i_o apprehend_v dangerous_a and_o they_o so_o great_o prevail_v my_o brethren_n think_v my_o confute_v they_o necessary_a at_o that_o time_n whereas_o i_o have_v no_o purpose_n when_o i_o write_v against_o dr._n crisp_n to_o intermeddle_v with_o these_o other_o point_n but_o some_o congregational_a brethren_n in_o their_o attempt_n against_o my_o book_n do_v from_o a_o very_a few_o occasional_a expression_n therein_o accuse_v we_o of_o socinianism_n arminianism_n and_o popery_n and_o that_o they_o may_v have_v some_o pretence_n to_o fix_v that_o charge_n they_o turn_v the_o we_o may_v be_v call_v christ_n seed_n when_o we_o believe_v yet_o it_o be_v not_o such_o a_o seed_n as_o it_o may_v be_v say_v of_o we_o suffer_v in_o he_o as_o we_o sin_v in_o adam_n who_o be_v the_o natural_a root_n of_o our_o person_n and_o thereupon_o such_o a_o representative_a as_o his_o descendants_n sin_v in_o what_o may_v be_v say_v of_o christ_n adopt_v merit_n will_v have_v no_o place_n here_o for_o these_o author_n make_v adoption_n to_o be_v a_o effect_n of_o justification_n and_o so_o the_o imputation_n be_v prior_n 2._o there_o be_v other_o who_o be_v for_o impute_a insist_v most_o upon_o its_o efficacy_n to_o that_o end_n as_o christ_n satisfaction_n be_v the_o ground_n upon_o which_o god_n enact_v the_o gospel-covenant_n wherein_o our_o faith_n though_o imperfect_a be_v account_v for_o righteousness_n concern_v this_o opinion_n i_o shall_v offer_v a_o few_o thing_n 1._o none_o ought_v to_o narrow_a it_o as_o if_o the_o author_n mean_v that_o pardon_n and_o eternal_a life_n be_v not_o merit_v by_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n for_o they_o affirm_v that_o these_o and_o other_o gospel-blessing_n be_v merit_v by_o christ_n as_o well_o as_o the_o gospel-covenant_n pray_v say_v not_o this_o it_o be_v not_o only_o the_o covenant_n itself_o but_o those_o very_a blessing_n which_o that_o covenant_n convey_v that_o be_v the_o merit_a effect_n affirm_v these_o blessing_n be_v already_o account_v purchase_v and_o authority_n in_o christ_n to_o dispense_v they_o before_o he_o can_v enact_v such_o a_o law_n 2._o they_o intend_v not_o to_o exclude_v christ_n righteousness_n from_o be_v impute_v in_o any_o sense_n for_o they_o say_v its_o impute_a quoad_fw-la effectus_fw-la and_o therefore_o shall_v not_o be_v charge_v to_o deny_v all_o
