whereby_o we_o be_v further_v and_o fit_v and_o prepare_v to_o drink_v new_a wine_n with_o christ_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n that_o be_v to_o say_v to_o the_o participation_n of_o that_o glory_n that_o christ_n shall_v make_v we_o partaker_n of_o in_o heaven_n for_o the_o other_o that_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n effectual_o remember_v do_v so_o too_o look_v heb._n 9.28_o so_o many_o good_a and_o able_a and_o painful_a preacher_n as_o there_o be_v scarce_o any_o church_n under_o the_o sun_n that_o can_v match_v us._n let_v we_o therefore_o embrace_v this_o save_a grace_n let_v we_o believe_v and_o obey_v this_o word_n which_o be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n to_o salvation_n let_v we_o remember_v the_o fall_n of_o the_o jew_n and_o take_v heed_n to_o ourselves_o that_o by_o our_o contempt_n and_o unprofitablenesse_n we_o do_v not_o provoke_v god_n to_o do_v by_o we_o as_o he_o do_v by_o they_o hark_v what_o the_o apostle_n say_v rom._n 11.20_o etc._n etc._n through_o unbelief_n they_o be_v break_v off_o and_o thou_o stand_v by_o faith_n be_v not_o high_a mind_v but_o fear_v for_o if_o he_o spare_v not_o they_o be_v the_o natural_a branch_n take_v heed_n lest_o he_o spare_v not_o thou_o be_v but_o a_o wild_a olive_n graft_v in_o for_o they_o let_v it_o appear_v to_o the_o world_n and_o let_v we_o find_v the_o experience_n of_o it_o to_o our_o own_o heart_n that_o there_o be_v power_n in_o the_o gospel_n to_o convert_v our_o soul_n and_o to_o change_v our_o heart_n and_o to_o make_v we_o to_o become_v new_a creature_n it_o be_v not_o our_o live_n under_o the_o gospel_n but_o our_o submission_n of_o our_o heart_n to_o the_o power_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o shall_v save_v our_o soul_n use_v 4_o four_o this_o teach_v we_o to_o pity_v the_o jew_n and_o to_o pray_v for_o they_o as_o the_o ancient_a people_n of_o god_n and_o still_o have_v they_o in_o this_o covenant_n of_o grace_n together_o with_o us._n general_o we_o hate_v a_o jew_n and_o we_o take_v it_o up_o for_o a_o proverb_n when_o we_o speak_v of_o our_o hatred_n against_o any_o we_o say_v we_o hate_v they_o as_o a_o jew_n it_o be_v a_o wicked_a speech_n and_o not_o beseem_v a_o christian_n in_o regard_n of_o that_o foul_a sin_n of_o they_o in_o crucify_a christ_n we_o hate_v they_o just_o though_o god_n out_o of_o that_o evil_a of_o they_o do_v bring_v much_o pray_v for_o peter_n exhort_v even_o they_o that_o crucify_v christ_n to_o repent_v and_o be_v baptize_v in_o his_o name_n for_o remission_n of_o sin_n and_o then_o all_o be_v well_o god_n have_v extend_v his_o mercy_n to_o they_o and_o therefore_o let_v we_o help_v they_o with_o our_o faith_n and_o prayer_n to_o god_n that_o they_o may_v enjoy_v it_o and_o what_o man_n be_v there_o that_o and_o she_o have_v no_o teets_n what_o shall_v we_o do_v for_o she_o in_o the_o day_n that_o she_o shall_v be_v speak_v for_o she_o be_v in_o possession_n of_o god_n favour_n see_v what_o moan_n she_o make_v for_o we_o be_v then_o but_o castaway_n therefore_o we_o be_v in_o possession_n of_o god_n favour_n and_o they_o cast_v out_o let_v we_o take_v up_o the_o same_o mournful_a note_n in_o their_o behalf_n and_o say_v we_o have_v a_o little_a sister_n and_o she_o have_v no_o teat_n her_o teat_n be_v once_o full_a of_o