mean_n and_o opportunity_n to_o effect_v and_o see_v then_o that_o if_o repentance_n etc._n etc._n be_v not_o otherwise_o attainable_a then_o through_o the_o irresistible_a operation_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o all_o impenitent_a wicked_a and_o ungodly_a person_n from_o who_o he_o expect_v repentance_n shall_v neither_o have_v mean_n nor_o any_o opportunity_n afford_v unto_o they_o for_o that_o purpose_n for_o if_o that_o the_o mean_n thereof_o do_v necessary_o accomplish_v the_o same_o then_o all_o those_o that_o have_v that_o mean_n must_v needs_o be_v enforce_v to_o repentance_n he_o for_o those_o end_n opposite_a whereunto_o be_v the_o doctrine_n which_o aver_v repentance_n etc._n etc._n to_o be_v the_o peculiar_a work_n of_o god_n and_o not_o of_o man_n that_o it_o be_v by_o god_n make_v the_o peculiar_a work_n of_o man_n through_o the_o improvement_n of_o the_o mean_n appear_v from_o hence_o that_o god_n threaten_v condemnation_n to_o those_o person_n who_o through_o the_o use_n of_o such_o mean_n as_o he_o afford_v unto_o they_o for_o that_o end_n do_v or_o do_v not_o repent_v mat._n 11.20_o 21_o 22._o then_o begin_v he_o say_v the_o text_n meaning_n thereunto_o which_o opposition_n can_v be_v apply_v unto_o god_n as_o proceed_v from_o he_o because_o that_o in_o the_o scripture_n it_o be_v to_o be_v observe_v that_o he_o be_v so_o far_o from_o require_v of_o man_n the_o do_v of_o such_o thing_n which_o peculiar_o belong_v unto_o himself_o to_o perform_v that_o in_o all_o such_o case_n he_o require_v they_o to_o stand_v still_o and_o wait_v distinction_n make_v therein_o as_o that_o man_n shall_v do_v this_o or_o that_o and_o that_o god_n will_v do_v the_o rest_n repentance_n as_o it_o be_v consider_v whether_o in_o the_o disposition_n of_o the_o mind_n or_o in_o the_o action_n and_o exercise_v thereof_o must_v be_v conclude_v the_o peculiar_a work_n of_o man_n by_o the_o use_n and_o improvement_n of_o the_o mean_v vouchsafe_v unto_o they_o by_o god_n for_o that_o purpose_n the_o which_o will_v further_o appear_v from_o these_o ground_n 1._o because_o that_o the_o penitent_a shall_v rise_v up_o in_o judgement_n against_o the_o impenitent_a and_o condemn_v they_o as_o appeareth_z by_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n in_o mat._n 12.41_o the_o man_n of_o nineveh_n say_v he_o shall_v rise_v up_o in_o judgement_n against_o this_o generation_n and_o condemn_v they_o because_o they_o repent_v at_o the_o preach_n of_o ionas_n and_o behold_v a_o great_a than_o ionas_n be_v here_o which_o can_v not_o be_v if_o that_o enforce_v in_o they_o by_o god_n the_o one_o can_v be_v no_o accusation_n against_o the_o other_o in_o respect_n of_o any_o such_o difference_n for_o as_o he_o that_o do_v repent_v will_v not_o have_v repent_v if_o he_o have_v not_o be_v enforce_v so_o he_o that_o do_v not_o repent_v will_v have_v repent_v if_o that_o he_o have_v be_v enforce_v and_o therefore_o the_o man_n of_o nineveh_n if_o they_o be_v enforce_v to_o repent_v can_v be_v no_o great_a a_o accusation_n against_o the_o jew_n for_o their_o impenitency_n in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n than_o benjamins_n brethren_n can_v be_v against_o he_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o cup_n that_o be_v put_v into_o his_o sack_n against_o his_o will_n or_o procurement_n 2._o because_o the_o scripture_n do_v plain_o declare_v that_o god_n god_n concern_v the_o same_o that_o therefore_o all_o man_n have_v the_o mean_n of_o repentance_n vouchsafe_v unto_o they_o &_o that_o repentance_n by_o the_o improvement_n thereof_o peculiar_o
