and_o shadowy_a part_n though_o the_o substance_n thereof_o remain_v not_o to_o be_v make_v void_a through_o faith_n but_o establish_v yet_o this_o we_o have_v not_o obtain_v either_o by_o our_o own_o strength_n or_o imitation_n of_o the_o letter_n but_o through_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n in_o christ_n bring_v we_o up_o to_o the_o word_n of_o faith_n in_o our_o heart_n to_o obey_v it_o and_o do_v it_o so_o that_o our_o redemption_n by_o he_o be_v not_o to_o serve_v in_o the_o oldness_n of_o the_o letter_n which_o make_v nothing_o perfect_a but_o in_o the_o newness_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o perfect_o sanctify_v 2_o dly_z and_o in_o this_o we_o do_v not_o think_v ourselves_o out_o but_o in_o even_o the_o truth_n and_o within_o even_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o christ_n jesus_n not_o out_o in_o the_o letter_n but_o within_o in_o the_o spirit_n not_o out_o in_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n which_o paul_n call_v his_o own_o but_o within_o in_o the_o not_o take_v effect_n in_o all_o but_o only_o in_o they_o who_o believe_v and_o repent_v which_o man_n be_v not_o irresistable_o force_v to_o but_o general_o call_v and_o 〈◊〉_d to_o faith_n be_v about_o this_o and_o deny_v christ_n universal_a redemption_n and_o the_o sufficiency_n thereof_o and_o so_o oppose_v the_o general_a extent_n of_o save_a grace_n partial_o limit_v and_o restrain_v the_o universal_a sense_n and_o intent_n of_o those_o testimony_n of_o scripture_n which_o assert_v that_o christ_n give_v himself_o a_o ransom_n for_o all_o and_o that_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n of_o life_n ver_fw-la 4._o know_v this_o that_o our_o old_a man_n be_v crucify_v with_o he_o etc._n etc._n ver_fw-la 6._o and_o shall_v we_o sin_v because_o we_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n but_o the_o one_o be_v that_o notwithstanding_o grace_n be_v imperfect_a in_o this_o life_n there_o be_v no_o man_n may_v sin_v for_o all_o that_o in_o any_o the_o least_o thing_n whatsoever_o that_o be_v though_o our_o holiness_n be_v imperfect_a yet_o be_v it_o our_o duty_n to_o be_v perfect_a and_o we_o be_v still_o to_o be_v press_v to_o go_v on_o to_o perfection_n the_o other_o be_v that_o a_o press_v on_o to_o perfection_n when_o they_o persuade_v people_n that_o what_o they_o preach_v and_o press_v they_o unto_o it_o not_o attainable_a as_o to_o tell_v they_o it_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o be_v perfect_a and_o not_o to_o sin_v at_o all_o but_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o attain_v that_o state_n grace_n be_v imperfect_a in_o this_o life_n etc._n etc._n christian_n this_o be_v not_o yea_o power_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n which_o be_v strong_a than_o the_o devil_n that_o they_o may_v experience_n that_o great_a be_v he_o that_o be_v in_o we_o than_o he_o that_o be_v in_o the_o world_n and_o not_o tell_v they_o that_o grace_n and_o holiness_n be_v imperfect_a in_o this_o life_n and_o no_o man_n but_o that_o he_o sin_n so_o long_o as_o he_o live_v no_o not_o the_o best_a of_o god_n child_n yet_o a_o state_n of_o grace_n will_v not_o stand_v with_o any_o sin_n in_o dominiâ—â—_n why_o then_o must_v sin_n have_v any_o place_n of_o continuance_n shall_v god_n child_n by_o the_o in_o this_o nation_n of_o late_a year_n in_o despite_n against_o the_o quaker_n and_o in_o contempt_n against_o the_o doctrine_n of_o perfection_n the_o presbyter_n priest_n and_o some_o other_o have_v fill_v the_o nation_n with_o their_o doctrine_n of_o the_o impossibility_n of_o perfection_n or_o a_o sinless_a state_n to_o render_v it_o not_o attainable_a wherein_o though_o they_o have_v do_v it_o the_o more_o eager_o to_o shame_n and_o odifie_v the_o quaker_n in_o the_o people_n â—yes_n their_o doctrine_n tend_v to_o debase_v many_o to_o hell_n have_v harden_v man_n in_o sin_n and_o strengthen_v the_o hand_n of_o evil_a doer_n and_o make_v many_o hypocrite_n for_o which_o they_o have_v a_o sad_a account_n to_o give_v in_o the_o great_a day_n of_o god_n almighty_n object_n will_v it_o not_o indeed_o suffice_v that_o a_o man_n be_v upright_n before_o god_n in_o his_o desire_n and_o endeavour_n after_o perfection_n that_o be_v 30._o the_o have_a respect_n to_o all_o his_o commandment_n unless_o he_o also_o be_v perfect_a and_o his_o work_n overtake_v his_o will_n what_o then_o shall_v become_v of_o the_o generà tion_n of_o the_o most_o just_a an._n one_a the_o