milk_n of_o god_n word_n and_o comfort_n but_o now_o they_o be_v altogether_o barren_a and_o dry_a what_o shall_v we_o do_v for_o she_o in_o the_o day_n that_o she_o shall_v be_v speak_v for_o this_o be_v the_o day_n wherein_o she_o be_v to_o be_v speak_v for_o even_o the_o blind_a eye_n that_o they_o may_v see_v the_o salvation_n of_o christ_n and_o that_o they_o may_v see_v the_o salvation_n of_o god_n and_o so_o all_o israel_n may_v be_v save_v and_o they_o and_o we_o may_v become_v one_o flock_n and_o be_v bring_v into_o one_o sheepfold_n under_o one_o shepherd_n jesus_n christ_n consider_v three_o that_o we_o live_v upon_o their_o loss_n and_o be_v raise_v up_o upon_o their_o spoil_n if_o a_o man_n beg_v of_o the_o king_n the_o good_n and_o land_n of_o another_o man_n that_o be_v condemn_v if_o he_o have_v any_o grace_n or_o good_a nature_n in_o he_o he_o will_v have_v care_n of_o that_o man_n seed_n and_o posterity_n to_o relieve_v they_o as_o much_o as_o in_o he_o lie_v we_o be_v build_v up_o by_o the_o ruin_n of_o the_o jew_n and_o therefore_o what_o great_a cause_n have_v we_o to_o pity_v their_o seed_n and_o posterity_n and_o to_o pray_v to_o god_n that_o he_o will_v call_v they_o home_o again_o and_o make_v they_o once_o again_o his_o own_o people_n consider_v fourthly_a that_o their_o call_n be_v the_o only_a sign_n not_o yet_o fulfil_v of_o christ_n come_v to_o judgement_n a_o thing_n which_o concern_v we_o all_o to_o groan_n and_o to_o pray_v for_o that_o it_o may_v be_v speedy_o accomplish_v and_o consequent_o that_o they_o may_v be_v speedy_o call_v and_o we_o must_v not_o pray_v for_o they_o only_o but_o we_o must_v labour_v to_o provoke_v they_o too_o how_o be_v that_o by_o our_o holiness_n of_o life_n and_o upright_o conversation_n we_o shall_v shine_v as_o light_n unto_o they_o in_o all_o good_a work_n that_o by_o our_o good_a example_n we_o may_v draw_v they_o to_o god_n and_o to_o take_v hold_n on_o god_n save_v ordinance_n as_o well_o as_o we_o and_o sure_o if_o the_o life_n of_o christian_n be_v such_o as_o they_o may_v and_o ought_v to_o be_v who_o know_v but_o that_o they_o may_v have_v be_v win_v long_o ere_o this_o we_o trade_n and_o traffic_v with_o they_o in_o many_o place_n and_o they_o care_v not_o to_o deceive_v we_o and_o we_o care_v as_o little_a to_o deceive_v they_o they_o take_v hold_v of_o this_o and_o other_o such_o great_a scandal_n and_o that_o be_v one_o great_a cause_n of_o the_o continuance_n of_o their_o hardness_n god_n intend_v this_o our_o provocation_n of_o they_o by_o give_v we_o the_o gospel_n for_o this_o be_v that_o provocation_n which_o the_o apostle_n so_o much_o urge_v rom._n 11._o when_o the_o father_n offer_v a_o piece_n of_o bread_n to_o his_o child_n if_o the_o child_n be_v sullen_a and_o refuse_v it_o the_o father_n will_v offer_v it_o to_o a_o dog_n and_o the_o child_n see_v that_o will_v catch_v at_o it_o he_o will_v have_v it_o himself_o rather_o then_o the_o dog_n shall_v have_v it_o when_o our_o saviour_n say_v it_o be_v not_o meet_v to_o take_v the_o child_n bread_n and_o cast_v it_o unto_o dog_n be_v it_o not_o a_o plain_a intimation_n that_o save_v grace_n be_v as_o bread_n the_o jew_n the_o child_n and_o the_o gentile_n dog_n god_n offer_v this_o save_a grace_n to_o the_o jew_n they_o like_v sullen_a child_n refuse_v this_o bread_n god_n give_v