christian_n do_v much_o differ_v upon_o the_o point_n yet_o i_o do_v not_o know_v any_o of_o all_o the_o teacher_n in_o the_o country_n that_o withdraw_v their_o consent_n from_o this_o doctrine_n have_v be_v handle_v in_o another_o congregation_n and_o i_o think_v not_o without_o weight_n of_o truth_n that_o to_o distinguish_v in_o man_n between_o that_o sanctification_n which_o flow_v from_o the_o law_n and_o that_o which_o be_v of_o the_o gospel_n be_v a_o matter_n so_o narrow_a that_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n have_v much_o ado_n to_o discern_v who_o differ_v a_o work_n fit_a for_o three_o thing_n former_o mention_v be_v all_o the_o difference_n between_o the_o sanctification_n of_o hypocrite_n and_o of_o the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o they_o go_v so_o close_o together_o that_o you_o will_v say_v it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n to_o discern_v justification_n by_o sanctification_n 1_o for_o the_o root_n of_o it_o the_o soul_n have_v fellowship_n with_o christ_n the_o holy_a ghost_n come_v into_o the_o soul_n &_o work_v faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n and_o this_o be_v the_o root_n of_o all_o christian_a sanctification_n ezek._n 36.27_o and_o for_o faith_n it_o be_v that_o which_o purify_v the_o heart_n act_v 15.9_o &_o without_o faith_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v god_n heb._n 11.6_o so_o that_o faith_n must_v concur_v unto_o the_o rootednesse_n of_o our_o sanctification_n in_o christ_n and_o the_o apostle_n do_v attribute_v both_o these_o root_n unto_o both_o sort_n unto_o those_o christian_n that_o shall_v afterward_o fall_v away_o to_o sin_v the_o jehu_n do_v not_o only_o think_v that_o he_o have_v zeal_n for_o the_o lord_n as_o he_o say_v come_v see_v my_o zeal_n for_o the_o lord_n of_o host_n but_o good_a jonadab_n do_v likewise_o so_o persuade_v himself_o and_o therefore_o do_v ready_o join_v with_o he_o in_o his_o reformation_n and_o when_o he_o proclaim_v a_o sacrifice_n for_o baal_n he_o think_v that_o jehu_n will_v not_o pollute_v himself_o in_o the_o temple_n of_o baal_n thus_o therefore_o sometime_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v because_o that_o a_o hypocrite_n may_v for_o a_o long_a time_n find_v all_o his_o own_o end_v attain_v in_o seek_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n as_o jehu_n do_v but_o in_o conclusion_n when_o a_o man_n and_o his_o own_o glory_n must_v part_v then_o either_o he_o must_v hold_v to_o his_o own_o yet_o the_o thorny_a soil_n do_v not_o so_o many_o papist_n have_v die_v for_o their_o religion_n and_o how_o much_o more_o than_o may_v some_o hypocrite_n do_v it_o yea_o even_o give_v his_o body_n to_o be_v burn_v and_o yet_o want_v jesus_n christ_n and_o everlasting_a salvation_n by_o he_o 1_o cor._n 13.3_o now_o when_o a_o poor_a christian_a come_v and_o see_v how_o much_o such_o a_o one_o do_v magnify_v god_n both_o in_o do_v and_o suffer_v and_o yet_o fall_v away_o it_o make_v he_o conclude_v sure_o i_o also_o at_o the_o length_n shall_v turn_v away_o from_o the_o lord_n so_o that_o whether_o you_o look_v at_o the_o root_n or_o rule_n or_o scope_n and_o bend_v of_o holiness_n a_o hypocrite_n will_v carry_v all_o thing_n in_o so_o fair_a a_o way_n that_o you_o shall_v hardly_o discover_v he_o to_o his_o very_a death_n and_o when_o a_o christian_a come_v to_o measure_v his_o own_o sanctification_n by_o this_o man_n he_o will_v very_o think_v the_o one_o to_o be_v as_o light_a as_o the_o other_o and_o unless_o it_o be_v one_o that_o have_v his_o wit_n well_o exercise_v marvellous_a much_o ado_n he_o have_v to_o clear_v himself_o in_o such_o a_o point_n as_o this_o there_o be_v that_o think_v there_o be_v no_o reality_n in_o hypocritical_a sanctification_n but_o certain_o it_o be_v a_o real_a work_n and_o not_o a_o mere_a counterfeit_n of_o spiritual_a gift_n there_o be_v indeed_o some_o that_o do_v mere_o pretend_v it_o and_o do_v but_o outward_o make_v fair_a weather_n in_o their_o profession_n but_o believe_v it_o it_o be_v not_o so_o in_o all_o hypocrite_n there_o be_v a_o real_a work_n in_o some_o heb._n 6.4,5_o they_o be_v enlighten_v and_o have_v taste_v etc._n etc._n which_o thing_n be_v real_a and_o not_o imaginary_a god_n cast_v in_o their_o own_o end_n and_o their_o own_o glory_n in_o their_o way_n the_o servant_n of_o god_n have_v give_v they_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o fellowship_n and_o so_o long_o they_o have_v hold_v out_o that_o it_o be_v never_o know_v when_o they_o do_v apostate_n yea_o and_o so_o glorious_a may_v this_o sanctification_n be_v that_o it_o may_v dazzle_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o best_a of_o god_n child_n &_o especial_o of_o poor_a christian_n and_o most_o of_o all_o discourage_n when_o they_o be_v see_v to_o fall_v away_o this_o very_a point_n have_v be_v one_o principal_a root_n of_o arminianism_n as_o another_o be_v that_o man_n receive_v christ_n by_o their_o own_o free_a will_n they_o be_v able_a to_o prove_v that_o there_o be_v not_o only_o a_o pretence_n in_o hypocrite_n but_o real_a than_o themselves_o for_o sometime_o their_o corruption_n do_v less_o appear_v and_o they_o be_v more_o free_a from_o temptation_n and_o not_o expose_v to_o such_o sinful_a course_n which_o sometime_o true_a heart_a christian_n be_v subject_a unto_o so_o a_o poor_a christian_a be_v discourage_v &_o a_o hypocrite_n embolden_v see_v himself_o more_o sanctify_v than_o the_o other_o in_o view_n prop._n 3._o that_o true_a sanctification_n of_o a_o sincere_a christian_a be_v not_o discern_v by_o he_o nor_o be_v indeed_o discernible_a until_o he_o first_o discern_v his_o justify_n faith_n a_o double_a ground_n of_o it_o &_o so_o leave_v it_o to_o your_o christian_n disquisition_n and_o search_n they_o be_v both_o take_v from_o the_o necessity_n of_o faith_n both_o to_o the_o acceptance_n of_o a_o man_n person_n and_o work_n there_o be_v a_o necessity_n of_o the_o activeness_n of_o faith_n in_o a_o man_n sanctification_n the_o lord_n have_v respect_n to_o abel_n and_o to_o his_o offering_n gen._n 4.4_o a_o man_n person_n must_v first_o be_v accept_v otherwise_o all_o his_o work_n will_v not_o go_v beyond_o the_o work_n of_o a_o legal_a christian_a and_o without_o faith_n it_o be_v unworthiness_n and_o look_v for_o grace_n from_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n deliver_v i_o i_o pray_v thou_o from_o the_o hand_n of_o my_o brother_n for_o thou_o say_v i_o will_v sure_o do_v thou_o good_a nor_o do_v a_o child_n of_o god_n fear_v divorce_n by_o his_o disobedience_n though_o it_o have_v be_v very_o great_a sometime_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v not_o only_o reject_v the_o
