people_n and_o consider_v of_o they_o in_o any_o condition_n if_o they_o know_v but_o their_o own_o heart_n they_o will_v find_v these_o two_o thing_n first_o a_o approve_v of_o the_o life_n and_o power_n and_o the_o strictness_n of_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n second_o they_o will_v find_v a_o savour_n of_o that_o which_o be_v spiritual_a either_o in_o ordinance_n or_o in_o god_n people_n their_o heart_n will_v savour_v they_o though_o their_o heart_n be_v very_o much_o down_o yet_o these_o two_o thing_n they_o find_v constant_a 2._o but_o for_o the_o ability_n to_o perform_v duty_n more_o sensible_a of_o the_o evil_a of_o that_o than_o sensible_a of_o the_o evil_a of_o want_n of_o peace_n and_o comfort_n many_o when_o they_o find_v their_o heart_n down_o and_o not_o in_o that_o degree_n fit_a for_o service_n that_o they_o desire_v they_o be_v trouble_v for_o it_o but_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o their_o heart_n be_v down_o there_o arise_v doubt_n of_o their_o condition_n and_o their_o peace_n be_v hinder_v and_o they_o can_v have_v comfort_n in_o it_o but_o they_o be_v not_o so_o much_o trouble_v because_o they_o be_v unserviceable_a and_o want_v heart_n fit_v for_o duty_n and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o their_o heart_n be_v keep_v down_o now_o this_o shall_v be_v our_o care_n to_o be_v more_o sensible_a of_o the_o unserviceableness_n of_o our_o heart_n than_o of_o the_o unpeaceableness_n of_o our_o heart_n second_o observe_v which_o way_n the_o strength_n of_o your_o spirit_n be_v let_v out_o and_o labour_n to_o recall_v your_o heart_n from_o that_o as_o thus_o if_o the_o strength_n of_o a_o man_n spirit_n be_v not_o for_o god_n it_o be_v let_v out_o to_o somewhat_o else_o it_o be_v always_o work_v some_o way_n or_o other_o if_o it_o be_v not_o let_v out_o to_o some_o one_o particular_a object_n it_o be_v scatter_v and_o divide_v into_o divers_a object_n now_o if_o your_o strength_n be_v not_o let_v out_o for_o god_n call_v your_o heart_n to_o a_o account_n where_o be_v the_o strength_n of_o my_o heart_n which_o way_n run_v it_o if_o it_o can_v be_v discern_v which_o way_n the_o strength_n of_o your_o heart_n be_v let_v out_o whether_o come_v strength_n and_o so_o those_o soul_n quicken_a truth_n that_o you_o have_v find_v before_o have_v quicken_v your_o heart_n if_o you_o present_v they_o afresh_o before_o the_o heart_n and_o chafe_v they_o by_o meditation_n they_o will_v get_v some_o strength_n and_o life_n into_o the_o heart_n last_o look_v into_o the_o present_a condition_n you_o be_v in_o and_o exercise_v the_o duty_n suitable_a to_o your_o present_a condition_n chap._n 19_o a_o five_o use_n to_o see_v the_o misery_n of_o be_v always_o unfit_a for_o service_n a_o six_o use_n to_o teach_v we_o to_o long_o for_o it_o be_v faith_n that_o bring_v thou_o from_o this_o way_n certain_o thou_o will_v grow_v more_o spiritual_a as_o thy_o heart_n will_v pant_v after_o christ_n so_o there_o will_v be_v a_o spiritualness_n of_o thy_o soul_n in_o the_o way_n of_o christ_n because_o thou_o come_v near_a to_o the_o rule_n and_o this_o be_v the_o difference_n between_o action_n of_o religion_n and_o civil_a action_n civil_a action_n that_o be_v do_v by_o civil_a rule_n have_v not_o always_o success_n but_o a_o spiritual_a action_n that_o be_v do_v by_o the_o rule_n that_o have_v a_o spiritual_a success_n though_o not_o a_o outward_a success_n it_o do_v make_v the_o heart_n ever_o more_o spiritual_a but_o for_o people_n though_o they_o be_v come_v from_o the_o yoke_n of_o antichrist_n yet_o to_o be_v as_o dead_a