positive_a act_n the_o first_o of_o these_o the_o negative_a act_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o preterition_n nonelection_n pass_v by_o and_o not_o elect_v some_o particular_a and_o special_a man_n to_o that_o beatitude_n and_o glory_n which_o other_o be_v appoint_v to_o this_o be_v that_o will_n of_o god_n by_o which_o he_o have_v determine_v not_o to_o save_v they_o but_o even_o to_o leave_v they_o in_o their_o lose_a condition_n that_o they_o may_v perish_v everlasting_o now_o this_o my_o brethren_n be_v express_o and_o apparent_o employ_v and_o include_v in_o election_n for_o when_o positive_a act_n for_o as_o god_n leave_v man_n in_o the_o first_o place_n in_o their_o sin_n and_o in_o their_o lose_a condition_n and_o do_v not_o choose_v they_o to_o salvation_n so_o in_o the_o second_o place_n he_o resolve_v with_o himself_o to_o condemn_v they_o and_o to_o destroy_v they_o for_o the_o sin_n in_o which_o he_o leave_v they_o and_o so_o to_o glorify_v his_o justice_n in_o they_o and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o some_o have_v style_v predamnation_n damnation_n in_o the_o purpose_n and_o decree_n of_o god_n for_o it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o decree_v the_o condemnation_n of_o such_o as_o be_v not_o choose_v to_o salvation_n and_o it_o be_v another_o thing_n actual_o to_o condemn_v they_o by_o execute_v the_o decree_n upon_o they_o now_o of_o this_o second_o act_n of_o the_o decree_n of_o god_n it_o be_v that_o we_o speak_v in_o the_o conclusion_n we_o be_v handle_v that_o god_n in_o his_o eternal_a counsel_n and_o decree_n have_v appoint_v and_o design_v some_o sin_n be_v consider_v in_o this_o second_o act_n of_o reprobation_n which_o we_o have_v style_v predamnation_n for_o as_o the_o lord_n condemn_v man_n for_o their_o sin_n in_o the_o great_a and_o dreadful_a day_n so_o he_o according_o decree_n from_o everlasting_a to_o condemn_v they_o for_o their_o sin_n he_o do_v in_o time_n as_o he_o decree_v from_o all_o eternity_n just_o so_o and_o no_o otherwise_o but_o mark_v it_o my_o belove_a however_o sin_n be_v think_v upon_o in_o the_o decree_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o the_o move_a cause_n of_o the_o decree_n but_o only_o of_o the_o execution_n of_o it_o and_o as_o it_o be_v not_o the_o foresight_n of_o faith_n and_o holiness_n upon_o the_o one_o side_n that_o incline_v god_n to_o choose_v man_n so_o on_o the_o other_o side_n it_o be_v not_o the_o foresight_n of_o infidelity_n and_o disobedience_n that_o incline_v he_o to_o reject_v they_o and_o appoint_v they_o to_o damnation_n indeed_o god_n damn_v man_n for_o their_o sin_n yea_o he_o good_a nor_o evil_a yet_o god_n fore-knew_a and_o god_n foresee_v they_o will_v be_v bear_v and_o that_o in_o time_n they_o will_v do_v good_a or_o evil_n and_o so_o according_o he_o mould_v his_o decree_n elect_v he_o who_o he_o foresee_v will_v do_v good_a reject_v he_o who_o he_o foresee_v will_v do_v evil_a but_o how_o then_o be_v it_o not_o of_o work_n if_o it_o be_v of_o work_n foresee_v of_o the_o one_o side_n or_o the_o other_o will_v work_v foresee_v stand_v better_a with_o the_o freeness_n of_o the_o purpose_n and_o decree_n of_o god_n then_o present_a work_n or_o work_n in_o be_v not_o a_o whit_n and_o therefore_o this_o be_v clear_o and_o apparent_o the_o force_n of_o the_o apostle_n reason_n the_o decree_n of_o god_n be_v free_a

