follow_v moreover_o that_o the_o watery_a essence_n incline_v to_o rest_n and_o death_n in_o opposition_n to_o the_o vivify_a fiery_a essence_n may_v be_v hence_o discernible_a because_o the_o watery_a cool_a and_o refrigerate_v essence_n have_v dominion_n in_o the_o night_n as_o the_o fiery_a in_o the_o day_n this_o be_v the_o order_n which_o god_n have_v establish_v in_o the_o world_n viz._n that_o the_o sun_n which_o be_v a_o fiery_a be_v shall_v rule_v or_o have_v dominion_n over_o the_o day_n and_o the_o moon_n over_o the_o night_n gen._n 1.16_o and_o for_o as_o much_o as_o the_o moon_n be_v refrigerative_a or_o cooling_n like_o the_o water_n and_o have_v dominion_n over_o the_o water_n as_o have_v be_v show_v in_o our_o observation_n concern_v man_n §_o 25._o consequent_o it_o must_v be_v of_o the_o nature_n of_o water_n see_v therefore_o that_o the_o moon_n be_v of_o the_o watery_a essence_n and_o have_v dominion_n over_o the_o night_n and_o that_o the_o night_n cause_v rest_n and_o sleep_n as_o have_v be_v show_v in_o the_o aforesaid_a observation_n §_o 26._o and_o that_o sleep_n be_v death_n in_o a_o less_o degree_n as_o have_v be_v show_v in_o our_o observation_n §_o 32._o from_o all_o this_o i_o say_v it_o follow_v that_o the_o watery_a essence_n must_v be_v operative_a of_o sleep_n and_o death_n from_o what_o have_v be_v say_v we_o may_v also_o understand_v the_o contrary_a observation_n of_o the_o water_n to_o that_o of_o the_o fiery_a essence_n for_o as_o heat_n and_o cold_a life_n and_o death_n be_v opposite_a to_o one_o another_o so_o likewise_o be_v light_n and_o darkness_n now_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o light_n proceed_v from_o the_o fiery_a essence_n and_o therefore_o by_o consequence_n the_o watery_a essence_n must_v excite_v darkness_n because_o fire_n and_o water_n be_v contrary_a to_o each_o other_o and_o therefore_o we_o must_v conclude_v that_o the_o contrary_a effect_n of_o light_n and_o darkness_n be_v the_o product_n of_o their_o opposite_a essence_n §_o 105._o now_o that_o the_o watery_a essence_n include_v darkness_n in_o itself_o the_o moon_n will_v inform_v we_o which_o be_v a_o watery_a essence_n rule_n or_o bear_v dominion_n by_o night_n over_o the_o darkness_n and_o therefore_o must_v partake_v of_o darkness_n for_o where_o there_o be_v a_o dominion_n there_o must_v also_o â—e_v a_o union_n or_o communication_n with_o that_o which_o be_v rule_v and_o where_o there_o be_v a_o union_n there_o must_v be_v also_o a_o participation_n of_o the_o same_o nature_n furthermore_o it_o be_v evident_a from_o the_o creation_n that_o the_o watery_a essence_n do_v partake_v of_o the_o darkness_n for_o gen._n 1.1_o 2._o it_o be_v say_v that_o in_o the_o beginning_n god_n create_v the_o heaven_n and_o earth_n where_o moses_n intimate_v to_o we_o through_o or_o by_o who_o create_v the_o world_n viz._n in_o or_o through_o the_o beginning_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d in_o the_o the_o creator_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o john_n in_o the_o same_o place_n express_o tell_v we_o and_o that_o moses_n gen._n 1.1_o intimate_v to_o we_o by_o who_o god_n create_v the_o word_n be_v evident_a from_o hence_o because_o when_o god_n create_v the_o world_n there_o be_v not_o yet_o any_o beginning_n of_o time_n beside_o what_o wisdom_n can_v there_o otherwise_o be_v find_v in_o these_o word_n when_o it_o be_v say_v that_o in_o the_o beginning_n god_n create_v heaven_n and_o earth_n if_o by_o the_o beginning_n be_v mean_v only_o the_o begin_n of_o time_n which_o can_v signify_v no_o more_o than_o this_o that_o when_o god_n create_v the_o world_n he_o do_v create_v it_o for_o all_o man_n know_v that_o every_o thing_n must_v have_v a_o beginning_n of_o be_v that_o thing_n which_o it_o be_v when_o it_o be_v first_o produce_v this_o be_v self_n evident_a neither_o can_v it_o be_v say_v of_o any_o thing_n after_o that_o it_o be_v create_v that_o it_o shall_v yet_o be_v create_v so_o that_o there_o will_v be_v not_o only_o no_o wisdom_n in_o these_o word_n of_o moses_n but_o not_o so_o much_o as_o any_o passable_a sense_n shall_v we_o take_v they_o in_o the_o meaning_n according_a to_o which_o most_o man_n now_o a_o day_n do_v apprehend_v they_o but_o what_o be_v more_o the_o word_n will_v not_o so_o much_o as_o contain_v a_o truth_n if_o by_o in_o the_o beginning_n we_o understand_v the_o beginning_n of_o time_n for_o time_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o limitation_n we_o conceive_v in_o our_o thought_n either_o according_a to_o the_o course_n of_o the_o sun_n or_o the_o motion_n of_o any_o other_o thing_n from_o one_o place_n to_o another_o now_o where_o there_o be_v a_o limitation_n