as_o ever_o no_o more_o spiritualness_n in_o their_o way_n then_o before_o no_o more_o savour_n of_o godliness_n in_o their_o society_n and_o company_n then_o before_o those_o that_o know_v they_o before_o can_v say_v i_o know_v they_o a_o great_a deal_n more_o spiritual_a and_o savoury_a in_o that_o which_o be_v good_a than_o they_o be_v now_o this_o be_v a_o dangerous_a thing_n 9_o again_o if_o it_o be_v out_o of_o faith_n such_o a_o one_o will_v give_v all_o the_o glory_n unto_o god_n for_o his_o deliverance_n and_o he_o will_v walk_v humble_o in_o his_o own_o eye_n and_o think_v i_o be_v disobedient_a and_o wretched_a and_o shall_v have_v go_v on_o in_o that_o way_n but_o god_n by_o his_o grace_n and_o power_n have_v come_v and_o have_v take_v off_o my_o heart_n and_o it_o do_v magnify_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n it_o do_v not_o perk_v up_o itself_o and_o contemn_v other_o to_o think_v i_o have_v get_v more_o wisdom_n and_o understanding_n than_o other_o and_o so_o attribute_v it_o to_o his_o wit_n and_o understanding_n but_o it_o give_v the_o glory_n to_o god_n and_o instead_o of_o censure_v other_o he_o pray_v for_o they_o and_o say_v it_o be_v not_o all_o the_o argument_n under_o heaven_n can_v convince_v they_o for_o i_o have_v argument_n enough_o but_o they_o be_v all_o as_o nothing_o till_o it_o please_v god_n by_o his_o grace_n to_o set_v they_o upon_o my_o heart_n and_o so_o though_o they_o may_v see_v argument_n as_o well_o as_o i_o they_o will_v not_o do_v therefore_o he_o pity_v other_o and_o pray_v for_o they_o and_o he_o have_v a_o reverend_a respect_n to_o the_o grace_n of_o other_o though_o they_o be_v not_o in_o the_o same_o way_n that_o he_o be_v in_o &_o he_o do_v not_o present_o cast_v they_o off_o say_v sure_o there_o be_v no_o grace_n and_o godliness_n in_o they_o this_o be_v a_o sign_n of_o a_o proud_a spirit_n there_o be_v none_o that_o be_v gracious_a but_o know_v there_o be_v a_o time_n when_o they_o go_v on_o in_o that_o way_n and_o yet_o they_o do_v not_o go_v against_o their_o light_n but_o be_v willing_a to_o understand_v god_n mind_n and_o yet_o till_o god_n come_v in_o their_o heart_n be_v not_o take_v off_o and_o therefore_o they_o learn_v to_o have_v good_a thought_n of_o those_o that_o be_v godly_a though_o in_o other_o way_n but_o especial_o if_o it_o be_v out_o of_o faith_n that_o you_o be_v bring_v from_o this_o antichristian_a bondage_n it_o will_v not_o leave_v in_o thou_o the_o spirit_n of_o antichrist_n many_o be_v far_o from_o be_v under_o antichristian_a bondage_n and_o yet_o have_v a_o antichristian_a spirit_n a_o spirit_n of_o pride_n a_o domineer_a spirit_n a_o crooked_a perverse_a spirit_n and_o this_o be_v a_o great_a evil_n that_o in_o the_o way_n of_o christ_n there_o shall_v be_v manifest_v a_o antichristian_a spirit_n this_o shall_v be_v lament_v with_o tear_n of_o blood_n now_o so_o much_o as_o a_o antichristian_a spirit_n do_v rule_v in_o any_o though_o they_o be_v from_o under_o his_o government_n so_o much_o it_o be_v to_o be_v suspect_v it_o be_v not_o the_o work_n of_o faith_n but_o somewhat_o else_o that_o take_v they_o off_o we_o shall_v have_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n the_o spirit_n of_o love_n and_o humility_n and_o gentleness_n and_o peace_n and_o as_o we_o will_v make_v it_o appear_v we_o be_v take_v off_o from_o the_o yoke_n of_o antichrist_n by_o faith_n let_v we_o show_v the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n as_o faith_n have_v take_v we_o off_o from_o antichristian_a power_n so_o we_o shall_v exercise_v faith_n to_o go_v on_o in_o
