and_o fraudulent_a device_n to_o compass_v a_o estate_n and_o root_v their_o possession_n in_o it_o for_o ever_o mad_o suppose_v to_o establish_v their_o generation_n by_o those_o way_n for_o which_o god_n never_o fail_v as_o he_o every_o where_o threaten_v to_o weed_v they_o or_o their_o posterity_n out_o of_o the_o inheritance_n so_o purchase_v it_o be_v his_o glory_n ever_o to_o destroy_v the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o wise_a and_o to_o ruin_v the_o house_n build_v in_o fraud_n or_o on_o the_o ruin_n of_o other_o for_o the_o hope_n of_o the_o wicked_a say_v job_n be_v as_o the_o spider_n web_n cunning_o spin_v out_o with_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o labour_n all_o night_n and_o sudden_o sweep_v away_o in_o the_o morning_n what_o faith_n then_o be_v there_o in_o this_o or_o indeed_o what_o be_v it_o else_o but_o a_o wild_a branch_n of_o mere_a gentilism_n and_o infidelity_n if_o not_o absolute_a atheism_n for_o do_v he_o true_o believe_v god_n or_o his_o commination_n it_o be_v not_o possible_a one_o that_o love_v his_o child_n so_o well_o can_v run_v so_o direct_a a_o course_n to_o destroy_v they_o but_o assure_o he_o do_v not_o believe_v and_o whatsoever_o we_o pretend_v yet_o for_o the_o most_o part_n we_o secret_o say_v in_o our_o heart_n with_o that_o fool_n in_o the_o psalm_n if_o not_o there_o be_v no_o god_n yet_o at_o least_o there_o be_v no_o knowledge_n in_o the_o most_o high_a or_o else_o with_o those_o wicked_a one_o in_o job_n tush_o god_n care_v not_o circa_fw-la cardines_fw-la coeli_fw-la perambulat_fw-la his_o walk_n be_v about_o the_o hinge_n of_o heaven_n he_o do_v not_o trouble_v himself_o to_o behold_v or_o regard_v the_o thing_n upon_o earth_n do_v not_o suppose_v i_o wrong_v you_o search_v your_o own_o conscience_n true_o and_o i_o believe_v the_o best_a of_o you_o all_o will_v find_v even_o this_o infidelity_n lurk_v in_o they_o for_o be_v thou_o absolute_o assure_v in_o thy_o soul_n of_o the_o omniscience_n and_o omnipresence_n of_o the_o lord_n do_v thou_o faithful_o believe_v that_o he_o be_v every_o where_o and_o behold_v every_o action_n and_o operation_n of_o thou_o though_o never_o so_o secret_a that_o he_o be_v about_o thy_o path_n and_o about_o thy_o bed_n and_o spy_v out_o all_o thy_o way_n and_o see_v thy_o thought_n more_o clear_o than_o thou_o thyself_o how_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o thou_o in_o his_o presence_n and_o under_o those_o eye_n so_o often_o and_o deep_o to_o dissemble_v with_o thy_o brother_n with_o thy_o own_o heart_n and_o with_o god_n himself_o can_v thou_o imagine_v a_o window_n in_o thy_o bosom_n and_o thy_o neighbour_n permit_v now_o and_o then_o when_o thou_o dream_v not_o of_o it_o to_o look_v in_o upon_o thy_o impure_a and_o fraudulent_a thought_n and_o see_v how_o thy_o cogitation_n be_v busy_v how_o will_v thy_o soul_n shame_n and_o blush_v to_o be_v take_v tardy_a in_o such_o base_a and_o unworthy_a employment_n which_o yet_o thou_o can_v free_o exercise_v and_o continue_v without_o any_o trouble_n or_o interruption_n at_o all_o though_o god_n himself_o and_o his_o pure_a eye_n behold_v they_o whereunto_o thy_o breast_n be_v transparent_a as_o glass_n and_o more_o open_a than_o the_o air_n what_o do_v this_o show_n but_o that_o thou_o believe_v it_o not_o for_o to_o believe_v his_o presence_n true_o and_o so_o much_o contemn_v it_o be_v mere_o impossible_a it_o be_v beyond_o imagination_n to_o conceive_v be_v thy_o