the_o angel_n of_o god_n be_v not_o sufficient_a and_o now_o we_o return_v to_o the_o thoughtful_a gentleman_n this_o gentleman_n think_v to_o thrust_v home_o this_o argument_n to_o the_o ruin_n of_o the_o catholic_n doctrine_n for_o he_o say_v it_o be_v write_v with_o the_o finger_n of_o truth_n and_o unanswerable_a p._n 3._o col_fw-fr 2._o but_o that_o the_o orthodox_n be_v wont_a to_o swallow_v all_o sort_n of_o contradiction_n and_o to_o cast_v dust_n in_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o simple_a this_o reproach_n notwithstanding_o we_o will_v go_v hand_n in_o hand_n with_o he_o in_o search_n of_o that_o truth_n which_o this_o scripture_n propound_v for_o we_o be_v agree_v that_o our_o saviour_n deliver_v his_o doctrine_n in_o profound_a wisdom_n have_v regard_n to_o the_o circumstance_n of_o place_n time_n and_o person_n by_o these_o particular_n we_o shall_v examine_v the_o text_n lay_v down_o this_o general_a observation_n that_o st._n john_n be_v desire_v by_o the_o church_n of_o ephesus_n who_o be_v pester_v with_o the_o heresy_n of_o the_o gnostic_n ebion_n and_o cerinthus_n who_o deny_v the_o deity_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o ascribe_v the_o creation_n to_o certain_a aeones_n or_o angel_n deny_v it_o to_o be_v ascribe_v to_o christ_n both_o which_o error_n he_o particular_o refute_v 1._o then_o consider_v the_o person_n with_o who_o he_o have_v to_o
