they_o be_v in_o the_o land_n of_o canaan_n they_o be_v fain_o to_o fight_v for_o it_o before_o the_o canaanite_n be_v dispossess_v that_o be_v but_o a_o type_n of_o this_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n almighty_a power_n that_o have_v possess_v we_o with_o this_o liberty_n and_o freedom_n from_o iniquity_n but_o yet_o notwihstand_v before_o we_o can_v come_v to_o enjoy_v a_o full_a liberty_n from_o all_o iniquity_n we_o must_v fight_v for_o it_o and_o wage_v the_o battle_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o true_o my_o brethren_n christian_n be_v miserable_o guilty_a of_o be_v under_o the_o power_n of_o iniquity_n much_o more_o than_o they_o may_v because_o they_o be_v lazy_a and_o idle_a and_o they_o do_v not_o labour_v to_o deliver_v themselves_o from_o under_o the_o remainder_n of_o iniquity_n but_o even_o as_o it_o be_v with_o the_o israelite_n which_o be_v but_o a_o type_n of_o believer_n in_o judg._n 2.2_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o you_o shall_v make_v no_o league_n with_o the_o that_o christ_n give_v himself_o for_o this_o end_n to_o redeem_v we_o from_o all_o iniquity_n it_o serve_v for_o a_o threefold_a instruction_n first_o of_o all_o to_o teach_v we_o that_o there_o be_v no_o need_n of_o any_o satisfaction_n on_o our_o part_n to_o appease_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n or_o deliver_v we_o from_o our_o iniquity_n for_o christ_n have_v give_v himself_o to_o do_v it_o therefore_o it_o be_v but_o a_o silly_a thing_n to_o think_v that_o we_o can_v come_v after_o and_o do_v it_o the_o very_a thing_n whereby_o man_n shall_v satisfy_v god_n wrath_n christ_n have_v to_o do_v all_o he_o command_v yet_o this_o shut_v not_o out_o their_o endeavour_n his_o promise_n of_o enable_v they_o be_v upon_o this_o supposition_n that_o they_o do_v endeavour_n in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o mean_n he_o shall_v appoint_v they_o the_o lord_n in_o promise_v do_v not_o mean_a that_o they_o shall_v be_v idle_a and_o look_v that_o he_o shall_v do_v all_o but_o his_o promise_a include_v their_o endeavour_v and_o upon_o their_o endeavour_v in_o the_o use_n of_o the_o mean_n that_o god_n have_v appoint_v he_o have_v promise_v to_o enable_v they_o to_o do_v what_o he_o have_v command_v and_o this_o be_v very_o express_v in_o that_o same_o of_o the_o prophet_n ezek._n 36._o verse_n 27._o and_o verse_n 37._o lay_v together_o in_o verse_n 27._o there_o be_v a_o promise_n to_o make_v they_o able_a to_o keep_v the_o law_n of_o god_n i_o will_v put_v my_o spirit_n within_o you_o and_o cause_v you_o to_o walk_v in_o my_o statute_n and_o you_o shall_v keep_v my_o judgement_n his_o commandment_n and_o his_o commandment_n be_v not_o grievous_a here_o be_v a_o paradox_n what_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n not_o grievous_a this_o the_o world_n can_v believe_v the_o reason_n of_o the_o apostle_n say_v they_o be_v not_o grievous_a be_v because_o of_o our_o love_n to_o god_n for_o who_o we_o love_v none_o of_o his_o commandment_n can_v be_v grievous_a to_o we_o but_o this_o nature_n to_o obey_v nothing_o hard_a to_o corrupt_v infirm_a nature_n than_o god_n command_n but_o yet_o see_v that_o god_n have_v promise_v to_o enable_v we_o to_o yield_v obedience_n to_o every_o commandment_n so_o we_o will_v do_v our_o endeavour_n what_o grievousnesse_n or_o what_o unreasonableness_n be_v there_o in_o the_o commandment_n you_o may_v conceive_v it_o by_o this_o similitude_n a_o king_n come_v to_o one_o of_o his_o subject_n that_o it_o may_v be_v be_v not_o worth_a a_o thousand_o pound_n and_o give_v he_o a_o commandment_n to_o pay_v ten_o thousand_o pound_n but_o