it_o to_o we_o be_v gentile_n and_o as_o it_o be_v dog_n that_o the_o child_n or_o jew_n see_v this_o may_v catch_v at_o it_o as_o be_v their_o own_o portion_n that_o the_o dog_n may_v not_o have_v it_o from_o they_o use_v 5_o five_o this_o teach_v we_o that_o there_o be_v many_o that_o shall_v be_v save_v but_o you_o will_v say_v how_o be_v it_o say_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v but_o a_o few_o save_v answer_v there_o be_v but_o few_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n haply_o not_o one_o to_o a_o thousand_o yet_o be_v consider_v in_o themselves_o they_o be_v a_o great_a number_n and_o indeed_o infinite_a as_o revel_v 7.9_o a_o great_a multitude_n that_o no_o man_n can_v number_v of_o all_o nation_n and_o kindred_n and_o people_n of_o the_o world_n but_o you_o will_v say_v be_v it_o so_o render_v that_o who_o will_n may_v have_v it_o we_o answer_v it_o be_v tender_v that_o whosoever_o believe_v it_o shall_v enjoy_v it_o but_o to_o believe_v be_v not_o in_o a_o man_n be_v own_o will_n and_o power_n none_o believe_v but_o those_o that_o god_n bestow_v this_o grace_n of_o faith_n upon_o and_o therefore_o that_o conceit_n of_o universal_a grace_n which_o intend_v not_o only_o a_o proffer_n on_o god_n part_n but_o also_o power_n enough_o on_o man_n part_n to_o apprehend_v it_o if_o he_o will_v himself_o be_v a_o peevish_a dream_n last_o this_o teach_v we_o concern_v this_o sacrament_n that_o we_o be_v to_o be_v prepare_v unto_o and_o that_o our_o saviour_n speak_v of_o in_o these_o very_a word_n that_o whosoever_o we_o be_v be_v we_o wise_a or_o simple_a be_v we_o bond_n or_o free_a we_o must_v come_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o this_o sacrament_n the_o seal_n of_o this_o save_a grace_n let_v we_o bring_v faith_n with_o we_o to_o apprehend_v it_o and_o believe_v it_o and_o then_o come_v and_o welcome_a there_o be_v no_o outward_a respect_n of_o our_o nation_n or_o condition_n whatsoever_o it_o be_v that_o debar_v we_o from_o it_o but_o be_v sure_a that_o thou_o have_v faith_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n else_o thou_o be_v none_o of_o the_o many_o here_o speak_v of_o thou_o shall_v not_o obtain_v this_o benefit_n of_o the_o remission_n of_o thy_o sin_n let_v we_o therefore_o every_o one_o examine_v ourselves_o whether_o we_o have_v this_o grace_n of_o faith_n or_o no_o if_o we_o have_v it_o we_o may_v and_o must_v come_v to_o this_o sacrament_n to_o have_v it_o further_o confirm_v be_v the_o apostle_n reach_v in_o these_o word_n for_o have_v make_v rehearsal_n of_o our_o saviour_n word_n in_o the_o 25_o verse_n present_o he_o say_v do_v this_o in_o remembrance_n of_o i_o and_o then_o he_o add_v again_o if_o you_o do_v this_o you_o show_v forth_o the_o lord_n death_n till_o he_o come_v the_o apostle_n build_v this_o very_a doctrine_n upon_o this_o very_a exhortation_n hold_v if_o we_o expound_v that_o for_o ever_o in_o that_o sign_n or_o in_o the_o type_n that_o be_v to_o say_v till_o christ_n his_o first_o come_n or_o till_o christ_n come_v and_o suffer_v in_o the_o flesh_n for_o that_o be_v the_o for_o ever_o that_o usual_o be_v speak_v of_o concern_v the_o sacrifice_n and_o sacrament_n of_o the_o former_a testament_n namely_o the_o come_n of_o christ_n time_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v the_o last_o