_v now_o will_v i_o interpose_v and_o bring_v thou_o off_o from_o thy_o lose_a state_n and_o rescue_v thou_o or_o any_o of_o the_o saint_n that_o have_v know_v the_o temptation_n of_o human_a nature_n on_o earth_n or_o know_v any_o particular_a lose_a soul_n alas_o this_o be_v all_o impossible_a as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o job_n call_v now_o if_o there_o be_v any_o that_o will_v answer_v thou_o and_o to_o which_o of_o the_o saint_n will_v thou_o turn_v job_n 5._o 1._o they_o all_o justify_v and_o glorify_v the_o righteous_a judgement_n of_o god_n in_o that_o lose_a state_n of_o the_o person_n that_o have_v undervalue_v his_o soul_n they_o praise_v the_o be_v so_o however_o he_o be_v oblige_v not_o to_o confess_v it_o but_o i_o will_v deal_v with_o he_o by_o way_n of_o proportion_n upon_o our_o saviour_n word_n in_o such_o a_o sense_n as_o he_o will_v allow_v that_o a_o man_n get_v nothing_o though_o he_o shall_v gain_v the_o whole_a world_n and_o lose_v his_o life_n in_o that_o moment_n he_o gain_v it_o i_o ask_v he_o in_o his_o way_n of_o certainty_n what_o be_v that_o man_n the_o better_a if_o then_o it_o be_v but_o possible_a though_o not_o certain_a there_o shall_v be_v a_o soul_n to_o rue_v the_o loss_n of_o itself_o in_o a_o christian_a sense_n he_o know_v what_o he_o can_v get_v all_o be_v but_o such_o a_o part_n of_o the_o world_n as_o he_o can_v get_v it_o be_v but_o a_o world_n he_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o when_o he_o die_v and_o there_o be_v this_o bridle_n in_o his_o jaw_n do_v what_o he_o can_v he_o can_v shake_v that_o off_o he_o must_v die_v he_o know_v not_o how_o soon_o and_o there_o remain_v a_o possibility_n of_o a_o soul_n in_o a_o lose_a state_n after_o all_o the_o world_n what_o odds_o therefore_o do_v he_o give_v against_o himself_o in_o make_v nothing_o of_o a_o soul_n for_o a_o little_a of_o the_o world_n in_o a_o life_n that_o can_v with_o all_o it_o have_v defray_v the_o charge_n of_o live_v the_o vanity_n and_o vexation_n of_o spirit_n that_o certain_o attend_v life_n and_o the_o certainty_n it_o must_v end_v and_o whole_o uncertain_a how_o soon_o and_o yet_o he_o stand_v the_o hazard_n of_o a_o soul_n miserable_a for_o ever_o in_o its_o be_v lose_v and_o for_o
