his_o temporal_a welfare_n but_o also_o of_o his_o spiritual_a by_o rebuke_v he_o when_o he_o sin_n and_o likewise_o be_v so_o far_o from_o avenge_a themselves_o when_o injure_v by_o he_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o so_o much_o as_o bear_v a_o grudge_n against_o he_o he_o conclude_v all_o with_o that_o which_o ought_v to_o be_v the_o spring_n from_o which_o all_o these_o good_a office_n to_o our_o neighbour_n shall_v proceed_v and_o which_o in_o short_a full_o teach_v we_o the_o extent_n of_o our_o duty_n to_o he_o thou_o shall_v love_v thy_o neighbour_n as_o thyself_o that_o be_v plain_o that_o as_o we_o love_v ourselves_o and_o from_o that_o principle_n of_o love_n do_v good_a to_o ourselves_o so_o we_o shall_v also_o love_v our_o neighbour_n and_o from_o that_o principle_n of_o love_n to_o he_o shall_v do_v he_o all_o the_o good_a that_o we_o can_v not_o only_o bare_o perform_v towards_o he_o the_o outward_a act_n of_o those_o duty_n here_o enjoin_v or_o any_o other_o but_o perform_v they_o upon_o the_o same_o principle_n of_o delight_n and_o complaisance_n in_o his_o well_o be_v which_o we_o have_v in_o our_o own_o without_o which_o all_o our_o performance_n will_v be_v defective_a we_o must_v here_o consider_v moses_n speak_v either_o as_o a_o lawgiver_n or_o as_o a_o philosopher_n if_o as_o the_o first_o then_o without_o doubt_n he_o must_v be_v think_v to_o have_v speak_v so_o as_o the_o people_n who_o he_o speak_v to_o can_v the_o easy_a apprehend_v he_o and_o the_o whole_a scope_n of_o his_o discourse_n make_v the_o abovementioned_a sense_n of_o his_o word_n plain_o the_o most_o obvious_a meaning_n of_o they_o viz._n that_o as_o people_n love_v themselves_o and_o upon_o that_o principle_n of_o love_n do_v good_a to_o themselves_o so_o also_o it_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o love_v their_o neighbour_n without_o which_o they_o can_v discharge_v what_o they_o owe_v to_o he_o neither_o can_v any_o other_o sense_n be_v put_v upon_o the_o word_n of_o moses_n thou_o shall_v love_v thy_o neighbour_n as_o thyself_o without_o the_o learned_a distinction_n of_o love_n of_o benevolence_n and_o love_n of_o concupiscence_n which_o it_o be_v hard_o to_o believe_v that_o mr._n n_n or_o any_o one_o else_o can_v think_v many_o if_o any_o of_o the_o israelite_n be_v acquaint_v with_o though_o if_o he_o can_v suppose_v they_o have_v be_v so_o and_o that_o moses_n himself_o have_v have_v regard_n to_o it_o and_o have_v also_o philosophised_a as_o ill_a as_o the_o people_n i_o wonder_v mr._n n._n shall_v not_o see_v that_o it_o will_v yet_o make_v nothing_o to_o his_o purpose_n since_o moses_n be_v not_o here_o tell_v they_o all_o that_o they_o lawful_o may_v do_v but_o all_o that_o they_o necessary_o must_v do_v not_o to_o fail_v in_o their_o duty_n but_o if_o mr._n n._n have_v rather_o moses_n shall_v be_v consider_v here_o speak_v as_o a_o philosopher_n according_a to_o and_o instruct_v the_o people_n in_o the_o true_a nature_n of_o thing_n as_o well_o as_o lay_v down_o precept_n for_o they_o to_o obey_v it_o be_v then_o more_o evident_a that_o the_o word_n of_o moses_n will_v not_o only_o not_o comply_v with_o the_o sense_n he_o put_v upon_o they_o but_o also_o that_o they_o be_v opposite_a to_o it_o for_o moses_n say_v thou_o shall_v love_v thy_o neighbour_n as_o thyself_o that_o be_v thou_o shall_v take_v the_o same_o complaisance_n in_o the_o be_v and_o well_o be_v of_o thy_o neighbour_n as_o in_o thy_o own_o now_o it_o be_v manifest_o impossible_a and_o contradictious_a that_o we_o shall_v rejoice_v and_o take_v complaisance_n in_o
