in_o duty_n of_o piety_n as_o well_o as_o righteousness_n and_o to_o strive_v for_o inward_a piety_n as_o well_o as_o outward_a resolve_v to_o continue_v as_o well_o as_o once_o to_o begin_v hence_o it_o be_v if_o we_o mark_v it_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o diverse_a scripture_n draw_v for_o the_o people_n of_o those_o time_n diverse_a catalogue_n either_o of_o grace_n which_o special_o tend_v to_o their_o praise_n or_o of_o duty_n that_o most_o fit_v their_o state_n or_o of_o sin_n that_o they_o must_v most_o careful_o avoid_v as_o be_v most_o common_o commit_v yea_o it_o can_v not_o but_o be_v of_o excellent_a use_n if_o we_o do_v task_n ourselves_o to_o the_o more_o strict_a observation_n of_o some_o of_o those_o catalogue_n either_o of_o grace_n or_o sin_n or_o duty_n as_o we_o may_v perceive_v they_o most_o fit_v vs._n but_o if_o ever_o we_o will_v go_v about_o the_o order_n of_o our_o life_n rule_n we_o must_v in_o general_n 1._o labour_n to_o weaken_v the_o love_n of_o earthly_a thing_n 2._o we_o must_v resolve_v to_o keep_v our_o heart_n with_o all_o diligence_n i_o mean_v we_o must_v with_o all_o care_n and_o conscience_n strive_v against_o inward_a sin_n 3._o we_o must_v put_v on_o a_o mind_n to_o live_v by_o faith_n whatsoever_o befall_v vs._n 4._o if_o we_o fall_v we_o will_v speedy_o recover_v ourselves_o by_o confession_n and_o prayer_n and_o not_o accustom_v ourselves_o to_o sin_n either_o of_o omission_n or_o commission_n upon_o the_o consideration_n of_o all_o this_o use_v what_o shall_v we_o do_v but_o even_o pray_v the_o lord_n steadfastness_n be_v diverse_a some_o have_v not_o faith_n at_o all_o 3.2_o some_o have_v not_o a_o true_a justify_n faith_n but_o either_o rest_n upon_o common_a hope_n or_o a_o historical_a or_o temporary_a faith_n in_o many_o the_o presumption_n of_o certainty_n do_v hinder_v steadfastness_n itself_o some_o want_n powerful_a mean_n that_o shall_v establish_v they_o and_o some_o have_v the_o public_a mean_n be_v just_o blast_v in_o their_o faith_n because_o of_o their_o daily_a neglect_n of_o the_o private_a mean_n and_o this_o reason_n may_v be_v give_v also_o why_o some_o of_o the_o better_a sort_n be_v not_o yet_o establish_v namely_o because_o they_o be_v so_o hardly_o excite_v and_o persuade_v serious_o to_o try_v their_o own_o estate_n

the_o unregenerate_a heart_n of_o man_n compose_v that_o he_o do_v not_o only_o live_v and_o sin_n but_o he_o live_v in_o sin_n and_o with_o sin_n and_o by_o sin_n too_o he_o live_v in_o sin_n because_o he_o be_v drown_v under_o the_o power_n and_o guilt_n of_o sin_n he_o live_v with_o sin_n because_o he_o be_v not_o a_o guest_n only_o but_o a_o soiourner_n also_o with_o his_o sin_n sin_n keep_v the_o house_n and_o the_o ●inne_n be_v at_o bed_n and_o board_n there_o and_o he_o live_v by_o sin_n to_o for_o most_o sinner_n can_v contrive_v how_o to_o live_v without_o they_o the_o lecher_n can_v live_v without_o his_o mistress_n &_o the_o usurer_n can_v live_v without_o his_o gain_n and_o so_o of_o the_o rest_n all_o these_o be_v woeful_a circumstance_n of_o evil_a and_o do_v marvellous_o decipher_v out_o a_o soul_n that_o feel_v not_o the_o life_n of_o jesus_n christ_n in_o he_o and_o they_o impart_v also_o a_o further_a misery_n it_o be_v easy_a to_o commit_v sin_n but_o it_o be_v not_o easy_a to_o be_v rid_v of_o sin_n a_o man_n may_v also_o quick_o forget_v his_o sin_n but_o he_o shall_v not_o so_o quick_o forgo_v his_o sin_n for_o howsoever_o by_o god_n singular_a patience_n he_o live_v for_o all_o his_o sin_n yet_o by_o the_o singular_a wretchedness_n of_o his_o condition_n all_o his_o sin_n will_v live_v with_o he_o they_o be_v not_o transient_a but_o so_o