change_n about_o the_o passage_n of_o the_o church_n that_o ever_o shall_v come_v they_o shall_v never_o be_v alter_v but_o they_o shall_v continue_v to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n reason_n 4_o a_o four_o reason_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o necessity_n of_o the_o church_n so_o long_o as_o the_o church_n of_o god_n live_v here_o upon_o earth_n we_o have_v need_n of_o the_o help_n of_o this_o sacrament_n to_o relieve_v our_o infirmity_n and_o our_o imperfection_n and_o to_o put_v we_o in_o mind_n of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n as_o the_o scripture_n show_v we_o plain_o it_o do_v not_o stand_v with_o the_o goodness_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n to_o suffer_v his_o church_n to_o lack_v any_o thing_n that_o it_o stand_v in_o such_o special_a need_n of_o for_o such_o a_o special_a duty_n therefore_o sure_o our_o saviour_n will_v never_o suffer_v his_o church_n to_o be_v destitute_a hereof_o but_o it_o shall_v continue_v with_o the_o church_n for_o ever_o it_o be_v partly_o the_o apostle_n reason_n 1_o cor._n 13.9_o 10._o in_o general_a we_o know_v but_o in_o part_n we_o prophesy_v but_o in_o part_n but_o when_o that_o which_o be_v perfect_a be_v come_v then_o shall_v that_o which_o be_v imperfect_a be_v do_v away_o our_o knowledge_n now_o be_v imperfect_a all_o our_o grace_n be_v imperfect_a indeed_o if_o indeed_o when_o perfection_n come_v we_o shall_v see_v perfect_o we_o need_v no_o glass_n but_o now_o so_o long_o as_o the_o church_n be_v upon_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n we_o have_v need_v to_o look_v upon_o christ_n in_o a_o glass_n be_v not_o the_o sacrament_n a_o glass_n wherein_o we_o may_v behold_v christ_n see_v then_o the_o church_n still_o need_v such_o a_o glass_n &_o it_o do_v not_o stand_v with_o the_o wisdom_n of_o christ_n to_o suffer_v it_o to_o want_v any_o needful_a help_n therefore_o during_o all_o the_o time_n of_o this_o our_o imperfection_n that_o be_v so_o long_o as_o we_o live_v here_o this_o sacrament_n must_v continue_v reason_n 5_o a_o fist_n reason_n may_v be_v draw_v from_o the_o unity_n of_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o church_n god_n have_v but_o one_o church_n all_o the_o faithful_a from_o christ_n first_o come_v to_o his_o second_o come_v they_o be_v but_o one_o flock_n they_o have_v all_o but_o one_o and_o the_o same_o faith_n and_o they_o must_v all_o have_v the_o same_o sacrament_n to_o be_v continue_v to_o they_o the_o whole_a reason_n be_v fetch_v from_o the_o apostle_n in_o ephes_n 4.5_o where_o he_o say_v there_o be_v one_o lord_n one_o faith_n one_o baptism_n if_o the_o faith_n must_v continue_v one_o and_o the_o same_o than_o the_o sacrament_n must_v continue_v one_o and_o the_o same_o one_o and_o the_o same_o faith_n must_v continue_v to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n therefore_o one_o and_o the_o same_o sacrament_n must_v continue_v to_o the_o world_n end_n reason_n 6_o the_o last_o reason_n be_v draw_v from_o the_o unchangeableness_n and_o from_o the_o absolute_a authority_n of_o the_o ordainer_n which_o be_v jesus_n christ_n himself_o christ_n be_v the_o lord_n of_o his_o church_n he_o have_v ordain_v this_o sacrament_n and_o therefore_o it_o must_v be_v due_o observe_v to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n