spiritual_a light_n and_o when_o they_o do_v find_v faith_n in_o themselves_o they_o do_v find_v it_o in_o hypocrite_n also_o even_o in_o hypocrite_n also_o even_o faith_n to_o seek_v the_o lord_n &_o faith_n to_o wait_v upon_o he_o and_o faith_n to_o apply_v he_o say_v my_o god_n and_o faith_n to_o stay_v upon_o the_o god_n of_o israel_n and_o yet_o these_o man_n do_v vanish_v away_o in_o hypocrisy_n this_o hypocrite_n may_v do_v see_v therefore_o what_o easiness_n of_o error_n may_v befall_v christian_n whether_o this_o or_o that_o grace_n be_v of_o the_o right_a stamp_n or_o no_o it_o will_v behoove_v christian_n to_o be_v wary_a for_o even_o eagle-eyed_a christian_n will_v have_v much_o ado_n so_o to_o discern_v of_o sanctification_n in_o themselves_o before_o they_o see_v their_o justification_n as_o to_o cut_v off_o all_o hypocrite_n from_o have_v the_o like_a in_o they_o for_o the_o sanctify_a frame_n of_o god_n child_n and_o that_o which_o seem_v to_o be_v like_o it_o in_o hypocrite_n both_o of_o they_o spring_n from_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o both_o from_o faith_n but_o now_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v further_a work_n in_o his_o own_o people_n beyond_o what_o he_o work_v upon_o other_o though_o he_o melt_v both_o yet_o hypocrite_n be_v melt_v as_o iron_n which_o will_v return_v again_o to_o his_o former_a hardness_n but_o his_o own_o people_n be_v melt_v into_o flesh_n which_o will_v never_o return_v to_o his_o hardness_n more_o neither_o can_v they_o rest_v in_o any_o measure_n of_o softness_n unto_o which_o they_o have_v attain_v but_o still_o be_v carry_v towards_o jesus_n christ_n so_o that_o the_o one_o be_v a_o temporary_a faith_n and_o the_o other_o persever_v though_o both_o work_n in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n yet_o this_o difference_n will_v be_v find_v between_o they_o not_o only_a when_o hypocrite_n come_v to_o be_v blast_v but_o even_o in_o the_o midden_a of_o their_o profession_n as_o for_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v never_o precedent_n of_o its_o own_o power_n but_o his_o strength_n lie_v out_o of_o himself_o in_o christ_n whereas_o hypocrite_n and_o legal_a christian_n be_v confident_a of_o their_o faith_n that_o they_o can_v make_v use_n of_o it_o unto_o such_o and_o such_o end_n they_o think_v they_o need_v no_o more_o but_o look_v up_o to_o christ_n and_o their_o work_n be_v at_o a_o end_n and_o such_o strength_n they_o find_v in_o themselves_o as_o that_o they_o do_v not_o fear_v but_o that_o they_o shall_v carry_v a_o end_n all_o their_o work_n to_o god_n glory_n and_o their_o own_o whereas_o the_o strong_a faith_n even_o of_o the_o thessalonian_o who_o faith_n be_v such_o as_o none_o of_o all_o the_o church_n go_v before_o they_o if_o it_o be_v not_o supply_v and_o strengthen_v they_o know_v &_o the_o apostle_n paul_n know_v that_o it_o will_v warp_v &_o shrink_v this_o may_v we_o see_v by_o compare_v 1_o thes_n 1.3_o to_o be_v burn_v and_o yet_o want_v jesus_n christ_n and_o everlasting_a salvation_n by_o he_o 1_o cor._n 13.3_o now_o when_o a_o poor_a christian_a come_v and_o see_v how_o much_o such_o a_o one_o do_v magnify_v god_n both_o in_o do_v and_o suffer_v and_o yet_o fall_v away_o it_o make_v he_o conclude_v sure_o i_o also_o at_o the_o length_n shall_v turn_v away_o from_o the_o lord_n so_o that_o whether_o you_o look_v at_o the_o root_n or_o rule_n or_o scope_n and_o bend_v of_o holiness_n a_o hypocrite_n will_v carry_v all_o thing_n in_o so_o fair_a a_o way_n that_o you_o shall_v hardly_o discover_v he_o to_o his_o very_a death_n and_o when_o a_o christian_a come_v to_o measure_v his_o own_o sanctification_n by_o this_o man_n he_o will_v very_o think_v the_o one_o to_o be_v as_o light_a as_o the_o other_o and_o unless_o it_o be_v one_o that_o have_v his_o wit_n well_o exercise_v marvellous_a much_o ado_n he_o have_v to_o clear_v himself_o in_o such_o a_o point_n as_o this_o there_o be_v that_o think_v there_o be_v no_o reality_n in_o hypocritical_a sanctification_n but_o certain_o