the_o gospel_n what_o a_o miserable_a condition_n be_v we_o in_o what_o a_o disparagement_n to_o the_o divine_a light_n of_o truth_n that_o it_o be_v not_o so_o demonstrative_a and_o fit_a for_o knowledge_n as_o the_o maxim_n of_o nature_n indeed_o as_o the_o apostle_n say_v 1_o cor._n 2.8_o the_o natural_a man_n with_o all_o his_o accomplish_a part_n and_o light_n of_o reason_n can_v perceive_v the_o thing_n of_o god_n the_o utmost_a of_o his_o knowledge_n be_v but_o conjectural_a and_o common_a he_o see_v not_o into_o the_o nature_n of_o these_o truth_n but_o the_o poor_a soul_n take_v they_o up_o in_o a_o general_a and_o customary_a notion_n but_o in_o the_o saint_n they_o know_v it_o be_v so_o as_o they_o know_v that_o snow_n be_v white_a and_o the_o same_o light_n and_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n assure_v their_o soul_n that_o what_o be_v write_v in_o their_o heart_n be_v as_o absolute_a a_o undeniable_a truth_n the_o inequality_n of_o light_n from_o the_o spirit_n cause_v the_o inequality_n of_o knowledge_n and_o assurance_n concern_v they_o both_o and_o the_o apopostle_n speak_v as_o confident_o of_o his_o own_o salvation_n as_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o truth_n this_o that_o christ_n shall_v be_v preach_v to_o the_o gentile_n equal_a with_o the_o jew_n and_o be_v bring_v into_o the_o same_o privilege_n and_o of_o the_o same_o body_n be_v that_o which_o stumble_v the_o jew_n even_o against_o christ_n himself_o they_o think_v it_o can_v not_o be_v possible_a that_o such_o a_o generation_n shall_v ever_o be_v look_v on_o by_o god_n or_o ever_o take_v do_v away_o and_o see_v more_o righteousness_n in_o christ_n than_o sin_n in_o it_o this_o be_v a_o hard_a work_n but_o 2._o that_o a_o soul_n shall_v believe_v at_o such_o a_o time_n when_o yet_o among_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o its_o sin_n it_o have_v such_o a_o root_n of_o unbelief_n within_o it_o spring_v from_o the_o power_n of_o self-love_n which_o keep_v the_o soul_n under_o raise_v mist_n before_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o soul_n self_n and_o it_o strive_v to_o evade_v all_o the_o argument_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o elude_v and_o baffle_v the_o soul_n in_o all_o its_o apprehension_n of_o christ_n unbelief_n say_v there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n as_o christ_n it_o be_v but_o a_o mockery_n a_o delusion_n or_o else_o raise_v up_o a_o dust_n before_o the_o promise_n nature_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o the_o person_n of_o christ_n be_v of_o itself_o invincible_a and_o oh_o what_o conceit_n be_v raise_v up_o in_o the_o heart_n against_o jesus_n christ_n the_o soul_n will_v run_v to_o this_o and_o that_o rather_o than_o christ_n it_o will_v look_v to_o self_n if_o it_o can_v find_v any_o thing_n there_o which_o may_v give_v it_o but_o little_a a_o ease_n though_o it_o do_v deceive_v it_o rather_o than_o go_v to_o christ_n it_o will_v court_v duty_n and_o performance_n saint_n and_o ordinance_n if_o any_o of_o they_o will_v afford_v but_o a_o spark_n of_o comfort_n to_o it_o that_o it_o may_v stay_v from_o christ_n for_o self_n and_o sin_n can_v endure_v to_o hear_v a_o good_a word_n of_o christ_n the_o antipathy_n be_v in_o nothing_o strange_a last_o
