of_o christianity_n viz._n the_o unity_n of_o the_o church_n advise_v his_o reader_n far_o to_o consider_v that_o in_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n abide_v upon_o earth_n there_o can_v not_o possible_o be_v any_o law_n for_o the_o preservation_n of_o its_o unity_n for_o the_o reason_n he_o mention_n and_o therefore_o jesus_n christ_n give_v power_n and_o authority_n to_o his_o apostle_n and_o of_o the_o nation_n they_o shall_v convert_v and_o which_o tend_v to_o promote_v true_a piety_n and_o goodness_n in_o their_o heart_n and_o life_n but_o for_o this_o the_o reader_n be_v desire_v likewise_o to_o consider_v we_o have_v but_o his_o bare_a word_n he_o not_o offer_v the_o least_o proof_n of_o any_o such_o power_n commit_v by_o jesus_n christ_n to_o his_o apostle_n and_o their_o be_v agreeable_a to_o one_o sort_n of_o people_n will_v not_o be_v so_o unto_o other_o and_o the_o governor_n of_o the_o church_n be_v to_o appoint_v as_o he_o say_v such_o ritual_n in_o religion_n as_o in_o their_o prudence_n they_o shall_v judge_v most_o agreeable_a to_o the_o manner_n and_o custom_n of_o those_o nation_n they_o shall_v convert_v what_o become_v of_o his_o main_a principle_n of_o all_o christian_a amity_n and_o affection_n the_o visible_a unity_n of_o communion_n in_o the_o external_a administration_n of_o god_n sacred_a worship_n which_o he_o but_o now_o tell_v we_o law_n make_v for_o the_o preservation_n of_o the_o church_n unity_n that_o it_o be_v altogether_o impossible_a as_o have_v be_v demonstrate_v that_o any_o but_o jesus_n christ_n or_o less_o than_o a_o omnipotent_a power_n shall_v be_v able_a to_o enact_v any_o such_o law_n neither_o have_v our_o lord_n christ_n institute_v any_o rite_n or_o ceremony_n in_o religion_n but_o what_o will_v very_o ceremony_n in_o the_o jewish_a church_n he_o intend_v though_o he_o give_v we_o no_o evidence_n of_o such_o his_o intention_n to_o inspire_v the_o mind_n of_o his_o apostle_n and_o their_o successor_n with_o so_o much_o soundness_n and_o integrity_n of_o wisdom_n and_o understanding_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v able_a by_o their_o own_o reason_n to_o enact_v such_o law_n and_o order_n as_o shall_v preserve_v the_o external_a unity_n of_o the_o church_n and_o render_v religion_n so_o amiable_a as_o that_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v quite_o naked_a and_o destitute_a of_o all_o external_a ornament_n and_o beauty_n in_o which_o he_o express_v but_o his_o own_o vain_a and_o carnal_a thought_n of_o religion_n christian_a religion_n be_v certain_o most_o amiable_a when_o most_o suitable_a to_o the_o
