satisfaction_n may_v be_v make_v for_o that_o especial_o to_o the_o public_a by_o the_o forfeiture_n of_o the_o person_n own_o life_n and_o by_o the_o terror_n of_o his_o example_n but_o in_o self-murder_n there_o can_v be_v nothing_o of_o this_o the_o offender_n evade_v all_o sensible_a punishment_n he_o make_v no_o satisfaction_n considerable_a for_o despise_v and_o break_v the_o law_n of_o his_o country_n and_o encourage_v other_o to_o do_v so_o he_o bring_v horror_n confusion_n infamy_n and_o poverty_n often_o upon_o his_o forsake_a family_n and_o yet_o do_v it_o often_o upon_o this_o very_a account_n that_o he_o can_v be_v punish_v here_o and_o therefore_o will_v undoubted_o suffer_v in_o a_o more_o dreadful_a manner_n hereafter_o thus_o i_o have_v consider_v the_o several_a signification_n of_o the_o word_n liberty_n as_o a_o pretence_n for_o self-murder_n and_o show_v what_o that_o liberty_n be_v in_o general_n which_o man_n have_v as_o to_o his_o own_o action_n that_o no_o evil_n which_o oppress_v the_o body_n can_v be_v destructive_a while_o reason_n remain_v to_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o soul_n that_o no_o sickness_n or_o pain_n whatsoever_o can_v be_v any_o sign_n that_o god_n give_v the_o sufferer_n liberty_n to_o destroy_v himself_o that_o he_o who_o do_v so_o to_o obtain_v liberty_n or_o ease_n from_o any_o such_o evil_n shall_v fall_v into_o a_o state_n of_o great_a slavery_n and_o therefore_o that_o liberty_n in_o what_o sense_n soever_o be_v a_o unreasonable_a pretence_n for_o self-murder_n and_o now_o i_o have_v go_v more_o plain_o for_o as_o to_o god_n propriety_n in_o man_n there_o we_o may_v find_v in_o how_o wonderful_a a_o manner_n this_o be_v increase_v by_o the_o death_n of_o our_o crucified_a lord_n who_o purchase_v we_o by_o his_o blood_n make_v we_o member_n of_o his_o body_n unite_n we_o to_o himself_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n thus_o too_o as_o to_o the_o end_n of_o humane_a life_n there_o our_o reason_n be_v instruct_v what_o to_o believe_v and_o our_o will_n what_o to_o do_v and_o encourage_v to_o obey_v according_o by_o the_o assistance_n of_o the_o same_o spirit_n and_o although_o we_o may_v see_v there_o that_o the_o best_a of_o man_n in_o the_o follow_n of_o this_o end_n shall_v be_v expose_v to_o great_a affliction_n to_o poverty_n sickness_n disgrace_n nay_o sometime_o to_o death_n itself_o yet_o we_o may_v see_v also_o the_o great_a advantage_n of_o such_o suffering_n by_o the_o improvement_n of_o oursoul_n and_o the_o increase_n of_o our_o reward_n and_o above_o all_o for_o the_o enable_v we_o to_o undergo_v they_o in_o their_o worst_a extreme_n we_o have_v there_o set_v before_o we_o the_o most_o excellent_a example_n of_o patience_n constancy_n and_o humility_n in_o the_o meek_a and_o forgive_a son_n of_o god_n what_o contempt_n or_o disgrace_n what_o torture_n of_o the_o body_n can_v ever_o equal_v what_o he_o suffer_v in_o his_o death_n what_o sorrow_n and_o anxiety_n what_o torment_v of_o the_o mind_n can_v ever_o be_v compare_v to_o what_o he_o feel_v in_o the_o garden_n and_o yet_o with_o what_o duty_n and_o resignation_n do_v he_o submit_v to_o all_o o_o my_o father_n if_o it_o be_v possible_a let_v this_o cup_n pass_v from_o i_o nevertheless_o not_o as_o i_o will_v but_o as_o thou_o will_v these_o bless_a word_n alone_o if_o right_o consider_v may_v afford_v in_o what_o circumstance_n soever_o the_o most_o sovereign_a preservative_n against_o this_o dreadful_a crime_n of_o self-murder_n but_o argument_n of_o this_o kind_n may_v