faith_n firm_a in_o this_o point_n how_o it_o possible_o can_v be_v that_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o his_o holy_a angel_n shall_v not_o deter_v thou_o not_o only_o from_o think_v but_o from_o act_v those_o secret_a work_n of_o darkness_n which_o the_o come_n in_o but_o of_o a_o little_a child_n can_v utter_o interrupt_v and_o hinder_v of_o necessity_n thou_o must_v be_v drive_v to_o confess_v either_o that_o thy_o faith_n be_v asleep_a and_o thou_o do_v not_o believe_v it_o or_o thy_o reverence_n utter_o dead_a that_o thou_o esteem_v of_o a_o child_n more_o than_o thy_o maker_n assure_o can_v we_o fortify_v our_o persuasion_n but_o in_o this_o one_o article_n of_o faith_n and_o strong_o apprehend_v the_o truth_n of_o it_o nothing_o can_v be_v of_o great_a power_n to_o purge_v our_o heart_n and_o our_o hand_n too_o from_o all_o evil_a and_o uncleanness_n thus_o if_o thou_o careful_o especial_o on_o the_o bless_a spirit_n that_o inhabit_v and_o christ_n jesus_n our_o lord_n that_o dwell_v in_o his_o saint_n if_o all_o yet_o can_v produce_v in_o any_o not_o any_o thing_n but_o sin_n much_o better_o therefore_o it_o be_v to_o leave_v dispute_v and_o give_v good_a ear_n to_o that_o of_o our_o saviour_n he_o that_o break_v the_o least_o of_o these_o commandment_n and_o teach_v we_o be_v under_o the_o gospel_n dead_a unto_o the_o law_n that_o we_o may_v be_v marry_v unto_o one_o even_o to_o christ_n our_o lord_n and_o our_o life_n what_o then_o have_v this_o legal_a duty_n of_o commandment_n to_o do_v with_o we_o or_o we_o with_o it_o since_o we_o be_v mutual_o dead_a one_o to_o another_o yet_o be_v we_o under_o what_o time_n we_o will_v or_o state_n either_o so_o long_o as_o we_o lose_v not_o our_o humanity_n so_o long_o as_o we_o cease_v not_o to_o be_v man_n under_o any_o as_o be_v not_o real_o dead_a but_o moral_o so_o long_o it_o will_v have_v to_o do_v with_o we_o for_o this_o be_v a_o duty_n not_o of_o some_o time_n and_o person_n but_o universal_o of_o man_n neither_o be_v they_o simple_o under_o the_o law_n to_o who_o this_o be_v speak_v lead_v indeed_o they_o be_v by_o the_o oeconomy_n of_o the_o law_n but_o yet_o under_o the_o promise_n and_o promise_a seed_n and_o be_v save_v by_o the_o gospel_n as_o we_o now_o be_v though_o the_o gospel_n not_o so_o distinct_o believe_v then_o as_o now_o it_o be_v neither_o indeed_o they_o nor_o any_o people_n else_o under_o heaven_n since_o that_o promise_n the_o seed_n of_o the_o woman_n shall_v bruise_v the_o serpent_n head_n be_v so_o mere_o under_o the_o law_n either_o of_o moses_n or_o nature_n but_o that_o if_o they_o do_v their_o duty_n keep_v the_o commandment_n which_o they_o have_v and_o glorify_v god_n according_a to_o their_o knowledge_n they_o may_v for_o aught_o i_o understand_v be_v save_v too_o by_o the_o gospel_n which_o they_o know_v not_o for_o even_o the_o gentile_n so_o do_v their_o incircumcision_n shall_v be_v count_v for_o circumcision_n as_o the_o circumcision_n otherwise_o be_v esteem_v but_o as_o incircumcision_n in_o that_o day_n when_o god_n shall_v judge_v the_o secret_n of_o all_o heart_n not_o simple_o by_o the_o law_n but_o according_a to_o my_o gospel_n say_v the_o apostle_n rom._n 2._o and_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o only_a reason_n why_o this_o duty_n continue_v still_o to_o bind_v because_o man_n be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n simple_o but_o under_o the_o gospel_n for_o that_o be_v the_o state_n only_o