in_o any_o of_o their_o way_n nor_o to_o bring_v he_o any_o glory_n why_o my_o belove_a how_o can_v you_o think_v now_o to_o be_v glorify_v with_o he_o jesus_n christ_n his_o own_o son_n the_o darling_n of_o his_o own_o bosom_n can_v not_o have_v glory_n with_o he_o upon_o these_o term_n he_o do_v not_o once_o so_o much_o as_o look_v for_o it_o have_v he_o not_o glorify_v his_o father_n here_o in_o this_o world_n he_o will_v not_o have_v expect_v that_o he_o shall_v have_v glorify_v he_o with_o himself_o in_o heaven_n you_o see_v he_o seek_v it_o and_o desire_v it_o only_o upon_o this_o account_n and_o what_o now_o do_v you_o think_v to_o speed_v better_o with_o the_o father_n than_o jesus_n christ_n his_o own_o son_n do_v you_o imagine_v that_o you_o shall_v have_v glory_n from_o he_o though_o you_o bring_v no_o glory_n to_o he_o when_o christ_n himself_o do_v not_o can_v not_o obtain_v it_o upon_o such_o term_n as_o these_o be_v do_v you_o look_v in_o this_o regard_n divide_v and_o distinguish_v from_o the_o world_n in_o the_o world_n they_o be_v indeed_o but_o they_o be_v not_o of_o the_o world_n and_o these_o be_v evident_o they_o of_o who_o our_o saviour_n speak_v in_o this_o place_n the_o man_n who_o thou_o give_v i_o out_o of_o the_o world_n now_o to_o those_o he_o here_o affirm_v that_o he_o have_v manifest_v and_o make_v know_v his_o father_n name_n and_o you_o must_v understand_v it_o to_o be_v speak_v by_o our_o saviour_n here_o exclusive_o i_o have_v manifest_v thy_o name_n unto_o the_o man_n which_o thou_o give_v i_o out_o of_o the_o world_n that_o be_v to_o they_o and_o none_o other_o why_o do_v not_o christ_n make_v know_v his_o father_n name_n to_o all_o without_o distinction_n do_v he_o not_o preach_v to_o all_o do_v he_o not_o open_a and_o unfold_v his_o father_n love_n and_o mercy_n and_o the_o like_a to_o all_o the_o multitude_n that_o come_v to_o hear_v he_o he_o do_v indeed_o as_o to_o the_o outward_a promulgation_n but_o long_o all_o these_o particular_n be_v wrap_v up_o in_o the_o observation_n and_o the_o text_n as_o i_o shall_v show_v you_o brief_o and_o in_o order_n first_o there_o be_v some_o man_n who_o god_n the_o father_n give_v to_o jesus_n christ_n so_o he_o himself_o describe_v the_o person_n to_o who_o he_o manifest_v his_o father_n name_n not_o by_o their_o inward_a disposition_n not_o by_o their_o outward_a action_n or_o condition_n but_o by_o the_o act_n of_o god_n upon_o they_o or_o concern_v they_o his_o giving_z they_o to_o jesus_n christ_n they_o be_v the_o man_n say_v he_o who_o thou_o give_v i_o so_o that_o some_o have_v this_o privilege_n you_o see_v above_o the_o rest_n of_o lose_a mankind_n that_o god_n the_o father_n give_v they_o to_o his_o son_n christ_n and_o give_v they_o exact_o know_v to_o god_n and_o christ_n he_o know_v how_o many_o of_o they_o there_o be_v to_o a_o man_n and_o hence_o our_o saviour_n speak_v of_o they_o in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o be_v able_a to_o distinguish_v they_o from_o all_o the_o world_n beside_o i_o have_v manifest_v thy_o name_n unto_o the_o man_n who_o thou_o give_v i_o out_o of_o the_o world_n and_o so_o he_o tell_v we_o that_o he_o know_v his_o sheep_n that_o be_v give_v he_o of_o his_o father_n as_o his_o own_o expression_n be_v john_n 10.27_o 29._o and_o yet_o he_o call_v his_o sheep_n by_o name_n ver_fw-la 3._o and_o in_o the_o 9_o verse_n of_o this_o very_a chapter_n i_o pray_v for_o they_o say_v he_o i_o pray_v not_o for_o the_o world_n but_o for_o they_o who_o thou_o have_v give_v i_o so_o that_o our_o saviour_n style_v in_o the_o revelation_n they_o be_v the_o man_n of_o this_o world_n as_o the_o prophet_n david_n call_v they_o who_o have_v their_o portion_n in_o this_o present_a life_n psal_n 17.14_o they_o as_o he_o have_v say_v let_v we_o examine_v what_o we_o be_v to_o do_v and_o what_o duty_n lie_v upon_o we_o relate_v to_o it_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n and_o here_o i_o shall_v propound_v a_o few_o
