have_v utter_v the_o heavenly_a truth_n to_o the_o praise_n of_o god_n and_o to_o the_o singular_a good_a of_o man_n how_o then_o be_v it_o say_v the_o tongue_n can_v no_o man_n tame_v be_v not_o the_o tongue_n of_o these_o well_o tame_v yes_o very_o but_o yet_o this_o stand_v still_o the_o tongue_n can_v no_o man_n tame_v for_o their_o tongue_n be_v tame_v not_o by_o themselves_o nor_o by_o any_o wisdom_n power_n or_o virtue_n of_o man_n but_o by_o grace_n even_o by_o the_o work_n and_o power_n of_o the_o heavenly_a spirit_n of_o god_n from_o above_o no_o man_n then_o but_o the_o lord_n god_n who_o power_n be_v above_o all_o have_v ever_o tame_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o tongue_n there_o be_v nothing_o in_o man_n from_o satan_n or_o from_o hell_n be_v it_o never_o so_o pestilent_a &_o horrible_a but_o the_o grace_n &_o power_n of_o god_n can_v subdue_v it_o it_o be_v not_o then_o the_o purpose_n or_o meaning_n of_o the_o apostle_n by_o say_v but_o the_o tongue_n can_v no_o man_n tame_v to_o lead_v man_n unto_o this_o even_o to_o let_v it_o alone_o for_o that_o which_o be_v unpossible_a unto_o man_n he_o will_v not_o set_v upon_o it_o at_o least_o if_o he_o know_v so_o much_o for_o to_o what_o end_n and_o purpose_n shall_v a_o man_n go_v about_o to_o do_v that_o which_o be_v above_o his_o power_n i_o say_v it_o be_v not_o the_o purpose_n of_o the_o holy_a apostle_n so_o to_o persuade_v but_o by_o show_v the_o difficulty_n and_o impossibility_n in_o regard_n of_o man_n strength_n he_o move_v man_n to_o seek_v unto_o god_n for_o the_o power_n of_o his_o grace_n for_o there_o be_v all_o the_o help_n and_o see_v there_o be_v help_v in_o god_n how_o can_v we_o be_v excuse_v if_o we_o do_v not_o fly_v unto_o he_o the_o thing_n be_v most_o horrible_a we_o ought_v to_o abhor_v it_o that_o we_o shall_v carry_v in_o our_o mouth_n the_o fire_n of_o hell_n and_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o devil_n shall_v we_o not_o thirst_v for_o those_o heavenly_a and_o pure_a water_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o shall_v extinguish_v such_o hellish_a fire_n o_o belove_a it_o be_v the_o mind_n and_o purpose_n of_o the_o apostle_n when_o he_o show_v we_o these_o thing_n to_o stir_v we_o up_o to_o seek_v more_o earnest_o unto_o god_n and_o not_o to_o trust_v to_o our_o own_o strength_n unless_o we_o make_v small_a account_n to_o carry_v such_o a_o tongue_n yea_o such_o a_o firebrand_n of_o hell_n in_o our_o mouth_n as_o be_v worse_o than_o any_o serpent_n what_o a_o loathsome_a thing_n ought_v it_o to_o be_v to_o the_o mind_n of_o every_o man_n to_o have_v his_o mouth_n full_a of_o the_o fire_n of_o hell_n ever_o and_o anon_o for_o to_o cast_v abroad_o we_o hold_v it_o a_o very_a rare_a and_o most_o strange_a and_o monstrous_a thing_n if_o any_o beast_n shall_v carry_v rank_n poison_n in_o his_o mouth_n to_o cast_v forth_o far_o and_o near_o and_o the_o tongue_n of_o man_n spread_v that_o which_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n worse_a than_o any_o poison_n so_o the_o tongue_n indeed_o be_v as_o he_o say_v a_o unruly_a evil_n full_a of_o deadly_a poison_n you_o know_v what_o be_v write_v in_o other_o place_n their_o mouth_n be_v full_a of_o curse_v and_o bitterness_n the_o poison_n of_o asp_n be_v under_o their_o lip_n their_o throat_n be_v a_o open_a sepulchre_n they_o flatter_v with_o their_o tongue_n we_o can_v not_o away_o with_o the_o poion_n of_o asp_n we_o loathe_v to_o hear_v of_o it_o and_o shall_v we_o not_o then_o loath_a to_o carry_v such_o horrible_a deadly_a poison_n in_o our_o tongue_n let_v we_o think_v well_o of_o these_o thing_n and_o judge_v of_o they_o as_o the_o lord_n pronounce_v and_o not_o according_a to_o our_o own_o sense_n for_o as_o every_o thing_n like_v and_o love_v that_o which_o be_v in_o their_o own_o nature_n as_o the_o toad_n like_v she_o own_o poison_n so_o do_v the_o venomous_a serpent_n the_o asp_n and_o the_o cockatrice_n so_o shall_v man_n by_o nature_n like_o and_o love_v well_o the_o poison_n which_o be_v under_o their_o tongue_n and_o that_o fire_n with_o which_o it_o be_v inflame_v by_o hell_n man_n do_v indeed_o even_o glory_n in_o those_o horrible_a thing_n which_o come_v from_o their_o tongue_n let_v we_o therefore_o as_o i_o say_v judge_v of_o the_o thing_n as_o the_o lord_n pronounce_v &_o not_o according_a to_o our_o own_o sense_n the_o lord_n say_v that_o the_o tongue_n of_o man_n be_v full_a of_o deadly_a poison_n if_o we_o be_v thorough_o persuade_v thereof_o will_v it_o not_o even_o force_v we_o to_o seek_v unto_o the_o lord_n to_o have_v such_o poison_n remove_v will_v we_o like_v well_o to_o continue_v still_o as_o venomous_a serpent_n can_v we_o think_v well_o of_o this_o that_o the_o devil_n shall_v fire_v our_o tongue_n with_o the_o fire_n of_o hell_n or_o that_o he_o shall_v use_v our_o tongue_n as_o his_o instrument_n to_o set_v all_o in_o a_o broil_n god_n be_v merciful_a unto_o we_o and_o help_v we_o for_o our_o case_n otherwise_o be_v most_o wretched_a and_o miserable_a and_o let_v we_o now_o see_v what_o reason_n the_o apostle_n render_v to_o show_v that_o the_o tongue_n be_v full_a of_o deadly_a poison_n for_o he_o give_v a_o instance_n or_o a_o taste_n of_o the_o same_o deadly_a poison_n in_o one_o particular_a which_o be_v this_o therewith_o bless_v we_o god_n even_o the_o father_n and_o therewith_o curse_v we_o man_n which_o be_v make_v after_o the_o image_n of_o god_n out_o of_o one_o