of_o devil_n who_o doom_n be_v seal_v and_o though_o the_o law_n of_o their_o nature_n can_v be_v abrogate_a as_o be_v a_o branch_n of_o eternal_a equity_n yet_o they_o seem_v not_o to_o be_v liable_a unto_o any_o man_n punishment_n for_o the_o breach_n of_o it_o now_o because_o not_o capable_a of_o any_o reward_n for_o the_o observance_n the_o gospel_n therefore_o do_v not_o evacuate_v as_o st._n paul_n speak_v but_o establish_v the_o law_n since_o every_o man_n be_v therefore_o bind_v in_o duty_n unto_o the_o law_n because_o not_o absolute_o exclude_v from_o all_o benefit_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o we_o who_o be_v under_o the_o fullness_n of_o this_o gospel_n be_v in_o a_o full_a manner_n tie_v and_o in_o a_o high_a degree_n unto_o the_o observance_n of_o the_o law_n than_o any_o people_n else_o before_o that_o fullness_n come_v as_o be_v bind_v now_o by_o the_o special_a come_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o keep_v the_o commandment_n not_o in_o the_o oldness_n of_o the_o letter_n which_o as_o it_o seem_v be_v sufficient_a whilst_o the_o heir_n be_v but_o a_o child_n and_o in_o minority_n but_o in_o the_o newness_n of_o the_o spirit_n for_o the_o spirit_n it_o be_v which_o give_v life_n and_o vigour_n unto_o the_o commandment_n as_o be_v the_o very_a strength_n and_o power_n of_o all_o lively_a performance_n and_o therefore_o our_o saviour_n though_o he_o come_v with_o gospel_n in_o his_o mouth_n yea_o be_v the_o gospel_n himself_o yet_o think_v not_o say_v he_o that_o i_o come_v to_o dissolve_v the_o law_n i_o come_v not_o to_o dissolve_v but_o to_o fulfil_v it_o and_o that_o we_o may_v know_v the_o true_a fulfil_n of_o it_o if_o we_o think_v to_o enter_v into_o life_n belong_v to_o we_o as_o well_o as_o the_o entire_a and_o perpetual_a unto_o himself_o after_o he_o have_v vindicate_v the_o text_n of_o the_o law_n from_o the_o corrupt_a gloss_n of_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n and_o set_v it_o forth_o in_o the_o high_a perfection_n if_o not_o add_v perfection_n above_o the_o law_n and_o beyond_o that_o which_o be_v say_v unto_o they_o of_o old_a he_o close_v up_o all_o at_o last_o with_o this_o conclusion_n he_o that_o hear_v these_o say_n of_o i_o and_o do_v they_o i_o will_v liken_v he_o unto_o a_o wise_a man_n 24._o what_o then_o though_o be_v dead_a under_o the_o law_n we_o become_v through_o the_o favour_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v dead_a also_o even_o unto_o the_o law_n yet_o it_o be_v but_o to_o the_o condemn_a power_n the_o kill_a letter_n of_o the_o law_n that_o so_o we_o may_v be_v marry_v unto_o christ_n our_o life_n since_o the_o end_n of_o this_o marriage_n be_v but_o to_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n unto_o god_n as_o st._n paul_n in_o that_o place_n and_o that_o in_o the_o newness_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v not_o sure_a to_o break_v but_o to_o keep_v with_o more_o exactness_n the_o commandment_n of_o god_n this_o therefore_o a_o duty_n still_o the_o duty_n of_o jew_n and_o gentile_n and_o christian_n too_o universal_o of_o all_o mankind_n for_o this_o be_v the_o whole_a duty_n of_o man_n etc._n etc._n but_o though_o a_o duty_n not_o only_o in_o solomon_n time_n but_o even_o now_o under_o the_o gospel_n yet_o for_o all_o that_o it_o may_v be_v but_o a_o voluntary_a duty_n a_o freewill_n offer_v indeed_o of_o thankfulness_n and_o gratitude_n or_o so_o but_o not_o a_o necessary_a duty_n
