of_o it_o and_o justify_v yourself_o by_o it_o and_o then_o god_n know_v what_o it_o be_v that_o you_o so_o magnify_v and_o make_v the_o ground_n of_o your_o claim_n to_o salvation_n it_o be_v even_o a_o empty_a ceremony_n a_o shadow_n without_o substance_n a_o body_n without_o a_o soul_n you_o speak_v and_o look_v and_o hear_v you_o exercise_v some_o outward_a sense_n but_o no_o inward_a affection_n and_o what_o shall_v that_o be_v to_o he_o who_o be_v a_o spirit_n they_o do_v not_o observe_v the_o iniquity_n of_o their_o holy_a thing_n and_o therefore_o be_v they_o mark_v by_o he_o they_o be_v in_o his_o sight_n they_o do_v not_o see_v so_o many_o fault_n in_o their_o prayer_n and_o service_n they_o wonder_v why_o god_n do_v chide_v they_o so_o much_o but_o god_n mark_n what_o we_o miss_v he_o remember_v when_o we_o forget_v we_o cover_v ourselves_o with_o a_o veil_n of_o external_n duty_n and_o think_v to_o hide_v all_o the_o rottenness_n of_o our_o heart_n but_o it_o will_v not_o be_v hide_v from_o he_o before_o who_o hell_n have_v no_o cover_n all_o heart_n be_v open_a and_o naked_a before_o he_o your_o secret_a sin_n be_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o his_o countenance_n man_n hear_v you_o pray_v see_v you_o present_a at_o worship_n they_o know_v no_o more_o at_o least_o they_o see_v no_o more_o nay_o but_o the_o formality_n of_o thy_o worship_n the_o wander_n of_o thy_o mind_n be_v in_o his_o sight_n and_o o_o how_o excellent_a a_o rule_n of_o walk_v be_v this_o to_o do_v all_o in_o his_o sight_n and_o presence_n oh_o that_o you_o be_v persuade_v in_o your_o heart_n of_o his_o all-seing_a all-searching_a eye_n and_o all-knowing_a mind_n will_v you_o not_o be_v more_o solicitous_a and_o anxious_a anent_o the_o frame_n of_o your_o heart_n then_o the_o liberty_n of_o your_o speech_n or_o external_n gesture_n oh_o how_o will_v man_n retire_v within_o themselves_o to_o fashion_v their_o spirit_n before_o this_o all-searching_a and_o all-knowing_a spirit_n if_o you_o do_v not_o observe_v the_o evil_n of_o your_o heart_n and_o way_n they_o be_v in_o his_o sight_n and_o this_o will_v spoil_v all_o acceptance_n of_o the_o good_a of_o they_o if_o you_o observe_v the_o evil_n of_o your_o well_o do_v and_o bring_v these_o also_o to_o the_o fountain_n to_o wash_v they_o and_o be_v about_o this_o earnest_a endeavour_n of_o perfect_a holiness_n of_o perfect_a well-doing_n in_o the_o power_n and_o fear_n of_o god_n then_o certain_o he_o will_v not_o set_v your_o sin_n in_o the_o light_n of_o his_o countenance_n the_o good_a of_o your_o way_n shall_v come_v before_o he_o and_o the_o evil_a of_o it_o christ_n shall_v take_v away_o cease_v to_o do_v evil_a etc._n etc._n these_o be_v the_o two_o leg_n a_o christian_a walk_n on_o if_o he_o want_v any_o of_o they_o he_o be_v lame_a and_o can_v go_v equal_o cease_v from_o evil_a and_o do_v good_a nay_o they_o be_v so_o unite_v that_o the_o one_o can_v subsist_v without_o the_o of_o man_n there_o be_v general_o one_o of_o two_o some_o have_v a_o kind_n of_o abstinence_n from_o many_o gross_a sin_n and_o be_v call_v civil_a honest_a man_n they_o can_v abide_v a_o inquest_n and_o censure_n of_o all_o their_o neighbour_n they_o can_v say_v no_o ill_a of_o they_o but_o alas_o there_o be_v all_o be_v little_a good_a to_o be_v say_v he_o drink_v not_o swear_v not_o whore_n not_o steal_v not_o nay_o but_o what_o do_v he_o well_o alas_o the_o world_n can_v tell_v what_o he_o do_v for_o he_o pray_v not_o in_o secret_a nor_o in_o his_o family_n he_o be_v void_a of_o some_o offence_n towards_o man_n but_o there_o be_v many_o duty_n call_v to_o towards_o both_o god_n and_o man_n he_o be_v a_o stranger_n to_o he_o oppress_v not_o the_o poor_a nay_o but_o he_o be_v not_o charitable_a either_o to_o give_v to_o they_o he_o defraud_n no_o man_n but_o who_o help_v he_o by_o his_o mean_n again_o there_o be_v other_o they_o will_v boast_v of_o some_o thing_n do_v they_o pray_v they_o keep_v the_o church_n well_o they_o do_v many_o good_a turn_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o they_o do_v not_o cease_v to_o do_v evil_a they_o be_v drunkard_n so_o they_o be_v they_o can_v swear_v for_o all_o their_o prayer_n be_v give_v to_o contention_n to_o lie_v to_o filthiness_n etc._n etc._n now_o i_o say_v neither_o of_o these_o religion_n be_v pure_a and_o undefiled_a religion_n
