time_n but_o i_o pass_v these_o circumstance_n &_o come_v to_o the_o point_n of_o forsake_v itself_o in_o the_o unfolding_n whereof_o i_o will_v show_v 1_o in_o what_o sense_n christ_n be_v forsake_v 2_o in_o what_o part_n he_o be_v forsake_v 3_o upon_o what_o ground_n and_o 4_o to_o what_o end_n all_o this_o forsake_v of_o christ_n be_v for_o the_o first_o forsake_v be_v nothing_o else_o but_o when_o god_n leave_v the_o creature_n to_o itself_o either_o in_o regard_n of_o comfort_n or_o of_o grace_n and_o assistance_n i_o will_v show_v you_o how_o christ_n be_v leâ—t_v of_o his_o father_n and_o how_o he_o be_v not_o leâ—t_v 1_o he_o be_v not_o forsake_v in_o regard_n of_o god_n love_n forsake_v for_o my_o father_n love_v i_o say_v he_o because_o i_o give_v my_o life_n for_o my_o sheep_n god_n never_o love_v christ_n more_o than_o now_o because_o he_o be_v never_o more_o obedient_a than_o at_o this_o present_a 2_o nor_o in_o regard_n of_o union_n for_o there_o be_v no_o separation_n of_o his_o divine_a nature_n from_o the_o humane_a there_o be_v a_o suspension_n of_o vision_n indeed_o he_o see_v no_o comfort_n for_o the_o present_a from_o god_n but_o there_o be_v no_o dissolution_n of_o union_n for_o the_o divine_a nature_n do_v many_o thing_n in_o this_o seem_a forsake_v that_o be_v it_o which_o support_v his_o humane_a nature_n to_o sustain_v the_o burden_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n as_o also_o that_o give_v merit_n and_o worth_n of_o satisfaction_n to_o his_o suffering_n 3_o neither_o be_v this_o forsake_v in_o regard_n of_o grace_n as_o if_o faith_n or_o love_n or_o any_o other_o grace_n be_v take_v from_o christ_n oh_o no_o for_o he_o believe_v before_o he_o say_v my_o god_n my_o god_n will_v he_o have_v commit_v his_o dear_a jewel_n into_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n if_o he_o have_v not_o believe_v in_o he_o how_o then_o be_v christ_n forsake_v quest._n 1_o in_o regard_n of_o his_o present_a comfort_n and_o joy_n answ._n he_o can_v not_o else_o have_v be_v a_o sacrifice_n for_o as_o we_o can_v suffer_v by_o way_n of_o conformity_n to_o christ_n unless_o there_o be_v some_o desertion_n that_o we_o may_v know_v the_o bitterness_n of_o sin_n no_o more_o can_v christ_n have_v suffer_v for_o our_o iniquity_n have_v there_o not_o be_v a_o suspension_n of_o light_n and_o comfort_n from_o his_o gracious_a soul_n 2_o he_o be_v not_o only_o privative_o deprive_v of_o all_o joy_n and_o happiness_n but_o positive_o he_o feel_v the_o wrath_n and_o fury_n of_o the_o almighty_a who_o just_a displeasure_n seize_v upon_o his_o soul_n for_o sin_n as_o our_o surety_n all_o outward_a comfort_n likewise_o forsake_v he_o the_o sun_n withdraw_v his_o light_n from_o above_o and_o every_o thing_n below_o be_v irksome_a to_o he_o he_o suffer_v in_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n he_o have_v body_n soul_n good-name_n in_o his_o eye_n ear_n hand_n etc._n etc._n he_o be_v reproach_v proach_v and_o forsake_v of_o all_o comfort_n about_o he_o he_o have_v not_o the_o common_a comfort_n of_o a_o man_n in_o misery_n pity_n none_o take_v compassion_n upon_o he_o he_o be_v the_o very_a object_n of_o scorn_n but_o in_o what_o part_n be_v christ_n forsake_v quest._n in_o all_o ans._n both_o in_o body_n and_o soul_n