and_o calvin_n be_v minister_n and_o that_o there_o be_v a_o power_n in_o the_o word_n which_o luther_n and_o calvin_n teach_v for_o this_o be_v true_a that_o paul_n speak_v the_o lord_n consume_v they_o daily_a with_o the_o word_n that_o come_v out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o minister_n and_o shall_v consume_v they_o daily_a until_o the_o day_n of_o the_o lord_n appearance_n in_o the_o three_o verse_n he_o fall_v out_o in_o a_o description_n of_o the_o manner_n of_o his_o walk_n nevertheless_o though_o we_o walk_v in_o the_o flesh_n etc._n etc._n though_o we_o live_v in_o the_o flesh_n that_o be_v in_o the_o infirmity_n of_o this_o common_a nature_n for_o to_o live_v in_o the_o flesh_n here_o be_v to_o live_v in_o the_o weakness_n of_o nature_n yet_o we_o walk_v not_o or_o epistle_n to_o the_o corinthian_n in_o the_o first_o chapter_n and_o the_o six_o and_o twenty_o verse_n you_o see_v brethren_n your_o call_n how_o that_o not_o many_o wise_a man_n among_o you_o in_o isaael_n and_o the_o first_o ground_n that_o he_o begin_v to_o instruct_v he_o into_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o regeneration_n for_o christ_n come_v to_o make_v a_o new_a world_n again_o and_o to_o renew_v man_n who_o be_v dead_a in_o sin_n and_o trespass_n therefore_o he_o begin_v to_o instruct_v nicodemus_n in_o this_o doctrine_n of_o regeneration_n and_o he_o bind_v he_o to_o learn_v it_o with_o such_o a_o necessity_n that_o except_o he_o and_o whole_a mankind_n be_v regenerate_v there_o be_v none_o of_o they_o that_o shall_v see_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n and_o this_o he_o do_v with_o a_o great_a asseveration_n say_v very_o very_o nicodemus_n hear_v and_o fear_v that_o heavy_a denunciation_n of_o banishment_n from_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n but_o not_o understand_v this_o regeneration_n begin_v to_o reason_n that_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n unpossible_a that_o he_o can_v be_v bear_v again_o because_o he_o be_v a_o old_a man_n and_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o a_o old_a man_n can_v enter_v into_o his_o mother_n womb_n again_o christ_n answer_v and_o answer_v insist_v in_o that_o proposition_n of_o regeneration_n urge_v he_o again_o with_o a_o necessity_n of_o the_o same_o regeneration_n only_o he_o add_v to_o that_o that_o he_o speak_v before_o the_o manner_n and_o way_n of_o this_o beget_n to_o wit_n of_o water_n and_o the_o spirit_n it_o be_v not_o a_o fleshlie_o generation_n but_o a_o spiritual_a generation_n whereby_o a_o man_n be_v beget_v again_o by_o y_z e_z renew_v of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n in_o he_o of_o the_o which_o water_n be_v the_o seal_n to_o seal_v up_o our_o faith_n in_o that_o assurance_n of_o that_o regeneration_n or_o new_a birth_n now_o in_o this_o text_n which_o i_o have_v read_v christ_n insist_v in_o the_o same_o doctrine_n and_o like_o as_o in_o the_o verse_n precede_v he_o have_v propon_v the_o manner_n of_o this_o new_a birth_n not_o to_o be_v natural_a but_o spiritual_a so_o in_o this_o verse_n he_o show_v nicodemus_n what_o a_o kind_n of_o birth_n it_o be_v that_o say_v he_o that_o be_v beget_v of_o the_o spirit_n be_v spirit_n that_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n work_v beget_v not_o a_o fleshly_a or_o corrupt_a creature_n but_o a_o spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a creature_n this_o he_o set_v not_o down_o simple_o but_o he_o set_v it_o down_o by_o way_n of_o comparison_n with_o the_o fleshlie_o generation_n to_o the_o end_n that_o nicodemus_n and_o all_o man_n see_v the_o corruption_n of_o the_o flesh_n they_o shall_v esteem_v the_o more_o high_o of_o that_o spiritual_a generation_n and_o he_o say_v that_o the_o thing_n beget_v of_o the_o flesh_n be_v flesh_n that_o be_v as_o the_o flesh_n a_o corrupt_a mass_n of_o flesh_n and_o blood_n can_v beget_v but_o corrupt_a flesh_n even_o so_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n can_v begâ—tte_v but_o that_o that_o be_v spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a and_o thus_o yeesâ—e_v the_o meaning_n of_o this_o place_n but_o because_o this_o place_n offer_v occasion_n to_o speak_v somewhat_o of_o regeneration_n whereof_o the_o world_n have_v never_o great_a need_n than_o at_o this_o present_a for_o i_o think_v the_o a_o time_n they_o will_v think_v they_o have_v not_o a_o pest_n so_o it_o be_v with_o this_o pest_n it_o will_v lurk_v within_o the_o flesh_n and_o sinew_n of_o the_o heart_n so_o quiet_o that_o a_o man_n will_v think_v he_o be_v the_o whole_v body_n in_o the_o world_n but_o touch_v he_o present_v any_o object_n or_o small_a occasion_n yea_o apply_v but_o the_o holy_a law_n of_o god_n to_o that_o heart_n incontinent_a his_o â—oule_a affection_n and_o lust_n shall_v utter_v themselves_o and_o burst_v out_o even_o as_o you_o see_v sometime_o that_o fire_n will_v be_v so_o hide_v and_o cover_v under_o the_o ash_n that_o it_o will_v not_o appear_v and_o man_n will_v think_v that_o there_o be_v no_o fire_n there_o but_o as_o soon_o as_o there_o be_v any_o meet_a and_o apt_a matter_n as_o wood_n powder_n or_o brimstone_n apply_v than_o it_o will_v manifest_v itself_o and_o burst_v forth_o in_o a_o flame_n even_o so_o albeit_o when_o man_n feel_v not_o their_o foul_a lust_n and_o affection_n they_o seem_v to_o themselves_o to_o be_v holy_a yet_o speak_v to_o they_o of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n forbid_v and_o discharge_v such_o and_o such_o thing_n to_o be_v do_v than_o they_o shall_v find_v the_o passion_n of_o sin_n which_o appear_v before_o to_o be_v dead_a within_o they_o to_o begin_v to_o live_v yea_o to_o rage_n in_o the_o soul_n and_o to_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n unto_o death_n as_o paul_n say_v in_o his_o epistle_n to_o the_o roman_n the_o seven_o chapter_n and_o five_o verse_n and_o then_o when_o these_o passion_n break_v out_o happy_a be_v he_o that_o