man_n must_v not_o alter_v that_o which_o god_n have_v do_v the_o servant_n must_v not_o presume_v to_o control_n that_o which_o the_o lord_n and_o master_n have_v do_v and_o therefore_o none_o be_v to_o lay_v hand_n upon_o this_o sacrament_n either_o to_o take_v it_o away_o to_o add_v to_o it_o or_o to_o detract_v from_o it_o but_o due_o to_o observe_v it_o as_o christ_n himself_o have_v establish_v it_o and_o as_o none_o must_v alter_v that_o which_o god_n have_v do_v so_o none_o can_v establish_v a_o better_a sacrament_n than_o this_o be_v nay_o none_o can_v establish_v the_o like_a but_o jesus_n christ_n himself_o that_o which_o christ_n will_v do_v in_o this_o case_n he_o have_v do_v already_o and_o he_o be_v unchangeable_a he_o will_v not_o take_v away_o this_o and_o ordain_v another_o and_o therefore_o this_o sacrament_n be_v a_o perpetual_a sacrament_n of_o christ_n to_o be_v observe_v by_o all_o the_o faithful_a to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n the_o use_n of_o the_o doctrine_n be_v these_o use_v 1_o the_o first_o use_n of_o this_o doctrine_n be_v this_o this_o serve_v for_o matter_n of_o reproof_n first_o for_o those_o that_o do_v neglect_v the_o use_n and_o the_o conscionable_a observation_n of_o this_o holy_a sacrament_n a_o grievous_a fault_n among_o we_o either_o we_o come_v not_o at_o all_o or_o we_o come_v very_o seldom_o or_o at_o least_o we_o do_v net_n come_v with_o that_o care_n and_o that_o conscience_n to_o observe_v this_o commandment_n negligence_n of_o many_o minister_n and_o many_o people_n in_o this_o case_n but_o neither_o of_o they_o shall_v be_v excuse_v but_o if_o the_o blind_a lead_v the_o blind_a both_o shall_v fall_v into_o the_o ditch_n if_o the_o minister_n bear_v with_o the_o negligence_n of_o the_o people_n if_o the_o people_n will_v bear_v with_o the_o negligence_n of_o the_o minister_n and_o so_o this_o save_a ordinance_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o put_v in_o practice_n as_o it_o ought_v sure_o both_o shall_v be_v in_o danger_n of_o the_o horrible_a indignation_n of_o the_o lord_n what_o a_o horrible_a indignity_n be_v this_o to_o god_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v prepare_v his_o table_n and_o call_v we_o to_o this_o table_n and_o provide_v a_o great_a many_o sweet_a dainty_n for_o we_o a_o matter_n that_o concern_v we_o as_o much_o as_o our_o soul_n be_v worth_a and_o yet_o we_o to_o turn_v our_o back_n upon_o this_o table_n as_o who_o shall_v say_v we_o will_v have_v none_o of_o this_o how_o can_v the_o lord_n take_v this_o at_o our_o hand_n in_o luke_n 14.24_o the_o king_n make_v a_o feast_n and_o send_v forth_o his_o servant_n to_o call_v those_o that_o be_v bid_v and_o they_o begin_v to_o make_v excuse_n one_o say_v i_o have_v buy_v a_o farm_n and_o he_o must_v go_v and_o see_v it_o another_o have_v buy_v five_o yoke_n of_o ox_n and_o he_o must_v go_v prove_v they_o and_o scatter_v our_o saviour_n will_v not_o have_v they_o discourage_v and_o therefore_o he_o say_v well_o be_v of_o good_a comfort_n when_o i_o be_o go_v i_o will_v pray_v to_o the_o father_n and_o he_o yet_o they_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n who_o be_v as_o willing_a and_o ready_a and_o as_o able_a to_o do_v as_o much_o for_o they_o as_o ever_o christ_n do_v and_o therefore_o be_v not_o