too_o as_o may_v plain_o appear_v first_o because_o he_o be_v our_o surety_n and_o we_o have_v stain_v our_o soul_n &_o body_n too_o offend_v god_n in_o both_o but_o in_o soul_n especial_o because_o that_o be_v the_o contriver_n of_o all_o sin_n the_o body_n be_v but_o the_o instrument_n some_o sin_n we_o call_v spiritual_a sin_n as_o pride_n malice_n infidelity_n and_o the_o like_a these_o â—ouch_v not_o the_o body_n yet_o be_v the_o great_a sin_n of_o all_o other_o second_o if_o he_o have_v not_o suffer_v in_o his_o soul_n the_o sense_n of_o god_n displeasure_n why_o shall_v he_o thus_o cry_v out_o when_o as_o the_o poor_a thief_n that_o suffer_v by_o he_o make_v no_o such_o exclamation_n if_o he_o have_v suffer_v in_o body_n only_o the_o suffering_n of_o paul_n and_o moses_n have_v be_v more_o for_o they_o wish_v to_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o joy_n of_o heaven_n out_o of_o a_o desire_n to_o promote_v god_n glory_n on_o earth_n therefore_o it_o be_v he_o say_v in_o the_o garden_n my_o soul_n be_v heavy_a unto_o death_n some_o will_v grant_v that_o christ_n suffer_v in_o soul_n object_n but_o say_v they_o it_o be_v by_o way_n of_o sympathy_n for_o there_o be_v suffering_n of_o soul_n immediate_o from_o god_n and_o suffering_n by_o way_n of_o sympathy_n belove_a man_n forget_v this_o they_o think_v god_n be_v angry_a against_o sin_n indeed_o but_o yet_o his_o justice_n be_v soon_o satify_v in_o christ._n oh_o we_o must_v think_v of_o the_o almighty_a as_o a_o holy_a god_n separate_v from_o all_o stain_n and_o pollution_n of_o sin_n whatsoever_o and_o so_o holy_a that_o he_o inforce_v a_o separation_n of_o his_o favour_n from_o christ_n for_o become_v our_o surety_n and_o christ_n undergo_v a_o separation_n from_o his_o father_n because_o he_o undertake_v foâ—_n we_o so_o odious_a be_v sin_n to_o the_o holy_a nature_n of_o god_n that_o he_o leave_v his_o son_n while_o he_o struggle_v with_o his_o wrath_n for_o it_o and_o so_o odious_a be_v sin_n to_o the_o holy_a nature_n of_o christ_n that_o he_o become_v thus_o a_o sacrifice_n for_o the_o same_o and_o so_o odious_a be_v the_o remainder_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o â—_z of_o the_o saint_n that_o all_o that_o belong_v to_o god_n have_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v as_o fire_n to_o consume_v and_o waste_v the_o old_a adam_n by_o little_a and_o little_a out_o of_o they_o no_o unclean_a thing_n must_v enter_v into_o heaven_n those_o that_o be_v not_o in_o christ_n there_o be_v no_o god_n at_o all_o that_o there_o be_v no_o eye_n of_o heaven_n to_o take_v vengeance_n on_o you_o oh_o i_o with_o all_o my_o heart_n and_o can_v you_o then_o wonder_v that_o god_n hate_v sin_n so_o when_o it_o hate_v he_o so_o as_o to_o wish_v the_o not_o be_v of_o god_n oh_o marvel_v not_o at_o it_o but_o have_v such_o conceit_n of_o sin_n as_o god_n have_v when_o he_o give_v his_o son_n to_o die_v for_o it_o and_o such_o as_o christ_n have_v when_o in_o the_o sense_n of_o his_o father_n anger_n he_o cry_v thus_o my_o god_n my_o god_n etc._n etc._n the_o deep_a our_o thought_n be_v of_o the_o odiousness_n of_o sin_n the_o deep_a our_o comfort_n and_o joy_n in_o christ_n will_v be_v after_o therefore_o i_o beseech_v you_o work_v your_o heart_n to_o a_o serious_a
