it_o seem_v to_o cross_v any_o interest_n of_o their_o own_o a_o argument_n draw_v from_o the_o command_n of_o god_n or_o the_o necessity_n of_o the_o church_n or_o of_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n seem_v nothing_o to_o they_o if_o their_o honour_n or_o gain_n or_o greatness_n or_o safety_n do_v stand_v up_o against_o it_o and_o be_v inconsistent_a with_o its_o conclusion_n hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o soul_n of_o hypocrite_n do_v cheat_v themselves_o by_o a_o carnal_a religiousness_n serve_v god_n only_o in_o subserviency_n to_o themselves_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o hypocrite_n do_v most_o show_v themselves_o in_o matter_n of_o self-interest_n in_o the_o cheap_a part_n of_o religion_n they_o seem_v to_o be_v as_o good_a as_o any_o as_o zealous_a for_o their_o party_n and_o opinion_n which_o they_o call_v the_o truth_n and_o as_o long_o and_o loud_o in_o prayer_n and_o for_o as_o strict_a a_o way_n of_o discipline_n with_o other_o but_o touch_v they_o in_o their_o estate_n or_o name_n call_v they_o to_o costly_a work_n of_o charity_n or_o to_o let_v go_v their_o right_n for_o peace_n or_o public_a good_a or_o to_o confess_v and_o lament_v any_o sin_n that_o they_o commit_v and_o you_o shall_v then_o see_v that_o they_o be_v but_o common_a man_n and_o self_n bear_v rule_v instead_o of_o christ_n hence_o also_o it_o be_v that_o so_o many_o person_n can_v bear_v with_o themselves_o in_o any_o call_n or_o trade_n of_o life_n

a_o man_n that_o be_v at_o work_n for_o a_o endless_a life_n 11._o moreover_o idleness_n be_v a_o base_a kind_n of_o vice_n it_o be_v the_o imitation_n of_o a_o block_n or_o a_o stone_n that_o lie_v phlegmatic_a distemper_n of_o their_o body_n be_v more_o prone_a to_o heaviness_n and_o slothfulness_n than_o other_o the_o more_o such_o be_v dispose_v to_o it_o the_o more_o shall_v they_o watch_v against_o it_o and_o resist_v it_o the_o second_o sort_n be_v beggar_n and_o other_o idle_a wander_a person_n that_o make_v a_o trade_n of_o idleness_n and_o worse_o such_o also_o as_o ballad-singer_n stage-player_n juggler_n cheater_n and_o most_o ale-seller_n that_o spend_v their_o time_n in_o tipple_a and_o talk_v with_o their_o guest_n and_o other_o idle_a person_n that_o will_v spend_v whole_a hour_n together_o in_o twattle_v and_o talk_v idle_o and_o of_o other_o man_n matter_n all_o these_o live_v in_o a_o course_n of_o flesh-pleasing_a and_o of_o heinous_a sin_n and_o must_v better_o learn_v to_o deny_v the_o flesh_n before_o they_o can_v be_v the_o true_a disciple_n of_o christ_n this_o be_v not_o the_o life_n that_o god_n call_v you_o into_o his_o vineyard_n for_o no_o nor_o that_o he_o send_v you_o into_o the_o world_n for_o to_o waste_v your_o short_a and_o precious_a day_n in_o pot_v and_o pipe_v and_o prate_v and_o other_o way_n of_o idleness_n nor_o shall_v such_o be_v suffer_v in_o a_o commonwealth_n the_o three_o sort_n be_v too_o many_o lord_n knight_n and_o gentleman_n that_o think_v because_o they_o have_v enough_o to_o maintain_v they_o that_o it_o be_v of_o sodom_n which_o cry_v for_o the_o vengeance_n of_o sodom_n pride_n fullness_n of_o bread_n and_o idleness_n as_o if_o these_o person_n that_o have_v most_o wage_n shall_v do_v god_n the_o least_o work_n and_o they_o that_o have_v most_o of_o his_o stock_n in_o their_o hand_n shall_v make_v the_o least_o use_n of_o it_o or_o those_o that_o be_v oblige_v to_o god_n by_o the_o great_a mercy_n shall_v do_v least_o in_o manifest_v their_o thankfulness_n or_o fidelity_n what_o incongruity_n be_v these_o who_o shall_v be_v so_o busy_a and_o laborious_a as_o those_o that_o have_v the_o great_a account_n to_o make_v and_o those_o that_o be_v to_o be_v exemplary_a to_o the_o rest_n true_o gentleman_n i_o must_v deal_v plain_o with_o you_o that_o idleness_n and_o the_o expression_n of_o it_o among_o the_o most_o of_o you_o in_o hunt_v and_o hawk_v and_o bowl_v and_o complement_a and_o visitation_n and_o vain_a discourse_n and_o excess_n of_o drink_v and_o tedious_a meal_n be_v become_v the_o common_a shame_n of_o your_o order_n and_o must_v be_v correct_v before_o your_o honour_n or_o conscience_n can_v be_v recover_v and_o i_o be_o so_o far_o from_o any_o partiality_n in_o this_o censure_n of_o you_o that_o i_o must_v tell_v you_o if_o i_o know_v onen_fw-mi of_o my_o own_o profession_n that_o be_v guilty_a but_o of_o the_o ten_o part_n of_o some_o of_o your_o idleness_n i_o will_v do_v my_o best_a to_o rid_v the_o church_n of_o he_o and_o have_v he_o cast_v out_o among_o the_o sensual_a and_o you_o may_v do_v well_o sometime_o to_o ask_v yourselves_o whence_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o negligent_a idle_a minister_n must_v be_v sequester_v and_o turn_v out_o of_o all_o and_o idle_a magistrate_n let_v alone_a one_o reason_n be_v because_o gentleman_n can_v better_v cheap_a compel_v a_o minister_n to_o painfulness_n than_o themselves_o and_o punish_v minister_n for_o negligence_n than_o themselves_o and_o another_o reason_n be_v because_o all_o faithful_a minister_n themselves_o in_o love_n to_o the_o church_n be_v the_o seeker_n of_o this_o severity_n but_o magistrate_n be_v few_o of_o they_o so_o self-denying_a &_o forward_o to_o seek_v for_o such_o severity_n against_o the_o idle_a and_o negligent_a of_o their_o own_o order_n but_o do_v not_o your_o call_n require_v diligence_n as_o well_o as_o we_o it_o be_v a_o brutish_a ungrateful_a conceit_n of_o any_o man_n to_o think_v that_o he_o may_v live_v idle_o because_o he_o be_v rich_a the_o rich_a man_n in_o the_o world_n be_v bind_v to_o as_o diligent_a labour_n as_o the_o poor_a though_o not_o in_o the_o same_o kind_n and_o yet_o i_o can_v perceive_v that_o most_o of_o the_o poor_a be_v even_o of_o the_o same_o mind_n and_o when_o they_o labour_v hard_a they_o be_v idle_a in_o god_n account_n because_o they_o will_v live_v idle_o if_o they_o can_v it_o be_v no_o thanks_o to_o they_o that_o they_o labour_v for_o it_o be_v necessity_n that_o do_v constrain_v they_o i_o can_v hear_v they_o say_v that_o they_o will_v not_o work_v at_o least_o but_o little_a if_o they_o have_v but_o money_n enough_o god_n will_v judge_v these_o as_o idle_a person_n because_o he_o take_v the_o will_n for_o the_o deed_n you_o must_v labour_v in_o obedience_n to_o god_n and_o work_v as_o his_o servant_n and_o that_o with_o cheerfulness_n and_o delight_n and_o deny_v that_o self_n and_o