it_o be_v a_o real_a work_n and_o not_o a_o mere_a counterfeit_n of_o spiritual_a gift_n there_o be_v indeed_o some_o that_o do_v mere_o pretend_v it_o and_o do_v but_o outward_o make_v fair_a weather_n in_o their_o profession_n but_o believe_v it_o it_o be_v not_o so_o in_o all_o hypocrite_n there_o be_v a_o real_a work_n in_o some_o heb._n 6.4,5_o they_o be_v enlighten_v and_o have_v taste_v etc._n etc._n which_o thing_n be_v real_a and_o not_o imaginary_a god_n cast_v in_o their_o own_o end_n and_o their_o own_o glory_n in_o their_o way_n the_o servant_n of_o god_n have_v give_v they_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o fellowship_n and_o so_o long_o they_o have_v hold_v out_o that_o it_o be_v never_o know_v when_o they_o do_v apostate_n yea_o and_o so_o glorious_a may_v this_o sanctification_n be_v that_o it_o may_v dazzle_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o best_a of_o god_n child_n &_o especial_o of_o poor_a christian_n and_o most_o of_o all_o discourage_n when_o they_o be_v see_v to_o fall_v away_o this_o very_a point_n have_v be_v one_o principal_a root_n of_o arminianism_n as_o another_o be_v that_o man_n receive_v christ_n by_o their_o own_o free_a will_n they_o be_v able_a to_o prove_v that_o there_o be_v not_o only_o a_o pretence_n in_o hypocrite_n but_o real_a than_o themselves_o for_o sometime_o their_o corruption_n do_v less_o appear_v and_o they_o be_v more_o free_a from_o temptation_n and_o not_o expose_v to_o such_o sinful_a course_n which_o sometime_o true_a heart_a christian_n be_v subject_a unto_o so_o a_o poor_a christian_a be_v discourage_v &_o a_o hypocrite_n embolden_v see_v himself_o more_o sanctify_v than_o the_o other_o in_o view_n prop._n 3._o that_o true_a sanctification_n of_o a_o sincere_a christian_a be_v not_o discern_v by_o he_o nor_o be_v indeed_o discernible_a until_o he_o first_o discern_v his_o justify_n faith_n a_o double_a ground_n of_o it_o &_o so_o leave_v it_o to_o your_o christian_n disquisition_n and_o search_n they_o be_v both_o take_v from_o the_o necessity_n of_o faith_n both_o to_o the_o acceptance_n of_o a_o man_n person_n and_o work_n there_o be_v a_o necessity_n of_o the_o activeness_n of_o faith_n in_o a_o man_n sanctification_n the_o lord_n have_v respect_n to_o abel_n and_o to_o his_o offering_n gen._n 4.4_o a_o man_n person_n must_v first_o be_v accept_v otherwise_o all_o his_o work_n will_v not_o go_v beyond_o the_o work_n of_o a_o legal_a christian_a and_o without_o faith_n it_o be_v through_o fear_n and_o so_o all_o those_o melt_v that_o want_n not_o depth_n of_o earth_n as_o the_o thorny_a soil_n do_v not_o but_o mind_v you_o they_o will_v grow_v hard_o again_o as_o iron_n or_o they_o along_o in_o the_o way_n and_o duty_n thereof_o thus_o they_o see_v their_o holiness_n and_o take_v comfort_n in_o it_o &_o from_o the_o witness_n of_o it_o as_o that_o by_o which_o the_o there_o be_v two_o thing_n in_o the_o root_n 1._o the_o first_o be_v the_o root_n of_o abraham_n covenant_n which_o this_o people_n much_o trust_v upon_o and_o that_o be_v it_o of_o which_o john_n baptist_n speak_v now_o the_o axe_n be_v lay_v to_o the_o root_n of_o the_o tree_n etc._n etc._n and_o this_o he_o speak_v mat._n 3.9_o after_o he_o have_v say_v think_v not_o to_o say_v within_o your_o yourselves_o we_o have_v abraham_n to_o our_o father_n vers_n 8._o so_o that_o all_o the_o confidence_n that_o they_o have_v in_o abraham_n covenant_n and_o temple_n and_o tabernacle_n and_o the_o lord_n have_v cut_v we_o off_o from_o hope_n in_o the_o righteousness_n of_o our_o parent_n and_o from_o boast_v of_o his_o ordinance_n yet_o we_o think_v there_o be_v some_o power_n still_o leave_v we_o and_o therefore_o we_o hope_v and_o will_v seek_v in_o our_o own_o strength_n that_o the_o lord_n may_v reveal_v himself_o to_o we_o in_o mercy_n and_o peace_n but_o when_o the_o lord_n come_v near_a unto_o we_o he_o will_v show_v we_o how_o unable_a we_o be_v to_o take_v up_o the_o least_o good_a resolution_n we_o shall_v find_v ourselves_o like_o bruise_a reed_n unable_a to_o
